  1. Hi All, I have come to the decision that I am going to finally remove the toaster pad from my RS. Every time I charge my phone all I get is phone shutdown from overheat. In saying this the engineering brain at VAG have put temp sensors in the Qi charger but as there is the rubber mat between them and the phone I think the rubber would been to melt before anything happened. Now of the question. If I unplug and remove the Qi pad does anyone know if this will create any errors in infotainment system with it no longer being there. What I am doing is removing it from its holder (image attached) and them proceeding to fit the MagSafe into its place. I am using the latest Carlinkit 5.0 which I am finding quite good, had some others but phone calls had too much delay. As this has USB passthrough so I thinking of connecting it to that and see how it goes. Would anyone know if there is a way of getting another USB plug for power only off the wired CarPlay USB?
  2. Hi, I needed up fitting H&R hub-centric 8mm on the rear and left the 15mm on the front. Looks quite nice. I wouldn't go with out the hub-centric that's asking for trouble.
  3. Outer guard. Yeah I think thinner now tried that 15mm from the front on the rear and still scrapes. I would say 8-10mm required. Will have to look it up tomorrow. The 15mm still ok on front though.
  4. HI, I have just fitted new shoes to my RS. I had original 225 tyres on it and not gone to 235. With 225 I had 15mm from and 20mm rear spacers. This on the rear is now rubbing the guard. Anyone fitted spacer to front and rear after replace tyres to 235? What have you fitted? Thanks in advance.
  5. Guide to unclip the roof lining is quite simple. I only unclipped the 4 corners. Just give it a tug and it should pop out. You can then have a look where the clips are and put a small amount of lube on them. Clip them back in and should be fine. May come back a little in warmer weather but do the same and will eventually be fine.
  6. I have reduced this issue to almost zero. If you unclip the roof liner and put some lanolin grease on the clips then clip it back in this will fix most of the noise. The noise comes form the movement of the roof liner moving as you turn or lean where it clips in. It was driving me insane as well and totally understand.
  7. Hi would there be chance be an update for Australian Columbus 2.5. I have a Octavia vRS my20.5 FL with Canton
  8. Perfect I will check polarity and switch them round. I will then see how they go and if they still play up I will then check what the difference between the incandescent and leds and possibly fit a resistor. I work with LEDS most days and as they are working in the door I automatically thought they polarity was correct. I think these Canbus LEDS have multi directional polarity but work better in the correct direction.
  9. So in reply the lights do work. Are you saying that they will work with polarity set in either way but work properly in one direction and not the other? The car has door light as factory fitted but they are not LEDS. I wondering if it also may have something to do with the front doors being LEDS and the rear being normal globes. I will try and reverse the cables which will reverse polarity and see what that does. I will also change the globes in the rears to LEDs. From what I am reading there is not a setting for normal or LEDs for door warning lights like foot well light have. Thank you all for then information. If any one has more ideas please chime in. I will make the change tomorrow and see what happens and update here with results.
  10. I got the LEDS from Kopachek so should be of good quality. The car is an Octavia Mk3.5 vRS and does have sore control modules in each door. I will try and look through the modules and see if there is a LED options somewhere. the lights work but throw a fault code. What also happens is that they turn on when you open the door then sometimes turn off after 5-10 seconds. Shut the door and open it again they may come on or not. Hits a bit hit and miss as to when they turn on and off.
  11. Hey Guys I new here and have just taken delivery of a 2020 vRS and love it. I have replaced the rear reverse and indicator globes as well as all the dome, boot and floor globes with LEDS. I ordered from SuperSkoda the Red LED with VRS projector for the front doors. What I wanting to know is they dont always work and when I plug in OBD11 is as 2 faults re the door warning lights. Does anyone know how to code these as LEDs?
  12. Hi, Hi yes that’s correct. You can get wireless adaptors to plug into USB port that give you wireless CarPlay. Just wondering if anyone had tried any and what results they got. adaptors like Carlinkit and Play2Air etc
  13. Hi, just wondering if anyone has successfully used a Wireless adaptor on a 2020 VRS. I’ve tried to activate internal wireless CarPlay but I don’t think the 5ghz wifi antenna is fitted. if so which adaptor are you using.
  14. I.have activate the setting that SashaGrace has posted above but doesnt work on mine. I have a 2020 vRs.
