  1. Just to complicate matters, don't the water regs require check valves on outside taps?
  2. Another vote for Bellman's in Sheffield. Took my "fixed" CR 140 manual combi for the rollback last week. No drama or fuss and an hour later it's sorted. Now running it's original 5265 file as printed on the engine control unit. It's running sweeter already but time will tell if there are any of the reported mpg improvements or longer intervals between regens. Chris knows his subject and has the knowledge .experience and tools invaluable to solve problems. Now to order some Archoil treatment and get the oil and filter changed.
  3. Thanks to the information in this thread I just removed the plastic cover on the passenger side to check for crud blocking the drains. Initially after pulling forward the rubber bonnet seal to expose the front edge of the plastic trim I was unable to get it to budge. I then used a toothbrush and some neat surfex to clean the 1mm wide groove between the plastic and the windscreen rubber. After that I lifted the forward flat edge slightly and palm upwards could get a hand in the gap under the cover to push upwards. The cover came straight out easily and without damage. There was a lot of soil and compost to clean out around the base of the fan intake which meant removing two more torx 25 screws and the cable clips on the intake shroud and two smaller torx screws holding the ribbon cable for the front heated screen. I cleaned both the plastic cover and the windscreen rubber groove again with toothbrush before reassembly which meant the cover clipped back with a firm push in its original groove to sit neatly. Car is a 2014 FL Superb Estate.
  4. I went to jack up my estate rear corner the other day and the alarm went off. I hadn't unlocked.
  5. Thanks for that, Its one reason I changed to oe led lights in order to get the others out and inspect the hole surrounds. There is a bit of bubbling around one which has discoloured the clear plastic gasket. Doesn't appear to be much else as I had the number plate off as well. Judging by the amount of compost behind the arch covers I am a bit worried about blockages in the drainage under the plastic cover under the front windscreen.
  6. Just joined the forum. Recently bought a 77k 2 owner 140CR L+K estate after defecting from 90's Mercs. I've wanted one for ages and finally took the plunge. I like to tinker a bit but this is also the first diesel car I have owned in 30 odd years of driving. So far with help from posters and guides on here I have done the following: Removed the wheelarch liners, cleaned out the compost and treated arches with B/H Dynax. New genuine Skoda mudflaps fitted. Dismantled passenger wing mirror to fit new genuine led indicator repeater. Cleaned seatbelts and fitted new car mats. New rubber boot floor liner ( it's the rails but no sliding floor version) Fitted new oem led number plate lights and coded with vcds I would appreciate any guidance from the experts on other areas to look out for and check with regard to keeping it dry ,rust free and mechanically happy. Thanks all.
