  1. I understood they had halted manufacture of the Octavia First Edition due to these issues and they are assembling Golf8 but waiting for latest software before selling them.
  2. I think the replacememt unit is the old style one that has a different version of software loaded.Might be wrong but I think its the on ly solution they van find .
  3. Well mine had two software updates last month and hey ho they didn't solve anything .To be fair to the dealership they said it wouldn't help me .My last standard monthly email from Skoda exec said that a software solution was under test ,not holding my breath. When the car brakes automatically for no reason do the brake lights come on ?
  4. Sorry mate I never got that far with mine I'm still waitong for the auto braking ,Kph,Laura coming on relentlessly and the other issues being sorted .
  5. I also understand uts the same issues with the Golf8 and Seat models.Theyve gone a step too far with technology this time .
  6. Welcome to the club! My last email from Skoda /VW stated there was software fux being tested and if OK we would all get an update ,however I'm not holding my breath. On the braking issue the only partial solution you can do is to turn the sensitivity down to minimum ,since I've done ti's I've only had the brakes come on four times instead of every day. Turn off the speed sign recognition as the car translates it into Kph not mph so you stop kangerooing down the road or simply ask for a full refund .
  7. It's better than "we don't give a **** "
  8. Re: Å KODA OCTAVIA- FV20 GRK Dear Mr Clarke Following on from my last contact with you, the resolution for the mph/km is currently under testing and we are waiting for communication back from the factory. Please let me assure you that we are treating your concerns with the upmost importance and it is for that reason it is taking slightly longer for me to come back to you than I anticipated. I can confirm we are working to ensure our investigations are completed within a timely manner and I will once again update you further in 2 week. Thank you for your continued patience. 9. No solution after 12months of complaints and its going to cost Skoda owners when word gets onto the street about these issues .Surely the ACC issue must be a serious safety issue and I wonder if its been reported to the DT? The fact is we have all paid for these fancy gadgets on our cars which we cannot use, don't trust or have turned off .Very shoddy from VW and Skoda ,I also hear there's the same issues with certain Seat models ....its a real ****fest
  10. Would you like a copy of mine ? 😉
  11. Slightly different slant on "new day ,same **** email" Thank you for taking the time to reply. Pease be assured the issue is already at the highest level within the factory. We are currently awaiting an update, and will be in contact within the next week to update you. Kind regards Kate Laws Senior Customer Resolution Manager 01137334517 Å KODA UK | Selectapost
  12. Is there an another avenue to register our complaints against Skoda at a higher level than Skoda UK who seem to be cutting and pasting the generic response.
  13. I have written to Skoda UK requesting ,in writing that they accept there is a safety issue with the auto braking feature on the Octavia First Edition and asked for a commitment in writing to cover any costs incurred if it is found that this faulty braking system is the cause of an accident .I suggest that everybody with this issue does likewise.

  15. Well mine went in this week and had two software updates and a new control unit fitted for the SOS system (didn't know it was faulty) The updates haven't resolved my issues/ concerns but I've been told to alter the auto brake to "late" status to help unescessary braking .Skoda UK called me to tell me yet again a software solution was under investigation.
  16. That looks very familiar 🤔
  17. It's all gone quiet on here ,has the silver bullet arrived from VW whilst I was snoozing ?
  18. So the decision to reject the car is with Skoda UK not the dealership.
  19. My car goes back this week and swapped out until a silver bullet is fired 😳
  20. Yes ,which highlights the length if the problem without a resolution.Skoda UK expected a software update this month but no sign of it yet .
  21. What really annoys me is that the dealerships, in general are in denial whilst Skoda UK are sat on the wall waiting for the software update but reading all the various issues on here I'm not convinced it's going to be a one stop shop to fix them all.
  22. Auto braking coming on randomly to me is a serious fault and OK you can turn it off before each journey, however it warns you not to so basically its setting you up to be rear ended .If these faults are not serious then what have Skoda stopped production of this model and VW have a load of Golf's sat waiting for the promised software update which was promised several weeks ago.
  23. Interesting article guys https://uk.motor1.com/news/423973/2020-skoda-octavia-software-problem/ https://uk.motor1.com/news/423973/2020-skoda-octavia-software-problem/
  24. I have been told that Skoda and VW have stalled sales of these models Octavia and Golf 8 ,anybody heard anything ?
