  1. I have had many issues of the auto braking coming on for no reason , its freaking me out tbh.Sat nav is in Kph not mph and locations are GPS numners which are meaningless ,also Laura keeps coming on for no reason.Im now pursuing a refund
  2. Usual response from the dealership as I have experienced the same .You need to contact Kate at Skoda 01137334517.She is customer service at Executive Skoda UK and very approachable .
  3. I would love to keep my Skoda as its a great car but in hindsight I wish I'd have kept my Superb .....however Kate is talking to the dealership to review a refund (not holding my breath) if its not viable financially and I would lose money I guess I'll have to wait for the update which when I enquired nobody seems to know what the update will actually resolve .Having had the auto braking come on again twice in the past two days I have assumed that the sensors are picking up parked car on the opposite side of the road on a tight bend ,presumably thi King its directly in front of me .Let's wait and see .
  4. I'm now exploring the possibility of a refund as Skoda do not seem to have a ready solution to this issue and its come to a stage where my family won't travel in this car as they become anxious regarding is it going to brake ! Just a thought guys ....do the brake lights come on when it brakes automatically as that is initiated via the foot pedal and what about in winter on a wet or icy surface ,you'd be up **** creek .
  5. Is there any option to return our cars for a full refund ?
  6. Latest email from Skoda Executive UK ,seems its a more difficult fix than anticipated . Following on from my last contact with you, please let me assure you that we are treating your concerns with the upmost importance and it is for that reason it is taking slightly longer for me to come back to you than I anticipated. I can confirm we are working to ensure our investigations are completed within a timely manner and I will once again update you further on Wednesday. Thank you for your patience.
  7. Yes , I'm also waiting for my local dealer to recall my car.Meanwhile my neighbour was hit from behind yesterday when his auto assist braking initiated .Just think hiw dangerous this is in winter weather .
  8. Thanks Jim, that timescale is the same as I recd from Skoda .Let's hope it fixes all the issues GPS in Mph,Laura ,GPS Co ordinates and braking assist .I don't have a SIM card in my car
  9. Ive had a call from VW uk who offered me a hire car until the update is installed on my Skoda.I am assured it will be approx three weeks and it should cure the auto braking ,Kph/mph ,Laura and the issue where postcodes are shown as GPS reference numbers. Hope it works OK.
  10. The auto braking issue is frightening me and should be a major concern for Skoda ,I know you can turn it off but warns you not to and you have to reset after each journey .This car is scaring the **** out of me and think Skoda should be held responsible for these issues and the fact they released the car without fully testing it .
  11. I emailed Honest John to register the Kph/mph issue on my Skoda first edition having spoke to my dealership they denied all knowledge of this common fault .I was given a link to Skoda UK and i emailed them , the reply is below:- The reply is not really what i expected as the issue is a hardware problem not the software so it will be interesting to see the outcome in four weeks time,im not holding my breath.Feel free to use the email address for Skoda UK to register your complaints on this issue. "We are aware of a small number of OCTAVIA A8 vehicles which have reported some interruptions in the functionality of certain driver assist systems, which is being investigated. ŠKODA UK are always looking to improve the operating parameters of our vehicles during their life span and we understand a software update will be released shortly which should address these experiences. We are hoping to have a resolution in the next 4 weeks. Thank you for your patience.
