  1. Kessy can be temporarily AND permanently disabled. From the manual...
  2. Had my VRS in for its 30K service last week and this was one of the issues I mentioned when book it in. Its happened three times in the the 18 months I've had it. VERY strange. Sometimes almost sounds musical in an electronic / industrial sort of way. On picking up the car the service rep went through the issues I'd raised and said the white noise was a known problem and should now be resolved after a software update. Fingers crossed it is...
  3. Sorry to hear you're still having issues. Mine went in for its first service a few weeks back and the software was updated at the same time. Some weirdness since that wasn't an issue prior to the update is that the blind spot warning will fire at seemingly random times, and on power up the stereo blasted us with what sounded like a cross between white noise and techno music AT FULL VOLUME ! Neither of our phones had connected. The only way we could stop it was with a reset of the infotainment system. Edit: The wait at Sydney City Skoda was less than 2 weeks.
  4. Hello from Aus ! Unfortunately we have crippled functionality in this hemisphere 😉 Media playback from a USB drive is about the only thing I can think of.
  5. No issues reading codes here.
  6. Post back with your results !!
  7. Hi Dave, can you provide links please ? I hope I haven't done any permanent damage 😬
  8. Strangely I WAS able to add g-meter but not power and torque displays. Seems a bit hit and miss
  9. I don't think so. Well... unless you had a piece of metal sticking out of your tyre also ? Thinking about my earlier post, being that I had no idea of the flat, the car potentially saved me $600 if you factor in potential damage to the rim.
  10. When leaving work the other night the car started alarming that front assist was not available. Like any modern computer, the fix was to turn it off and back on again I hesitate to winge too much though as the tyre pressure monitor saved me $300 yesterday by telling me the rear left tyre was flat.
  11. That HAS to be wrong ! I'd go back to your source and ask them for THEIR source.
  12. I have the 2L turbo petrol and couldn't be happier with it. Last trip I averaged 5.8l/100km and travelled 760km on a tank. Although due to the car having a PPF and Australia's comparatively dirty petrol, I'm forced to put premium unleaded ( 95RON ) in the tank.
  13. Not as prepared as I'd hoped. After waiting patiently for 6 months and still not having a delivery date, I cancelled my Kia Sorento and bought an Octavia the following day.
  14. Add fuel economy to that list. I averaged 5.8l/100km on a trip last weekend and travelled 760km before stopping to refill.
  15. It's pretty disappointing that you weren't offered a courtesy car considering your car is less that 2 weeks old and they've asked to keep the car overnight. Can I ask which dealership you're using ? I've read if you hold the Home and Menu buttons for 10 seconds you can access the service menu. There might be more software versions that can be checked there after updates.
  16. Thanks for the tip @TheUltraRunner. The problem fixed itself and was gone the next time we drove the car about an hour later.
  17. Oh dear ! I think you've jinxed me @DaveFromSydney. Jumped in the car this morning after work and found the seat heater buttons had disappeared from the screen. it's the first real issue I've had with the infotainment screen. Luckily I'd turned on the setting to heat the seat when it's cold on startup, but it seems this only applies to the drivers seat. My wife arrived home with a cold bum. Will leave the car powered off for a while and see if it re-appears.
  18. Nice to know your issues are taken seriously. Keep us posted
  19. Just saw a typo in my above post Is there really no way to edit posts ?
  20. It's interesting that updates are available. I've checked the Skoda update portal which says my car is up to date. My software versions are attached and identical to yours. I'd be interested to see yours after the update. Re the Navigation, personally I find it no where near as good as Google maps simply due to the fact that the car has no data connection and hence maps are not 'live'. No traffic. closures, and road works info. This is very disappointing as I find the map integration in the main screen awesome. Also the navigation lane guidance is pretty terrible, waiting until the absolute last moment before showing which lane you need to be in. My saviour here is that Google maps directions are shown on the HUD which I was not expecting and very pleased to see. As for the active safety systems, probably because I'm a huge techno nerd, I leave them on and enjoy them. Even the auto stop / start ! My wish for this vehicle : That Skoda Australia enable online services. it's obvious the car has everything it needs but has just been crippled for who knows what reasons. Getting the car online would allow live maps, personalisation or settings and keys, and usage of the Skoda Connect app.
  21. I can't work out how to edit posts so... One issue I forgot: While using Travel Assist on a multi lane freeway, occasionally the car will refuse to pass a car in an adjacent lane unless I tap the accelerator. Doesn't seem to matter if the car is left or right of mine. Other frustrations: Menu settings to connect the car to a wifi hotspot, but with no access to Skoda Connect, this setting is completely useless. Menu setting to allow easy access to the drivers seat on entry. When you try to turn it on, it always says 'Currently Unavailable'. Dealer says it's not available in Aus.
  22. Hi Dave ! I'm in regional NSW and also picked up my Octavia RS (Sedan) from Sydney last week. I'm not experiencing the problems as you describe except: - the speed in HUD, my understanding is that is a feature of Traffic Sign Recognition which is conveniently disabled for us plebs here in Aus. - I also have multiple characters per key on the on screen keyboard. My only real complaint apart from having features turned off for no apparent reason ( TSR, online services )… is that I can't set a default drive mode, can't permanently disable the simulated engine noise, and wireless charging while using wireless Android Auto is useless. It makes the phone red hot AND the phone LOSES charge ! When I get a chance I'll post my soft/hardware versions for comparison.
