Latest software update
My car went in for a specific software fix to deal with the popping /SOS fault. No change recorded on the software versions listing but my car has been problem free for several weeks since the update

What tyres did you get?
Same tyre on mine and same observation

I hate to tempt fate but yes my car was booked in for a specific software-only update to solve this problem. So far it hasn’t happened again since the update

Ah that’s bad on Skoda’s account. I would report that back to the service/repair centre. I can only presume that’s there’s a specific software module for this fix and that wasn’t part of the upgrades they did. Hopefully they can fix it with another visit 😬. No recurrence for me since I had the software fix. Good luck.

This is what shows on my system screen which I believe is unchanged. The guy at the service centre said it was caused by the switch over to 5G masts by some service providers. The double click was caused by a control unit that connects with Skoda central not working properly due to these changes. That’s why lots more people are reporting the sos system fault.

Ok so I had my software update on Friday. 300 mile round trip yesterday fault free and no problems today on 2 journeys. I’m hopeful that the SOS fault issue is fixed. 😀- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
That sounds encouraging. Mine goes in tomorrow for the software “fix”. Fingers crossed- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
I’ve had these exact symptoms with the sat nav sometimes after I have the sos fault, which is happening on a daily basis at the moment- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
13th August. A bit of a backlog. I’ll let you know how it goes- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Yes it might be worth asking again. Unless I’m being fobbed off with a software update that won’t solve the issue. If that turns out to be the case, there will be a lot of other disappointed customers too. Here’s hoping that it does fix the fault(s)- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Well I’ve booked my car in for a software update “fix” for the sos system fault. It’s happened 6 times in the last 7 days. The service centre said I was the 5th that day and they’d taken 8 further bookings in the last couple of days for the fault- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
The popping/sos fault has just returned to my car after nearly a month of trouble free motoring 😬 also had the sat nav losing position. Strange how it mirrors its faulty location on the Skoda sat nav and google maps through apple car play- Anyone found anything in the Shop?
I can’t really remember how many there were before but there now seems to be a pretty full spectrum from red through violet. It’s nice having the choice but hardly a must have.- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Tishout, sorry to hear that you are still having the problem. I hope Skoda sorts it out soon. You you’ll always try letting some air out of your tyres 😉- Anyone found anything in the Shop?
Well I spent the money on the high beam assist and the extra colours😊 I was disappointed that my spec didn’t include hba from the start as my last car had it and it worked really well. So having got it I thought “what the hell” and got the extra colours. I’d just spent 25 grand on the car anyway- Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
I had this issue. I posted on it a few weeks ago. I started making a log of faults. I had problems on every journey Double clicking from dash, sos system fault message, sat nav, acc issues. Then it stopped! Not had a problem for nearly 2k miles. The only thing I did between it constantly faulting and working fine was let a load of air out of the overinflated tyres (tip on this site re poor pdi’s for new vehicles). Coincidence surely? I’m beginning to love the car now. (2.0 tdi 150 SEL hatch, averaging 60mpg since new)- Software/fault reporting
Interesting you get this too. This loud double click or crack seems to come from above my head. It happens about twice every journey. It’s loud and quite disconcerting. The latest issue I had when I finished my journey today was the radio wouldn’t switch off. No response from either volume control or mute, nor when the infotainment system was switched off, when I exited or locked the car. In the end I rebooted the infotainment system with the 20second hold on the off button and it finally stopped. Maybe that will have cleared some of the other glitches 🤔- Software/fault reporting
Ok since writing this I’ve read a few threads on this rather excellent forum. It seems I am getting off quite lightly with my issues- Software/fault reporting
Hi everyone. I am a new Octavia owner 2.0tdi 150hp SEL manual hatchback. The car is 1 month old c 1000 miles. I love the car but have had a few issues in the last few days. 3 reported faults 1x oil sensor fault, 2 x error emergency calls. Also my user settings temporarily lost along with some digital display features. After a few hours these faults disappeared when the car was next started up. The first time this happened I booked a service visit, then cancelled it when the fault warning disappeared. Also, I have noticed sporadically a couple of loud cracks in quick succession. Sounds like a stone hitting the roof or windscreen, or maybe the door locking activating (it isn’t this) Does any of this sound familiar or has engine else experienced these issues? As the car is new I’m not sure if these are just software related bugs. One image example attached Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks - Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
