According to my dealer there is no fix and Skoda UK are also saying the same thing. It could be that you will be a test of a real fix but I doubt it.

Help, Anyone know much about rejecting finance faulty cars please?
So I am 2 and a half weeks into ownership. My car has been in for 1 and half weeks for numerous issues I reported on day 2 of ownership. This includes issues with standard features such as ACC and options such as blind spot detection. I spoke to the dealer yesterday and they have said that Skoda is working on a software update but when I pushed them for a date they couldn't tell me and told me to speak to Skoda UK. Skoda UK couldn't give me a date, even when I suggested that I would reject the car. I spoke to the dealer again today, I could only get hold of the salesman and said I was considering rejecting the vehicle so I am now waiting a call back from the business manager tomorrow. I don't really want to lose the car - new car prices have gone up so the same spec will cost more and on a long lead time, I am currently on a 0% finance deal, any used car is likely to cost more as the prices are good at the moment and finance is always more expensive. I am currently thinking that if the update comes out in 2 months and fixes the problem I would be kicking myself for getting shot of the car that I really want to keep. I am however concerned that at the end of next week I will be at the 30 day mark and my rights are reduced, the garage can reduce what it offers can be reduced based on wear and tear. Has anyone had experience of negotiating for a full refund after the first 30 days? is there anything that could be negotiated today that means I keep the car until the update comes out and if it works I keep it and if it doesn't I can reject it? Sorry Skoolboyerror, I am not trying to hijack your post

I am not sure how to link between posts but its worth while reading a post titled - The good, the (not so) bad and definitely not ugly Octavia iV Estate. People on there are quoting figures such as 96mpg and 800 miles on a tank. I think I had about 60 miles before a top up was required and covered 300 miles, not very good in comparison given the premum that comes with a hybrid.

I cant remember where I read it but the car is suposed to be able to use the sat nav route to work out how to efficiently swap between battery and petrol. If it doesnt do that you end up with the situation I had, where 90% of the journey is on petrol and you only get 40 ish mpg. I remember someone posting on here that they got 100+ mpg on a long run. No where near the 200+ mpg quoted by skoda but a lot better than 40mpg I got. If I find a link to how it is supposed to work I will post on here.

I collected my car 6 days ago and it is on 1804. I have the ACC issue that wont let me overtake, The ACC picking random speeds The car not auto switching from battery to hybrid when on a long journey sat nav not in MPH, blind spot detection not working, lane assistance not working consistently and allowing me to drive on the rumble strip between the hard shoulder and normal driving position lane assistance repeatedly telling me (by alarm and voice) to get into the middle of the lane when I already was in the correct position issue with the screen shutting down or going randomly to the screen that asks me what I want to do. the car is now in the garage for the week, I m not impressed and it is going to be interesting to see what they do.

The usual cruise control issues, blind spot detection and lane assust not working, the sat nav mph issue plus some other random things. Not a great first experience

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
I have only had my car one day but following one 250 mile round trip I learnt that during the day or when the motorway was lit the car thought I was in Europe, when the motorway was dark it thought I was in the UK I went past cars on my left without an issue. I also learnt that the car that lane assist will work when it wants to work and will repeatedly tell you to get in lane if you are on a stretch of road with narrow lanes such as those on the A3 near Wimbledon plus my car has no idea that cars are next to it even though I paid for the blind spot detection.

Got mine last night - VRs iv plus about 3k in extras. What a disapointment when I did a 250 mile trip today. So many issues - for those waiting for their car be glad you are and hope they fix them before you pick it up. To top it all off I ended up with 40 mpg from a hybrid - not impressed.

Delivery times?
Good to see a few people are getting their cars. Had an update from Skoda UK by email - We're just getting in touch to let you know that your car is still in production and may take a little longer there than previously anticipated. Like many other manufacturers and other sectors of industry, we are experiencing some supply chain issues and a few of our components are in short supply, in particular those relating to semi-conductor chips, which have reduced our production capacity. This means delivery times for some of our model lines are longer than we would normally expect. Please be assured we are working hard to deliver your chosen vehicle as quickly as possible and your retailer will keep you up to date with what’s happening. If you are experiencing difficulties due to the delay, please don’t hesitate to contact your ŠKODA retailer who will work with you to find the best solution, and can advise on the limited supply of cars which are available from stock. We’ll notify you by e-mail when your car is ready to leave the factory, and your Retailer will then be in touch to let you know when it’s due to arrive with them.

VRs iV estate, Not sure how they prioritise what they are doing, it all seems a bit random.

Delivery times?
I just spoke to the garage about mine, I ordered it last week in July and it has just gone into production. They wouldn't commit to when I would get it.

Delivery times?
I just spoke to customer services earlier today. I placed my order at the end of July and was told today that it was booked to go into build at the beginning of October. I did ask if they were feeding back a 2022 delivery date to anyone at the moment, I was not given a specific answer to that question, only that build is normally 2 weeks but could take up to 8 weeks. I was also told that the situation is changing and to call back in a couple of weeks. The lady was very apologetic that she couldn't be more precise and didn't want to lie about the date. I think there is lots of speculation and lots of variables, only 2 things are certain until a car goes into build nothing is certain when the car is in build nothing is certain

Diesel 4x4 vrs dsg
Ive had a couple of cars with DPF filters and never had an issue. My understanding is as long as the engine gets to temperature you wont have any issues. Even if its been a problem while leased, as long as you do enough miles it wont be an issue as it will clear the filter. If you only drive 1/2 mile down the road and the engine is still warming up don't touch them. I agree with the comments about the auto box being a little annoying, you go to overtake or going up a small incline and it drops down a gear but from my limited experience of autos, that's an issue with with any auto. Having said that, if you drive in a city and have a lot of queues and stop starts it makes driving easier.
