  1. The spare key turns the immobiliser message off, but won't crank the cr as the 12v battery is low?
  2. Hi all, VCDS is throwing this up in an autoscan. No warning lights or anything, doesn't register as an actual fault. Any ideas?
  3. Have OBDEleven, does some basic things, but to do adaptions it's subscription based. I'm going to keep it for quick code reading if out and about as connects to mobile. But going to get vcds for at home, as the yearly subscription for obdeleven would soon exceed it.
  4. Ideally you need a puller, I'd be nervous using any shock tactics near the glass.
  5. Autodoc said they'd take it back, so all boxed up and ready to send. Mines lasted quite a while, I gave it another clean out, as I had it off, better than before too! Had more fluid in there, I think some was washer fluid, so I sealed the shaft in from the inside as well, with some silicone. I also have some nice silicone super lube now, so spammed it up with that all inside.
  6. be careful on autodoc, just gone to fit mine and it doesn't have the washer fluid connection. Now I need to se if I can send it back!
  7. Turning it the wrong way? Sometimes I've found them quite tight.
  8. Had to do the same. I have bought another unit, for when this one goes wrong again.
  9. It appears mines mainly the poly bushes. I jacked the car up and took the wheels off, got right in there and managed to get some fresh silicon grease in. Seems much better now. I do think the top mounts are making a smidge of noise, but not enough to worry about right now. And that's only at slow manoverring
  10. I wiggled the drop links around yesterday, they seem ok, but I would change them at the same time, as it's not worth not doing it.
  11. Did you pull the driveshaft out a bit and damage the seal? Assume it's a manual, not dsg. Does it look like it's been leaking for a while, lots of oil around and you've only just noticed? Driveshafts ok, CV joints not worn? How many miles on the car?
