  1. If you have an estate car it is probably a Mk III. This forum is for the Mk IV. Perhaps re-post on the Mk III forum! Good luck with your Sat Nav issue. By the way you can download a PDF version of the manual on the Skoda website - you need the VIN I think - see below. https://manual.skoda-auto.com/210/en-gb/Models
  2. Hi Jesmond - welcome to the forum. I would advise posting this important query in the MkIII forum - there are many estate owners posting on there. (If you have an estate, it can’t be a MkIV as Skoda decided not to produce one).
  3. Hi Ariton Where are you based? In the UK we don’t have a Style model. We have S, SE Comfort, SEL, Colour Edition and Monte Carlo. From SEL upwards auto dimming mirror is standard. As far as I can see it is not an option for S and SE Comfort models. You can easily tell on your own country’s configurator if the Style model has the feature you want - look at the interior picture, on the configurator Summary, of the rear view mirror. The one I have added shows that the little lever - circled in yellow - is there to operate the dimming manually on the SE Comfort. Let us know if you find the answer. Hope this helps! Out of interest, when did your dealer say the car would arrive?
  4. I took the liberty of translating Pedro’s message: ”Sorry for my writing. Today I tried the new 95CV Fabia and I liked it a lot, I put photos of the car and I tell them that I bought the one they had in the exhibition, they will deliver it to me next Thursday, it is the same as the one in the photos but it will be with six speeds and 110CV.” We definitely have our first MK IV owner!
  5. Hi Tim1631 - many thanks for your very supportive comment. I should point out that the £22000 is the price before the discounts I mentioned. Also I am not interested in a Karoq. I am comparing the Polo I have ordered to the Fabia I wanted to order which is well over £23000 with no support from Skoda yet on PCP. Are you suggesting that anyone looking at a small hatchback should really just go for a Karoq because you happened to get a good deal?
  6. In fact Jamesmaher63 the Polo is less expensive! I have just ordered a Polo Life DSG (95 PS) in Smokey Grey metallic. I was pleasantly surprised by the standard spec of the car - includes folding mirrors, adaptive cruise, virtual cockpit, LED dipped beam, LED rear lights, paddles on steering wheel and travel assist. I just added heated seats, rear view camera and spare wheel. VW are giving £750 contribution and dealer chipped in £500 so good value on PCP. Total cost for the car is £22020. I would have preferred the 110 PS engine but this is only available on the R-line which is a pity. The R-line with its fake exhausts and significantly higher price did not appeal. (I was able to take a test drive with the 95 PS engine and was relieved that it had enough power for me). For once in my view VW UK have pitched their offering well. As you know I have been waiting for the new Fabia but this has proved very disappointing, more expensive and with fewer factory-fit options available, too many of which are in the form of ‘packs’. This shows, sad to say, that Skoda UK have simply got this launch wrong for customers who want to customise their order.
  7. I agree Minigill! Having spent a bit of time looking over the brochure it works for the S and SE Comfort models where buyer will probably not bother with any extras. I am not impressed though for those of us looking to personalise their choice. I think I am now going to go for my 2nd choice - a Scala SE with quite a few extras. The Scala has the bigger boot I’m after, a £2250 deposit contribution and is an established model. Still have to bear the 6 to 9 month lead time. It will work out a fair bit cheaper for me as well. I wish I hadn’t waited for the Fabia to be honest.
  8. As well as the options being scary there a few missing from what is offered elsewhere. I was keen to have folding mirrors, blind spot monitoring and a folding front passenger seat but as far as I can see they are not being offered. Also too many ‘Packages’. For instance you cant specify a variable boot floor on its own. Same with heated front seats. Overall this is a disappointing offering from Skoda UK. As SurreyJohn says there is quite a price penalty to pay here as well as poorer choice than on the continent.
  9. Thanks for that Wiegott - sounds good! Can I clarify one thing? If you switch off Lane Assist (as I intend to do) does the Blind Spot Monitor still work okay? You seem to suggest they work together to stop you changing lanes if there is a car coming up too close behind? I just want the light to flash on the rear wing mirror if there is a car coming into my blind spot. Thanks.
  10. I’m interested in ordering a new Scala SE and the salesman got the latest lead times on the Skoda System for the various Scala models - see below. He did add that these are estimates and could well be even longer.
  11. My first post on the Scala forum! I have a 2019 Fabia hatch 110PS auto. I find the boot a bit small, especially when going on holiday. I think the Scala might suit me and I am looking at options. The one I am unsure about is the Blind Spot monitor. Does it work well? Is it worth having? I think I’ll go for the SE model to keep infotainment/air con straightforward.
  12. I’ve been keeping an eye on brokers websites - they tend to be fed the specs of new cars first. The link below has details on the new Fabia: https://www.coast2coastcars.co.uk/car-quote/ They mention lots of Option Packs but no detail on what is in them! Not many options for SE Comfort and it only seems to have the Swing infotainment system. It looks like the SE Colour Edition will suit me - manual air con, Bolero infotainment and more options (I think). I enclose the price list they had on their website.
  13. Great article e-Root! Thanks for posting. As I’ve said before I hope the SE Comfort’s infotainment (Bolero?) is a more user friendly, simpler system.
  14. No, apparently orders will open on 28th September and first deliveries will arrive by the end of the year. I hope the brochure/price list is published soon to see what combinations are available. The prices seem reasonable - not a lot more than existing prices. I wont be ordering before a test drive though. See Skoda press release below. https://skodamedia.com/en-gb/releases/1245
  15. I found the website below when looking for the new on-line Fabia instruction manual (unfortunately you need a VIN to download the manual). The link shows a group of videos explaining the infotainment features and is quite useful. https://www.skoda-auto.com/services/new-fabia-videos Edit: Strike the bit about needing a VIN! The link below gives you access to the new Fabia manual. The file is in sections. https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/36490e6c91cd0909ac1445252fd5b3f4_1_en_GB?ct=36490e6c91cd0909ac1445252fd5b3f4_1_en_GB#titled84721607e745
  16. Mike Rutherford in Auto Express today describes exactly why I’m reluctant to go with a ‘top spec’ Fabia. See article below: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/opinion/355800/latest-infotainment-systems-some-vws-arent-fit-purpose When we finally see what’s on offer in the UK hopefully the lower spec cars will have more user friendly infotainment systems. At least the Fabia Estate will be available as a good alternative!
  17. Hi Timmy - thanks for clarifying that it is easy to switch off! I really enjoyed your video. It’s great that you are on here and have actually driven the Mk 4 - hopefully you can keep us updated if you learn more about the car. I wonder if you would help me with a few queries? I was wondering if you managed to see/try any other versions of the Mk 4? For example the model down from the top of the range models you always seem to get to drive at launches. I ask because I wonder if the SE Comfort model would be a better choice as it probably will have the ‘simpler’ Bolero infotainment system and ordinary air con. The video linked above by vrskeith is another video done by Thomas at Autogefuel. While praising the car overall, he is a bit critical of the top-line infotainment unit and the dual zone air con because the adjustments are too awkward - for example to change the air con fan speed you have to use the screen. Also the unit still has bugs and is a bit slow to respond. Maybe an SE Comfort model with a few extras would be a better, even safer, choice? It will be good to have a look at the UK configurator to see the detailed specs coming here when it is finally published. Thanks again for posting.
  18. The guy on the video said lane assist can be switched off with two quick button presses on the steering wheel.
  19. There are a few reviews in after the launch event in Poland: Auto Car: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/skoda/fabia/first-drives/skoda-fabia-2021-review Auto Express: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/fabia/355793/new-skoda-fabia-2021-review and What Car: https://www.whatcar.com/news/2022-skoda-fabia-review-prices-specs-and-release-date/n23391 It seems to have been well received. I found one video review in English that gives a full report on the car:
  20. I’ve been scanning some Czech websites for launch info and found a reference to an event in Poland next week when the press will be able to test drive the new Mk 4. Hopefully this is right - the car was announced in early May and has now been in production for 4 weeks so it would be nice to finally learn more about it! Like RickW, the look of the car is growing on me.
  21. Below is a copy of the configuration I made up of a Fabia Style. If you work out the cost (29.55 Czech Crowns to the pound sterling) it seems quite low compared to UK prices. Note it gives the standard spec as well.
  22. The new Fabia is available on the Czech website - see link below. If you click on the Czech entry (top right) you can choose the configurator in English! It works really well - just like the UK configurator we have. I configured a Style version in Graphite in what I reckon will be close to the SE spec we might get. I’ll try to post a copy of the configuration I did in a fresh post. https://cc.skoda-auto.com
  23. I was sure I would not like the new Fabia - Infotainment too complicated, too intrusive ‘assistance’ systems etc, etc. I was sure I was going to go for a new Mk3 Estate for my new 22 plate car. However I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far and I will therefore wait and see what Skoda UK offer us before deciding. I was able to capture a a screenshot that shows the dimensions of Mk3 vs Mk4. Note that, while the body is wider, the mirror to mirror dimension is smaller - if correct that will help getting the car into the garage. The other pictures show the Graphite Grey which I really like. Having looked at the Kamiq and Scala forums and their SE spec sheets I wonder if the SE spec Fabia Mk4 might be the sweet spot for me. The SE will have the Bolero unit which is more user friendly I think. If the lane assist is easy to switch off, the Fabia SE might just be a good compromise. It will be good to get a test drive to check that out.
  24. The Mk 4 will be launched on the 4th May. It will be good to see the actual car both inside and out.
  25. First YouTube video of prototype. Sounds good!
