  1. Fair points. Few points on the mk 4 octavia - the stop start button is buried in a touch screen menu - not as instantly accessible as in the old models. the engine cuts before you reach a complete halt - almost as if the car is predicting your next move. back to the original post by @rickhoy615 - can someone point me to an instructional on how to switch off said system?
  2. Yes - if you are not moving and in D So if you pull up to a junction and stop even just for a moment, the engine dies. You then floor it to get into a gap in the traffic and you get a full 1-2 second wait before it lurches into action. It is most irritating in busy city driving. I had the system on my last two cars, one was petrol and manual (Golf GTI) that was fine, the other was petrol and DSG (VW Arteon) and that was fine too, however I think the TDI Diesel engines take a fraction longer to fire up (current car is VRS Diesel) only my observation though and someone technical may correct me on this.
  3. I've been looking for this! Stopstart is a stupid system - as you say it chooses the worst moments to cut out, usually just as your about to go for a gap on a roundabout or something. Can you post some more details on how to do this?

Oh you misery. Of course everyone knows that but a photo of the speedo is perfect for bragging rights. 😊

Sooo. just got back from a trip to Deutschland with Octavia VRS Diesel... on the return journey I finally got a section of autobahn that was clear and hit 260kph (161mph) pretty impressed as that is beyond the 'book' figure!
  6. @Ado12345 No - been back a couple of times and they say Skoda are aware of it and will release a fix in due course - could be 2 weeks, could be 2 years. Not impressed as it really is spoiling what is otherwise a nice car
  7. I am having this exact same issue on my mk4 VRS - it just won't let you change it from right-hand to left-hand. I am also having an issue with the ACC where it slows down for cars in the left hand lane, I wonder if this is part of the same issue? (If I was driving on the right, to pass a car on the left would be undertaking if that makese sense?) Be interested to see if there is a fix?
  8. What is PPF? (sorry to be dumb)
  9. Took delivery of ex-demo VRS last week. Apart from a fairly naff experience with the main dealer who sold it to me as a distance sale, so far so good. I'm still waiting on a few smart repairs etc for cosmetic issues they ommitted to tell me about, but wondered if anyone else has had the following two issues: 1.) Door sill / kick plate lettering worn off - you can literally rub it off with a finger hence it looks very tatty - awaiting replacement parts from the dealer to fix this. 2.) Cupholder with some of the springy arms retracted and not coming out - does anyone have a quick fix for this? (And yes, that picture is how clean it was when it was delivered...) Not had any major issues with infotainment or other systems so far
