  1. Surely that can't be my issue if the car has done only 2k?!
  2. I took a recording of the noise. It's not great audio quality unfortunately. It was in the morning and it was actually making the noise when I began to accelerate as well as lifting off. Any further suggestions? Voice_005_001.mp3
  3. I think I used the wrong word, it's not really a woosh, at least not one I'd associate with a turbo.
  4. Hi guys, Have been enjoying my 62 Octavia petrol vRS since I got it in November - up to 2k miles now. I've looked through countless DSG threads and haven't read anything similar yet. I noticed a noise about a month ago when driving very slowly in low gears (this could be just because there are no other noises to mask it). It's most noticeable in 2nd gear. If I drive along at 5-10mph and then lift off the accelerator there is short woosh type noise that appears to emanate from the gear box area. It is barely audible and in no way sounds metallic (if that's relevant). It sounds as if something is disengaging perhaps. I know that my description is fairly poor, I can't seem to put what I'm hearing into words very well! Does anyone else's DSG box make this noise in similar circumstances? Is this a normal noise? I noticed a month ago, but it is so quiet that it could have been happening from new to be honest. Any ideas? Thanks
  5. I'm jealous of the red stitching, looks great. Such a shame there wasn't a full leather with coloured stitching option :(
  6. I've washed my new Skoda every week since I got it (4 weeks ago). My track record on previous cars was terrible. "This is different" I tell myself. I joined DW and have spent £300 since on products. I had it professionally detailed when I bought it and washing has been a pleasure so far. Last week I citrus pre-washed and rinsed only and it looked 95% clean which I reckon is good enough when it's circa 0c outside.
  7. 70K would be average mileage on a 6-7 year old car. If you had a car of that age but with your mileage I'm sure you would expect some wear and tear.
  8. I had Proxes on my MKI Leon Cupra and they were great in the wet and dry. However, they were absolutely diabolical in the snow!
  9. My brand new Octavia xenons have had a light condensation in them a couple of times. Was initially quite concerned too, but having read comments about them having 'breather' vents, I'm less worried. If it develops into full blown sweat beads though I'll be back here lol.
  10. Yes my 2012 FL xenons do the full hokey cokey.
  11. Think the OP was commenting on their range of motion compared with his old Seat as opposed to enabling/disabling. No doubt someone with VCDS will have tried?
  12. Don't blame you mate. I think we'd like to think we'd have gone vigilante on their asses, but in reality that's not always the best thing to do! You've certainly given me food for thought about parking as far away from everyone else as possible though.
  13. You seem quite calm about the whole ordeal Dougall....?! If I thought that was about to go off I think I would have gone postal! Agree with all of the other comments, I'm paranoid about parking in car parks too. Although I must admit, I don't really rate the 'use two spaces' technique. I can see why people take exception to this.
