Android Auto/Amundsen/Phone model Which phone do you have?
The Amundsen software was updated at the dealer's which they said would solve the issue. I'll report in a few weeks when I have tried it out over various distances. My Samsung A52S is running Android 12 and I used TomTom which I think is the best around in that you can select an exact route, save it to your account then access saved routes to use in the car by first getting the route running on your mobile then open the app on Android Auto. You get speed camera alerts and traffic info too. The issue the car went in for was an annoying rattle on start up and when driving over 50mph. It was a part underneath that wasn't secured properly when I had a tow bar fitted. I was informed that 'rattles' are only covered by the warranty for the first six months but they gave me 1 hour work f.o.c. It was an easy fix apparently so no charge.

Android Auto/Amundsen/Phone model Which phone do you have?
I have a Samsung A52s and it disconnects randomly from Android Auto then reconnects. The car is going in for another matter and I have asked the garage to have a look at this problem too, but I don't have much confidence that they can help. I wonder if the phone make/model makes a difference to how solid the connection is, hence this new topic. Google Pixel phones seem to be recommended but being a touch cynical, that could be manipulation by Google to sell more phones.

Photo of dashcam in Kamiq please.
Thank you for the photos and the time and effort taken. Much appreciated. Looks really neat. The photos are very good. I wasn't going to bother with a rear camera but an idiot HGV driver changed my mind on the M53 yesterday. I agree with having them as an option.

Thank you for your reply. I would still like to see a photo of one in situ if possible, anyone.

I am considering fitting a dashcam to my Kamiq. It would be helpful if someone who has done this could post a photo showing its position in their Kamiq.

Mudflaps ?
I used to live in a small village where there was a lot of cow traffic and the usual slurry on the roads so mudflaps were a good idea. I now live in an area devoid (mostly) of farm traffic so don't have mudflaps. I haven't seen any reason to fit them for the past 10 years. It's down to personal choice I suppose.

Dealer fit reversing camera
I cannot remember seeing different versions of the reversing camera, highline or lowline, when I was looking at the Kamiq on the Skoda UK site. My dealer fitted the one shown as a factory fitted option on the Kamiq SEL where the boot release is changed for one with the camera to the right. It works very well and is clear and bright in all light conditions. It would appear that the one I have now is the same as the factory fitted one, including the software.

Dealer fit reversing camera
Thank you for the replies. The reversing camera is a genuine Skoda kit. As you can see I have the green and red lines but not the yellow. I wonder if Olderman1, you have park assist in your Kamiq? You have more options to the right of the screen. Perhaps that is why you have the yellow predictor lines.

Dealer fit reversing camera
Has anyone else had a reversing camera fitted by a dealer? Just had one fitted to my Kamiq and they have made a really good job of it. I would like to compare screens to see if I have the right software for mine.

skoda-parts.com
I understand what you are saying but it's been a while now since we left the EU and I would have thought that they would be aware of the increase in costs for transport by now. The annoyance I felt with them was that they quoted a low figure for delivery and took payment. To me that is a contract which should be honoured, but they didn't. I'm probably old fashioned in thinking that but I won't go back to let them have another go.

Which file format for music
I've read up on the different file formats and would have to agree that FLAC would be the best, in theory, but surely the most important thing is how each format sounds when played through whatever device you are using at the time. In this case, I was looking for the best format for the Infotainment system fitted as standard in my Kamiq SEL. All the formats I tried sound the same. Is it my ears and all the other bits which my head uses to listen to sounds or is it the infotainment system? I've put it down to the car's sound system. I've got Sonos Radio HD on a month's free trial and the difference between that and the non-HD Sonos Radio is clear. Given that it costs £7.99 a month for the privilege of continuing to use it after the free trial, I have decided not, but that's another topic.

Very flimsy usb c ports
On the assumption that Skoda keep an eye on all the relevant forums, I thought I would start a new topic on this. Whoever thought that putting two usb c ports in such a daft spot and compounded that by making them easy to damage should be sent for retraining. I can see from other posts/topics that I am not alone in having this view. I have partially solved this by buying two right angle usb c cables https://www.kenable.co.uk/en/usb-cables-adapters/usb-type-c-cables/usb-c-cables/8783-right-angle-usb-31-type-c-to-usb-30-type-a-socket-adapter-cable-otg-008783-5055383487837.html. I know that this has been covered before but wanted to raise it again as it took me quite a while and a few different purchases to come up with the best solution to this.

Usb C how do you connect to usb 3 Memory stick?
I agree with the comments about the flimsy usb c ports. Location is poor too. I have tried adaptors: they stick out too far and make it a handy lever to wreck the port. Bought a couple of the cables from here https://www.kenable.co.uk/en/usb-cables-adapters/usb-type-c-cables/usb-c-cables/8783-right-angle-usb-31-type-c-to-usb-30-type-a-socket-adapter-cable-otg-008783-5055383487837.html. They're good quality and not too pricey. They solve the problem of the ports being open to dust and any other bits. I can use any of my usb A memory sticks and the two Scandisk micro usb flash drives I used in the last car work very well and are small enough to tuck out of the way.

Favourites in Amundsen satnav
Select a destination as normal then screen shown in SatNav1 appears. Choose 'More' which leads to SatNav2. Select the yellow star at top right which leads to SatNav3, screen asking for 'Save destination as..' Pick a name, press OK, which leads to SatNav4 which now shows a solid yellow star and three choices at the bottom of the screen, 'Rename' , 'Call' and 'Start route guid.' To delete a favourite you have to select the favourite destination, then select 'More' and select the solid yellow stat which leads to the deletion. I hope I have got it right.

Favourites in Amundsen satnav
My last car was a Mazda and the settings including favourites were very easy to do. Unfortunately, the sat nav was pants. I have just stumbled on how to save destinations as favourites and also how to delete a favourite. I may be the only one who didn't know how to do this but if there is anyone else who needs a leg up, let me know and I will post the way to go on here.

Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
Following up my post on this, I have been using 32psi on all four tyres , Michelin Primacy 4 205.55.R17. I think I have found the sweet spot for comfort with these wheels and tyres but I will be putting them to a motorway test next month, driving the full length of the M6 which is always a joy. For your information, I was searching the web for a price on 4 Cross Climates when I saw a link on KwikFit for recommended tyre pressures. It gave 30 psi for the Kamiq, front and back for 16 - 18 inch wheels.

Which file format for music
I use Windows Media Player to rip my cd's to file. I have always used the MP3 file format at the best quality level. I thought I would try a different format in the hope that the already very good sound quality from MP3s would improve. To test this theory I selected a cd at random which is Let it be by the Beatles. I used FLAC, WAV, WMA and a fresh MP3, ripping the whole album and putting them on an empty Scandisk micro usbA then connecting that via a usbC to usbA female cable. I've got a right angle adaptor on order which should make using my supply of usb sticks a bit tidier. File sizes for the album were as follows; MP3 80.4mb FLAC 195mb WMA 205mb WAV 355mb Seeing the differences I thought I would get the best sound from WAV but I couldn't tell any difference between the four. Any opinions on this anyone? My car has the Amundsen Infotainment system.

skoda-parts.com
It's in the heading, skoda-parts.com. I had a breakdown, ie invoice, for the original order which included the then quoted delivery charge to the UK; 17 euros. A day or so later I got an email telling me they had made a mistake. Delivery charge was going to be 140 euros. I find it hard to believe that Brexit has caused them to incurr such a large increase in shipping costs.

skoda-parts.com
Yes, but the thing I wanted to highlight was the excessive charge for delivery; 140 euros (roughly £120.00.) I thought this info would be of interest.

skoda-parts.com
I registered on the above site and ordered a spare wheel and spare wheel kit. Basket came to 187.68 euros including delivery to the UK. Later received an email telling me that they couldn't deliver for the cost paid at the time of ordering and the updated cost would be 80 euros for the wheel and 60 euros for the kit, total cost now 327.68 euros. I cancelled the order and got a full refund. Needless to say, I won't be going on that site again.

Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
- Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
This may seem a silly question, but what do you do about the tyre pressure monitor system? Do you have the TPMS valves fitted to the winter wheels or do you make do with standard valves? Another question regarding air pressures; I'm down to 34 psi on the 205/55/R17's and they still feel as though they could do with being a bit less. What would you say is the minimum I could get away with, and what pressures do you have the winter 205/60/R16's at? - Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
