I’m getting cold feet now…………. I think if I commit to buying it I’ll get something in writing to say if the fix fails I get a full refund.

Thank you. The dealer today told me they have the software update but the car I’m going to see is in a long queue, the person who purchased it in august gave up waiting! I think they are making these cars to reliant on software!

Please tell me this issue is now sorted! I have the mk3 at the moment and love it but I’m off to a dealership to test drive a 2024 SE L estate (registered Aug 24). 😳

Just a quick update on this. I eventually got a slot at my local Skoda dealer to investigate this issue, the fault was constant where I had to reset the blind spot monitor and rear traffic alert after every time I selected reverse gear, it even happened at the dealership when I arrived. after a few hours I got a call from the dealership saying there was nothing wrong with the systems and they said the issue was me not setting the 2 driver alerts on the steering wheel !! I was gobsmacked, it was as if they were saying I was at fault! On arrival at the dealership, I tried engaging reverse and the systems remained active (first time in 3 months!). I can’t believe the systems would have just righted themselves at the dealership, nor can I believe the dealership would have identified the fault and fixed it but then tell me they hadn’t done anything! Very strange………

Just to add, went out tonight to try a few things, once I set the assist items then put the car into reverse it disables both assists, if I then re-set them they work fine until I engage reverse again. I’ll ring the Skoda dealership tomorrow…..

So are we saying that my issue is related to a possible fault on my factory fitted tow bar? My car is on an extended warranty.

I haven’t connected my caravan or trailer, are you saying it’s a fault? The car is under warranty?

Could someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong. I have 3 assist systems, blind spot, rear traffic Al and front assist. I have set them to ‘on’ via the steering wheel controls and via the infotainment system, however, each time I get back in the car the blind spot and rear traffic Al are disabled (the front assist always remains activated). very grateful if someone could tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Tried disconnecting the battery after locking the car and as soon as I disconnect the battery the alarm goes off (separate alarm battery). Spoke to a senior mechanic at my local dealership and he said you can’t disconnect the battery unless the car is left unlocked? The other thing he said was if the battery was to fully discharge if left for long periods the alarm would go off! I know this is a anti theft feature but for gods sake! I’m going to have to connect my trickle charger and hope nothing goes wrong - not a happy chappie!

Yes, got that, positive to battery, neg to chassis earth.

Hi guys and gals, wonder if I could get some advice please. I need to go away for a few months and the car will not be used, i don’t really want to come back to a flat battery so I think my options will be: 1. Disconnect the battery. 2. Buy a trickle charger and leave it connected for the duration of my absence. Grateful for any advice, I don’t have a trickle charger so recommendations would be very welcome although leaving a trickle charger connected for a few months scares me somewhat! thanks in advance….. My previous car was a Jaguar which developed a leak from the windscreen scuttle area causing really bad flooding of the passenger side footwells, I had to remove the seats and carpet to dry it out - a total pain! As this is my first superb I just wondered if there were any rain drains I need to keep an eye on to make sure they don’t block up or any other area to check (AC drain?), I never want to have to dry out car carpets again! any help or advice gratefully received…….

Yes, I did a search and saw the issues with freezing and the motor failure is a common fault, what a stupid design failure!!

Agreed, it’s a rubbish gimmick 😏

Had to laugh, ice scraper behind fuel flap which was frozen and couldn’t be opened, minor design fault Mr Skoda!!

Selecting the radio before switching off seems to have done the trick, thanks to all who helped.

Thanks for the reply. It’s just the page that appears each time I start the car, I then press menu, do my journey and switch off the engine, when I re start the engine the tyre page appears again?

Is it normal for the infotainment tyre pressure page to show every time on start up? The tyre pressures are correct and I’ve pressed the confirmation button but it just keeps appearing ever time I start the car? Any help greatly appreciated!
