Replacing rear shocks

Featured Replies

Evening.

I am replacing the rear struts at the weekend, weather permitting.

My question is, is it ok to torque the bolts whilst the car is still on its axle stands and not in the loaded position, like the the control arm bolts, when I replaced the springs, I cannot see how to do it when the wheels are back on?

Is there a way to mimick load/compression?

Have drop links to do at the same time, if I have time.

Any advice welcome.

Update.

Had a brain fart, apologies.

Use my trolley jack and measure distance from centre of hub to wheel arch, then torque.
