grre, the price on kwik fits website is now £49

I had need of Aircon today, black car, in full sun, it was scorching, but the aircon failed to deliver. In the previous summer it was icy cold. The 2 fans at the front of the car run ok when the econ mode is off, so i guess its probably low on coolant/oil. Anything else I can check before I book it in Kwik fit whilst its £29, (KF have been brilliant in the past for this)

I have same issue, one of the sensors was diagnosed faulty, was throwing 2 codes, cant remember what they were. I am told a new one is £79 ish! I forgot to get the part number to see if I can find it cheaper on ebay etc. Also how easy are they to change, i think it was the third sensor.

Cheers booke23, I will see if I can get my mechanic to give it a once over in the morning, they want to take it back off me Thursday and give me a Fabia HTP again which I have had for over a week and they are horrible! -yes they replaced the ns/f headlight with a new unit, the xenons and wash work fine there is just no levelling action going on, although my OCD is going haywire as I have a shiny new headlight unit and a very slightlly faded one the other side

I recently had an accident which meant one of my xenon headlights were replaced, but on receiving the car back , i noticed on ignition my xenon's do not go calibrate like they used to, they used to go up and down, but do not now at all. ( or coming to think of it did they only do it when dark?) i have checked the leveling fuse that was fine, have they forgot to connect something up, both headlights no longer calibrate.

haha I dont think it 'pikey', but I'm sure I remember a thread on here years ago for the fabia VRS called pikey autoboot mod or similar. I suppose the previous owner was thinking of his wife as she was very petite and she had just had twins. the rear wash works fine and does not appear to be leaking.

Thought I would sort out a few niggles today. The rear parking sensors have been intermittant since we had that rain a few weeks ago, when reverse engaged I get 3 second beep, I thought some rain had got in somewhere, today I took all the boot stuff out of my estate, spare wheel, floor etc, and found the bottom wet. I noticed there was a rubber grommet? with a thick wire going through, this must be for the parking sensors, and was wet so cleaned it all out and dried it out as best I could, and the parking sensors are working again. Any where else I should check? I heard there was a controller somewhere but I do not know where. Secondly tried to sort out what the daft previous owner had done, some pikey auto open boot mod. How can I remove these, they look daft as they had rusted, I managed to get a collar? off one of the struts, and removed the strut from the boot, but could not get the plastic end off. do you just pull hard? How is the high level brakelight screwed in, is it from the bottom? as mine seems loose at the jet end, do i need to remove the boot plastic lining to get to it? Passenger sill kickplate was coming off, so i removed it totally and it needs reseating, looks like has been done before with some black double sided tape, although not very well, i have some epoxy resin, ok to use that?

Called the dealer this morning where it was last services, they said the injectors had been done!

Viewed a really nice VRS tdi 07 plate estate round the corner from me, every option apart from satnav I think, got the price down to £5750 (black estate 90k) http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/2007-skoda-octavia-vrs-20-tdi-170bhp/109569350 But then I read the horror stories about the Pd170 (i guess i has that engine) injectors. (DPF issues I know about) I could not see any mention of it being recalled, but only found out after driving it. It was last serviced in Dec 2011 at farmers skoda, would they be able to tell me if the recall was done if I give them the reg? It drove really nice and was a world away from my fabia, I wasnt specifically after a derv, but this has the right spec at the right condition/price, waiting for a petrol estate with toys will be never ending! Am I being paranoid about the injectors?
