Called my dealer today for an update and he said realistically he couldn’t give me a time frame anymore. I order started of this year and since I seen people getting a 2023 date for a car they ordered in 2021 I just gave up. Been to Audi this morning got a brand new A4 Avant for the price of the skoda so that’s me done with skoda. I hope you all get your cars in a decent time frame but I’m not holding out my hope for you.

Ah I’d imagine there was a fix at the cost of the harness manufacturer to address and issue with the harness then.

In terms of bespoke harness what have they modified ? I’d be very interested to know how a harness can be bespoke on a high volume production car.

I hope Skoda can give us all a card or something that says “this person isn’t lying they do really have a new Octavia ordered” cause it’s going to get to a point where no one believes me that I have a new car on order 😂

They didn’t even offer me a coffee when I signed for the car haha. To be honest it’s not the dealers fault they’re clueless. He didn’t believe me when I told him the reason for the semi conductor shortage. He tried to tell me some made up story as to why there was a shortage. I’ll just wait and see but if week 40 rolls around and I’ve heard nothing I’ll just go for another brand.

Well I know what VW have done with the semi conductor shorter so really I should know better but hey I’m a sucker and I’ll pretend 40 weeks is 40 weeks. The fact the dealer told me 40 weeks means when that date hits I’ll call up and ask where my car is. If it’s no where to be seen they’ll have to sweeten the deal 😂

All this news about the fire and the lack of information doesn’t fill me full of hope. I order at the start of the year and was told 40 weeks but I think that might have been a large white lie. Hopefully it all gets ironed out but I think I’m being very hopeful 😂

In hindsight it shouldn’t be that difficult to retrofit the standard wireless charger if the part is available. The charging unit will consist of 2 connectors. One will be a HSD lead that will put into the back of the MIB unit the other will have 3 leads, power, ground, 12v switch. It would be very possible. The wireless charging unit is known as R265. I haven’t managed to find a part number for it as of yet but if you wanted that real clean install that would be the route. However no doubt the unit itself will cost more than it would have cost to option it.

I ordered my Octavia VRS Wagon (U.K.) on January 2nd 2022. Dealer told me around a 40 week wait, he told me it didn’t matter on options and he had seen VRSs turning up faster than other spec models. I’ve gone for reverse cam, front winter pack and DCC. Going from a 7.5 Golf GTI and this will be my first Skoda. Got my first little one due end of feb so after reading this thread I looking toward to getting the car right around my kids 18th birthday 😂

I believe this is the part you need. The radar cover is a separate part to the grill. might be an idea to give skoda a call and quote the part number to confirm though.
