  1. Am I correct in saying it needs to be a 434mhz transponder?
  2. So I tried again following the guide and all I was met with was the incorrect programming fault code in the CCM I then replaced the battery and tried again, unfortunately no luck. I'll live with this until pay day and see what happens with a replacement new fob, hopefully I'll have more luck... Failing that, does anyone know anything about the reciever unit? Is it built in the CCM or is it a separate unit? I'm beginning to wonder if I have a fault inside the CCM, but without proving it and exploring all other options I am very reluctant to purchase a part. I don't like throwing parts at things as it's poor workmanship
  3. Oh yeah I know that, I've had plenty of VAG cars and they all behave differently on VCDS My plan once I inevitably find the cause for one or both is to report back into the forums and create a write up for them also, because we can't be the only 'sorry sods' who have experienced this exact fault or set of faults. At the moment the steering is on the back burner as I don't want to have someone attempt to nick the car and then have the benefit of soft steering to help their escape, as it stands an opportunist will very unlikely be able to get the car off the road we live on. The remote locking issue is haunting nd taunting me, very strange how the alarm was effectively disabled before a scan, but that's a convo for a different post
  4. I don't disagree That's the next step but I ran out of time last night. My only thought as to why this may or may not work is that my steering works perfectly between 9 and 6 when turning left only. To me it feels rack related but I refuse to throw money at parts before I am confident that they're at fault haha Only fault per say on VCDS is that the reference voltage is too low, I have no idea at present what that means, but I totally believe clean battery connections will only do that good, even if the fault isn't resolved
  5. I'll post one tonight, I did remove it and try to repair. It's in my nature as a electro/mechanical service engineer I'll buy a terminal in case, at £2 it doesn't matter if its not needed.
  6. Will do I checked for fault codes, even though the light wasn't illuminated, no codes relating to PAS unfortunately. But I went into the data blocks in VCDS and have found reference voltage too low. I haven't found a set solution to what this exactly means just yet, but I did notice yesterday evening when I performed a battery reset (remote locking faulty too) that the negative terminal on my battery was loose (I.e. it was holding on, but you could spin the terminal on the post). As this will be adding x ohms of resistance I'm going to pick up a new terminal from halfrauds as they're just round the corner from my customer today, replace it and I'll report back my findings... the way I see it, for £2.33 even if it doesn't help, which I'm sure it probably won't, at least I'm fixing the battery issue before something else goes out
  7. I was trying this or very similar! I'll try again tomorrow and see how we get on 🤞🤞
  8. I will check when I next get an early finish... but when the key was in ignition and I took the barrel out I was able to activate the CL with a screwdriver both directions. As in it unlocked and locked
  9. That's what I'm hoping, but no tricks seem to work. That is, unless I tried to program the only key I have in VCDS wrong...?
  10. Thanks, I have had the key checked and its pumping out a radio frequency but I guess it could be a corrupt one? I'll get one and see what happens I guess... I'll report back anything I find here
  11. @Breezy_PeteI can confirm pin 8 is working as the central convenience unit is acknowledging the central locking opening. i took the lock barrel out and opened it with a screwdriver with the key still in ignition and the CL opens just fine all doors. Looks like maybe the reciever is busted or something...? Maybe im missing something on VCDS that i could use to assist... who knows unfortunately
  12. Have you progressed with this at all? Mine went out and only works between 9 and 6... haven't had a look over yet other than scanning and finding no codes. ATM I'm leaving it faulty as it's my only security 'device' 😂
  13. I'll have to check that because it could be a good point! I always thought the CL would only unlock all doors if used with the remote? I've never owned a Skoda before though, only VW, Seat and Audi 😅
  14. I tried it last night, that's how I've been opening amd closing the windows. Might be worth a try none the less?
  15. No only drivers, but the windows work opening and closing when the key is turned and held, strange for both sets of switches to have failed at the exact same moment but the windows still work? 16. So I've done some looking, it's the same key as a mk4 golf but has a 3 button remote? I did attempt to use VCDS to program the key but it didn't work and I got a failed to program code Fortunately I have VCDS full edition so I can do most things from home. This one just has me stumped. Yes the alarm stops when the key goes into ignition and the car starts fine
  17. Hi!

Xhuy10nx posted a topic in Hellos and Goodbyes
New to Skoda, not new to VAG! Must be at least 6 now, but quite probably more
  18. I've got a strange issue with the fabia, I was living with it for a while until things changed last night. I only have one key and unfortunately the remote hasn't ever worked. I've tried various techniques to get the fob to pair and it never works. I have tested the fob and it emits RF when the buttons are pressed so I know it works too! For A while now I have just been unlocking and locking the car manually using the drivers door barrel, but yesterday when I unlocked it, the alarm went off and now my windows have been locked out too. I am having to leave the car unlocked as to not upset the neighbours every time I go for a drive, but ideally I'd like to get the fault fixed ASAP. I've hunted the Web and spoke to various people and nothing works, I was wondering if anyone else had experience with this and could help me please?
