  1. Ah ... that's cheered me up a bit .... thank you! Now to wait till Monday ...... :-)
  2. Thank you .... but what to do?? Would I have to take it to a Skoda dealer (nearest is 30 miles away!) or could my usual garage sort it??
  3. I recently had my car serviced, but suffered a terrifying blowout of the driver's side front tyre last week (tyre only 3 weeks old and no obvious signs of puncture.) I had breakdown insurance and a new tyre was fitted at the roadside. Thank God I and my 2 dogs finally got home (and stopped shaking)! The "pressure loss" was still showing orange on that wheel, plus both nearside tyres, which were in fact correct! I checked the pressures in all my tyres this afternoon (when they were cold) to make sure they were now all correct but the infotainment system insists on telling me the ability to reset the pressure warning etc on there (ie remove the error message) "is not available"! Please can someone advise?? And no my car isn't (and hasn't been) parked in full sun etc either! For some reason the traction control and ABS warning lights are also showing organge ....
  4. Hi ..the part no is 5Q0 035 842 C does that help? Just a query though ..... if the unit doesn't have Bluetooth, then how come the info screen says "unable to switch it on"?
  5. OK many thanks will do..... although I was assured it was exactly the same model etc as the one that failed .... I'll report back!
  6. Hi all I do hope someone knows of a solution to this problem! I recently had my infotainment control unit (Bolero) replaced by the main dealer, having finally sourced a 2nd hand unit. While at the dealers, they said they updated the software on the replacement item and although everything else seems to be working, it comes up on the screen as "cannot switch on Bluetooth" .... therefore I cannot pair my phone! On the dashboard screen, it says "telephone not available." I've tried running the config wizard/setup etc and sometimes I get the "look for Skoda 1234 (can't remember the exact number!)..." on the pairing list on my phone but it doesn't appear, so presumably that's because the car's Bluetooth isntt working so can't actually send it....? (I have had no trouble pairing my (Galaxy Android) with other cars etc). Please can someone help?
  7. OK many thanks I will certainly bear this in mind ... very much appreciated!
  8. PS...... I think the original poster had the basic display on his screen (and nothing else) ..... whereas mine is totally blank; it literally worked perfectly one day and not at all the next!!
  9. Thank you so much for this .... so do you think it's a whole new unit job then? Thank you so much for this info ...... much appreciated! I've had a look at the post you mention ...... so are you saying it really could be a chuck the unit away and start again issue? Or is it possible to obtain 2nd hand one or even just the component parts you mention?
  10. Hi ... I sent it to you yesterday on a direct message..... or at least I thought I did!

  12. Thank you so much for replying! That's what I thought (the part that lives in the glove box) but I honestly don't know .... which is why I'm trying to get the "proper" name of it! I do know appaarerntly I don't need a new screen .... power is getting to the control module but no further! They've quote me just under £1000 but no way do I have that sort of money to spend! (Hence trying to locate a salvaged one!) But is this the same as the "body control unit"? If not, then what is its proper name and is there any way I can get the part number without having to pay to get the unity taken out?
  13. PS I desperately need to know at least what the correct name of this control module is, and if there is any way to find a part number through the vehicle details please (eg VIN, chassis number etc) ... PLEASE HELP damsel in distress!!
  14. Hello all ... I realise this was a while ago but I have the exact same problem with my Skoda Fabia 2018 1l petrol auto estate ..... totally blank screen and fault diagnosed yesterday by main dealer who said it's defo the control unit itself .... to quote: "internal fault with infotainment control module 5F." Like the OP back in 20219, I have been quoted a ridiculous amount (which I simply don't have!) to supply, fit and code a new one, hence needing to try and find one 2nd hand ...... Any help, advice or suggestions would be very, VERY welcome! I'm in south Lincolnshire by the way ..... TIA!
  15. Hello I have a similar problem with my Skoda Fabia 2018.... except my infotainment screen is completely blank. Both I and my local garage have checked fuses etc and reset, but all to no avail. Apparently the power is just not getting through and my garage guy thinks the fault may be with the radio? I have contacted the main dealer twice and they have been worse than useless..... any ideas please?? And is the statement above about 6-yr warranty on electricals true? No-one seems to know!!
