Maybe the most simple way is to calculate cost per mile rather than mpg. This would mean retaining all the accumulated charging costs for all your usage during one full tank of petrol, and add it on to the refuelling cost. If you don’t include charging costs, it’s like starting the day with a free gallon of fuel that you don’t need to factor into your mpg costs. At least at the end of that period, you’d have an accurate cost per mile that you could then easily compare to typical diesel or petrol variants of the same vehicle. the problem will soon be that pure electric miles will cost more than pute petrol ones once the new energy price cap comes in, in October.

Did you notice any fittings in the rear door cards for ambient lighting? When the octavia was first revealed, it had ambient lighting in the front and rear doors. They must have quietly dropped it from the spec. I wonder if it will ever be possible to retro fit it? i think the golf has it in the rear doors.

that’s an interesting looking app. What is it? Are you able to control the iv’s pre heating etc from it? Did your car come with a third key that you can use to preheat the car? I’ve seen some skoda superbs with that feature.

Are you sure that is an IV model? I don’t see the charging flap on it?…

Fair to say I’ve been watching this topic a lot over the last 14 months. I’ve had a company car order in since May 2021 for a vrs iv estate. It’s optioned with pano roof, canton and dcc. There’s been a few setbacks along the way, which I’m sure would be familiar to many of you, but the vague updates from the lease company changed a week or two ago to “released from the factory” and added “delay in transit to uk”. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but current estimate is for mid Aug. I expect it will probably be September now, as they commonly like to delay it when there is an imminent number plate change, as i imagine it increases the cars value a little at resale. i just hope it was built late enough to have the newer infotainment modules etc….
