  1. For the people who visit this thread, there is also metal bracket that is sold on aliexpress for approximately 10 eur that will hold this camera/trunk opener in place. You should buy it for easier installation, othervise you will need to glue nee handle or make your DIY bracket for install.
  2. Hello everyone, I have a problem with VCDS coding and, I cannot find a solution, hoping that some more experienced users can help me. Background of problem: I and my SO both own Octavia mk3. I have 2016 pre facelift model mk3, she has 2013 model of same car. I bought mine 8 months ago, for her we bought Octavia a week ago. With VCDS I have very successfully disabled Start/Stop by changing voltage parameters as shown in this post: Disable Stop/start - VCDS tweak (vwwatercooled.com.au) This method works perfectly for me without any problem. But although I did same for 2013 Octavia it does not work. Car still has start stop function active. Do you know why is that and if you know a method that will definetely work? Second problem: I have added Alarm function to my car shortly after getting my car. What that function does is basically when someone breaks window and tries to open door from inside while car is locked, alarm turns on and car starts honking continuously. So when I have added this function to my car I realised that alarm does not work every time. Sometimes when I open door it honks sometimes it does not react at all. At first we did have only my car and I just thought that this alarm function should be like that and didn't think about it much. But now I did same exact coding to Octavia 2013 which we bought very recently and in that "new" car this alarm function works perfectly every time as soon as I try to open door from inside when car is locked car starts to honk like there is no tomorrow. I am not able to understand what is the problem here also. The source that I used for coding can be seen in this video. It is in Turkish but video is short and explains everything very clearly so I think sharing this video is more explanatory. Video can be seen by clicking to this link . I have checked the coding and they are same in both cars and I have recorded screen in all VCDS coding sessions and I have checked those videos and I am sure that I haven't changed something else by mistake that could cause functions not work properly. I think those differences are because of cars years and maybe cars brain works differnetly thus not all codings work in cars in same way. Alternatively for example if you have a method that worked for your car and is different than what I did you can share them as well. I can try them. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello, I follow this topic for a some time and when you made comment I got a notification. I want to say something, but firstly know that I am by no means an expert. I just searched this approximately 5-6 month ago. I cannot point out where, but I read that 5-speed manual gearboxes have single mass flywheel and 6-speed manuals has dual mass flywheel. So this can help you maybe but I recommend searching it more.
  4. Hello guys, has anyone retrofitted pushbutton for ignition to their car which originally had a key? TBH I just wonder if it is possible. This idea popped in my mind after by accident seeing Skoda Rapid review and in the video guy shows that keyfob has an actual key in it but car starts with button. Here is the video, you can check it from 9:10. He shows that Keyfob has a key but there is also a button. If someone has ever done it can you please let me know how hard is it? Or some youtube videos or blog posts related to this topic would be good too. thanks in advance
  5. Hello, I would like to ask your experience with changing flywheel+clutch in your 1,6 TDI (E6) Octavia 3. I have exactly same car and I have been also searching answer to this question? Did you change it? Does car has single mass or dual mass flywheel? Could you please let me know how much this change cost you and if you are happy with your new clutch?
  6. Thanks for the answer tomorrow I will check the car definitely, but I am not sure about starting a Youtube career yet
  7. Now I have checked ~7 -8 videos of failed DMF and I am certain that it is not my problem. In idle or when car it in gear when I move I do not hear any sound from gearbox.
  8. Okay I will check it. I saw a post while searching this issue on the internet. Post is similar to mine and posted in VW group. There the user mentioned that technician found out that reason of the problem is air box and when tightening the air box and holding it tightly vibration stops. Can this be an issue related with air leak?
  9. Yes it is 5 speed manual, I am not sure about the cause. Yesterday after writing this post I was checking similar topics "TDI engine low RPM vibration" and I saw that there are many posts about this issue in different forums. I really cannot be sure if this is a real problem or not. My car was checked from 2 big service. One in July another in September in very well known/ respected Skoda service. Some components changed in the engine but this issue with clutch was never brought up to me. I changed shock absorbers+disk and brake pads in last one, in first one fluids+filters+all of the belts changed+aircon service was done. Can this be an "issue" that services ignore and take as default problem? Nevertheless I will definetely check flywheel and engine mounts. Not right now but in upcoming weeks. After the check I will write an update here.
  10. Hello, I have faced with a weird situation in my mk3 1.6 TDI Octavia, it is 81kw version . When I am driving I noticed that between 1200-1500 RPM range engine vibrates and inside of the car I feel/hear annoying sound. They vibration/sound I talk is very similar to the one that you normally get before staling the car. Not like right before car stalls with a very noticable shaky vibration more like a continious and annoying vibration, less shaky. After passing this range car works without any problem at all very smoothly. Normal idle of the car is totally fine, I have absolutely no shake/vibration when car does not move. Even if I push gas and increase RPM I feel nothing in neutral. This happens only car it in gear. I have this thread from 2013 about mk2 Octavia, here @boneman mentioned that it is airfilter assambley. Has anyone else had similar situation? Should I take car to service? If it is something simple I might try to fix it if not then I will be taking it to the service. Any idea from your side is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
  11. @SashaGrace hello, could you please comment here if you have any opinion. From the posts in the form I have seen that you have much more information than an average user. if you can help somehow, I would be very appreciated.
  12. Hello, I have recently purchased Octavia 2016 with a Swing headunit. The headunit does not have additional CD/SD card reader part in glove compartment. That part is just empty. When I check from the settings I see that part number is: 5E0035871A. Could someone please help me to understand what are the options to get CarPlay for this system in cheapest possible way? I want to keep OEM look of the car and thats why I do not go with 3rd party android headunits. And otherthan carplay everything satisfy me with current setup. Thank you in advance!
  13. Thank you for the comment. Could you please specifically tell me which option you went and which you would go right now (as purchasable options in aliexpress menu such as A, B,C) Could you please tell me when you did the installation and how is the overall quality of trunk opener and camera? Does new trunk opener feels flimsy and bad quality? I would not want to buy something that will break after a year of use. Thanks in advance
  14. Hello, I am a new Skoda Octavia Estate owner. Model year of my car is 2016 and it has parking sensors at the rear. But I want to add rear view camera to my car. Once I searched this topic I saw many others who did it successfully and shared tutorials on youtube. Most of them state that they bought the camera from Aliexpress. So I went directly to Aliexpress searched the “skoda octavia rear view camera”. Since the seller I found had many options I asked from him which ones he recommends to 2016 Octavia he replied that he does not recommend for the cars under 2017 as “most of them fail”. So this answer confused me quiet a much. The users who successfully retrofitted rear view camera to their pre 2016 ( as well as 2016) Octavia’s could you please help me with thi topic? Is the seller that I talked right, shouldnt I buy rear view canera for my car? or if you installed camera to your vehicle, where did you buy it, did you face with any issues? I also want to add that I have Swing headunit. Is it problem to use rear view camera? Aliexpress link of the product is this:€ 52,63 15% Off | SINOSMART CanBus Reversing Dynamic Trajectory Parking Camera for Skoda Octavia Volkswagen Tiguan 187B 280 MQB PQ Audi A5 Q5 Q2 https://a.aliexpress.com/_EGAr55J If you give me some information related to those questions I would be very happy.
