Coolant real temperature
Done thermostat housing and water pump less than 3 months ago, so brand new G12Evo coolant (also replaced the expansion tank with one without silikat 😎)

Coolant real temperature
THIS! 😁 Summer has indeed arrived and we now have 25+ in Melbourne daily, so hot weather is definitely one factor. I was indeed driving in the city, lots of traffic lights and never over 50 Km/h (and even for only a few moments). It did drop around 90ish after about 20 minutes - I couldn't hear the fan but I guess it was it? Oil temperature also dropped from 107 C to 97/98, I'm not sure if this has to do with the thermostat doing anything.

Coolant real temperature
I bought myself one of those OBD2 bluetooth dongles sending data to the mobile-infotainment system. The coolant temperature reaches 105/106 C, which seems a little too high? The dash gauge stays on 90 (I know it doesn't move from there) - still I wonder if I should check something? Coolant level is MAX and thermostat housing/water pump have been done less than 3 months ago.

VAG OEM alloys options
That's awesome info, thank you! Doing some research I found out that Scout3 facelift do actually come out with 7.5 ET45. (Scout FL was NOT imported in Australia, hence I didn't find much before really looking into it) Below is the comparison btw the Nivalis 7 and 7.5: 7, ET45 (same I have) Not my car - but it looks the same 7.5 ET45, on FL models 2017 onwards I didn't realised FL models don't have the door trims - much more balanced IMO, this gives me ideas for the future! There are also 18x7.5 ET43 for Scout3 FL (Braga alloys), and Golf7 Alltracks (same chassis and suspension of Octavia Scout) come with 18"x7.5, ET45. I'd say this all corroborates 7.5 channels with ET40 to 45 does fit no problem

No, I have 45 now. I think keeping 45 on a 7.5 shouldn't be an issue: Anything 40 to 45 would also fit easily I think, and make it appear slightly larger:

VAG OEM alloys options
So no problem with either of the inner designs (trapezoids vs circles?) are they fully interchangeable? Yep, with 7.5 channel I'll have: ET 45: around .75cm extra each side of the rim (current nivalis are ET45 but 7inches wide) ET 40 to 45: most of the extra rim surface on the external side. I'd prefer this actually, I think the wheel arches would look a little fuller - especially the back ones.

VAG OEM alloys options
I'm looking to change the original Nivalis alloys on my Scout with something else; I was never a big fan of the 5 spokes/star-ish design, I prefer 7+ spokes designs in general. I'm happy to keep 17s as I prefer a softer ride and don't mind some light off detours on outback tracks every now and then, but will increase the channel to 7.5. I realised most of the OEM VAG wheels are pretty much interchangeable as stud diameter (112) and bore (57.1) are the same - so anything with ET40 to 50 should fit with no issues. My concern is the inside part of the rims - I found there are 2 different design/patterns around the bore and studs. My current Nivalis have some sort of trapezoidal spacing as per the picture: Some of the Audi and VW rims I like have instead circles: Can either be fitted without modifying anything? More in general, is there anything else I should consider other than stud/bore/channel?

Oil temperature fluctuating
It's not a worry nor a concern. I observed this behavior ever since, and was just curious to understand why/what makes this happening. After all aren't we all on the forum to share knowledge and learn more about our beloved cars?

Oil temperature fluctuating
Definitely Gen3 engine - code CJSB

Oil temperature fluctuating
I found this on a Audi forum - I wonder if that's what makes the oil temperature changing. It makes sense to me.

Columbus Map Update 2024 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
I finally had a drive long enough the other day to allow the installation. Confirming the VW portal file works, flawless installation and full maps functionality afterwards - I downloaded the second file.

Oil temperature fluctuating
Oil is new, last service was November 23. Cooler group is clean. Car is 7 years and 87,000 Kms, and has full history service at the dealer. It has always done this, so this is not a major concern nor it is causing any issue as the car drives well and shows no problems. I'm just curious on why / what makes this temperature cycle - up to 107C (which is an ok temperature anyway for EA888s according to what I could find in the forum) for half and hour-ish, then drop by 10C, then stabilising up again around 102.

Oil temperature fluctuating
Hi All, I seem to experience an odd oil temperature fluctuation on my Scout 1.8TSI. Oil reaches 106/107 in about 15/25 minutes (depending on season/weather). This temperature is maintained for another 10/15 minutes, then drops to 96 and stabilise again around 98/102. I've noticed this pattern regardless of the driving condition (city vs highway) or external conditions (it happens both in winter around 10C or in summer at 35+C). I can't understand what causes the temperature changes. Is there a thermostat that changes anything in the oil circuit? Or is it just how the oil behaves (it's Castrol Edge 5w-40 from the dealer's services).

Columbus Map Update 2024 (MIB1/2 HIGH)
Did anyone have any issue with the ROW? Upon inserting the card the update is recognised (message appears in the top section of the screen saying 'update available) but not started automatically. As I start the update I have an error after 3/4 minutes as it reaches 2%. The detail says 'to try re-insert the SD card as the medium is not supported' - then device re-starts. Tried to download the file twice and used 3 different SD cards, but still no joy.

Update Maxidot graphic
Is it possible to update the Maxidot graphic from pre-facelift to facelift skins? I have a Scout MY16 and recently update the infotainment firmware to the latest one (1433) so now I have the facelift graphic on the stereo: However I'm still stuck on the old graphic on the Maxidot: Is there a way to update it to the facelift skin which has a lighter and more modern graphic (green horizontal lines as separator - no background vertical grey lines - greyish/blueish backgrounds) like the examples below? Thank you
