  1. You make a good point in the last paragraph. Ford have the right idea, service schedule on all cars 12500 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.
  2. Thanks for the info. Even though this is for a Fabia I guess you are right that Caster angle is non adjustable. Will either have to live with it for the next 2.5 year lease or get it looked at. Skoda would charge an arm and a leg if they find a bent component or worse. Strange as it drove ok with toe slightly out and steering wheel slightly off! Caster doesn't affect tyre wear.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Is the castor angle adjustable on these cars though?
  4. Does anyone know if Castor angles are adjustable on the Kamiq? I knocked a curb doing around 20mph while trying to avoid a massive pot hole at around 1500 miles. Last week decided to have the alignment checked (c3500 miles) as since the knock the steering wheel was slightly off centre and noticed outer edge of NS front tyre starting to wear more on outer edge. They adjusted front toe which has corrected the steering wheel but no change to the castor, still red on attached print out. I should of asked about it but didn't. Seems unlikely there is any damage (but cannot rule it out) if both sides are out of spec. Now the steering actually feels worse than ever. Before I knocked the curb I was surprised how tight and accurate the Kamiq steering felt. Now it feels loose and baggy if that makes sense due, I understand, maybe to too much negative castor. Tyre pressures all correct at 36 all round. 2023-06-17_091112-1.pdf

Thanks Graham. I know what you meant. I know how to switch it off when it IS actually working (2 presses on the steering wheel buttons) but sometimes it doesn't work at all and you get a warning message. Totally random.
  6. Tbh having none is worse lol especially when you see other Kamiq and Scala with it.

Mine must have a fault as warning light does not go out even after a certain speed. Might need re calibration or something.
  8. Hi JXS, went out to try it and bang on. Thanks very much (will teach me to read the manual 😀).

No, as on switch on you either get a warning light, or the green lane assist symbol. Has done this from new.

My lane assist works intermittently. Sometimes when I switch on it comes up with a warning "Lane Assist Unavailable" other times it is already switch off. Incidentally the lane assist when it does work is rubbish even picking up road sealant thinking its white lines.

Yet they think they are 'simply clever' giving you an umbrella and a ice scraper worth about £5!
  12. Hi Graham, the SE model doesn't have any mode options (I know what you mean, used to have a Leon with eco, normal and sport).
  13. Wasn't having a go mate.
  14. Have never had this issue before on any other car. It just seems to come on by itself when you switch on the ignition. A fault can develop at any time.
  15. My 1.0 TSI SE 110 also delivered in December 2022 has static front and rear indicators.
  16. I have a 72 plate 1.0 TSI 110 with standard manual air con. I have noticed when I switch on the ignition lately that 9 times out of 10 the Air Recirculation is on (with the air con on) when it was off when car last switched off. Anyone else noticed this? Not a great big deal and not really worth a special trip to the dealer until due for a service, just mildly annoying.
  17. With leases from VWFS you can arrange an informal extension of up to 6 months (after the contracted period has ended) whereby you can send the car back at any point during the extension without penalty.
  18. Hi Steve, I have had a Kamiq SE for 3 months now and find the Android Auto Google maps better than a sat nav tbh. My last 3 cars have had Nav and I don't miss it at all. It will even recognise somewhere you have searched say during that day on Google so all you have to do is click on it or you can press a button and just say 'Google, take me to Sainsburys in where ever" plus it will always be 100% up to date. Only thing annoying missing on SE is auto wipers that we're standard but not since so called microchip crisis.
  19. Think some people need to get a life. If logos on your screen is all you have to worry about then your pretty lucky!

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if the Lane Assist / Driver Assist system needs re-callibrating (ADAS) following wheel alignment adjustments? I stupidly recently hit a curb in my 2022 Kamiq SE 110 at about 20mph while trying to avoid a large Pothole and am considering taking it in somewhere to have it checked (although am reluctant to do so as in my experience most places muck it up, leaving a steering wheel off centre etc).
