  1. Yep, but you are placing an order at present price in January, not in February. They really are taking the p..s. Sorry, just read your post again. I assume they have now removed that £350 as you are placing your order in January before it kicks in.
  2. pjm007, sorry for coming across as patronising regarding your car order. I am sure you are on the ball, just like I try to be!
  3. The dealer is taking the p..s. Looks like an "Admin Fee" that some of the chancer dealers add. Peter Vardy are infamous for it. Hope you got a discount on the new car price, as you really should not be paying list price for a new car, unless you got a very generous offer on a trade in vehicle. Have a good look at the invoice.
  4. I feel for you. Dealer is totally taking the ****, and has absolutely no interest in resolving your problem! Useless ****s, you would probably be better taking it to an independent auto electrician. But that is easier said than done if you do not know one. Sorry for my rant, just dealers really do care not one bit.
  5. Thanks for your input, but I am out of here for a wee while as there are a few really strange people responding to my posts. I usually find new forum posters are accepted, but seems a few on here just like to belittle them, well maybe just me. Not sure why. Anyway, I am out.
  6. Thanks. Looks like this forum maybe not for me. Some of responses so far are quite cryptic, no just weird!!
  7. Wow, this forum is a bit mental. I am not stupid, positive connection to battery, negative to body earth point! Yep, of course.
  8. Still confused. Have I said something that has annoyed you? I made no cracks about hybrid, never had any idea that they may be until some posts!
  9. I am new to this forum. Please explain. Have I encountered someone to be avoided? Or is it me? Been on loads of forums, and it takes a wee while to suss it it out.
  10. Hopefully you were not attempting a take at the ****. Not appreciated if you were. A trickle charger will take 2 or 3 days repeat days to charge a battery. What are these repeat days that you talk about? Maybe some punctuation would help. Anyway, maybe me, but not sure what you are talking about.
  11. Pretty sure there is nothing hybrid about this Fabia. If there is, then Skoda kept it a secret in their adverising bumf! Haha.
  12. Not sure you fully read my post. I am using a smart charger, I clarified that. Anyway, my point was that my previous car’s battery got to a full state of charge in minutes, on the charger, after a drive, but the Fabia takes several hours. Possibly a good reason for it, I was just noting my observation.
  13. Just noticed your post/reply. Not sure what you mean. A trickle charger will take 2 or 3 days repeat days to charge a battery. By 'trickle', I am showing my age, I believe they are now called 'smart' chargers. Anyway, I am using a 'Smart' charger, and on the Fabia it takes forever to get my battery up to full charge, After today's journey of almost 100 miles from Lanark to Ayrshire and round about a bit, and back home, it has been on my smart charger for over three hours, and still not fully charged. Would have been fully charged on my previous Mokka within a few minutes. Just clarifying.
  14. Probably not making myself clear. Have been using 4 amp trickle chargers for a number of years. I hard wire it to the battery making it easier to connect/disconnect. My Mokka diesel AGM battery lasted me nine years using it. On return from a journey it would take less than 20 minutes to get back to full capacity, many times only a couple of minutes. This Skoda using same procedure takes over four hours to get back to full capacity. My Mokka did not have a 'smart' alternator, this car does, so I believe that is the problem. Anyway, no big deal as long as the car starts when I need to use it. If it starts to annoy me I will make an issue of it.
  15. Nope, nothing plugged in. Never do in any car.
  16. Battery? Seems very poor on my new car. Charge level is very low so S/S does not work until after a very, very long run. Popped it on a trickle charger, and takes over four hours to fully charge. I do quite a low mileage on my cars, so always pop them on a trickle charger after a few months of ownership. This battery has to be the poorest yet. Previous few cars had AGM batteries, and held charge for ages. Anyway, just my thoughts.
  17. Just had a look in the owners manual and it states this function is only available in cars with headlights with adaptive functions. Just checked in my two month old Monte Carlo and the setting is not there. Checked the online configurator and it does not appear to be an option!
  18. After some research on internet, it seems the EU imposed a maximum volume level for car audio systems! Other Skoda forums have similar questions to the one I have posted commenting on poor maximum volume on car stereo units. So looks like it is what it is. No big deal.
  19. Yep, what I thought. But nothing is obvious in settings, checked everything. I am pretty savvy with car technology, maybe the Fabia has a different system than the Karoq. Thanks for replying.
  20. Hence my question.
  21. Bought these for mine. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254908894463 Fit very well, and look very much OE.
  22. Finding the sound volume on maximum quite underwhelming. No matter the source be it radio or media. The audio quality is fine, but find myself almost constantly at full volume to enjoy any music,a nd feel there should be much more to go higher. I am no music geek who drives around with windows down and radio at full blast, as would be impossible anyway in my car. Have had dozens and dozens of new cars over the years, and this one seems to be the only one that I have been concerned about reagrding the volume. My wife has a VW UP! Beats edition, and volume anything over 50% is just not good for the ears. Just wondering if there is some hidden setting to increase the volume. Or are they maybe all like this.
  23. Look for items with USB C connections, as USB C port only in Fabia. Many come with USB A to USB C adapters, but aesthetically better with USB C and short cable.
  24. Just leave it plugged in, no drain on battery as it is not drawing any power when not connecting phone to head unit. If you have an Amazon account, I would recommend you buy one there from a seller with lots of positive comments. Easy returns if you have any issues, but in my experience, these adapters just work. If you buy one keep us updated on how it goes. Mine all came with double sided tape. I have mine discreeted on upper part of centre console, can only be seen when bent down and looking for it. I have not been in my car for well over a week, as since retiring I do not use any car very often. Car starts no problem, and by time I have reversed down driveway the adapter is fully connected and Carplay is on the car screen.
  25. I have bought a few for family cars. All work no problem in the Skoda and in cars with aftermarket head units. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BX68HFYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155615682476 Just realised that you are looking for an Android Auto adapter. Check out the reviews for these items for sale on Amazon, some are for sale from sellers also doing Carplay adapters. They look identical to mine, but I assume there must be different internals for Android and Apple. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=android+auto+wireless+adapter+uk&i=electronics&crid=EXMPIHOP9S9O&sprefix=Android+auto%2Celectronics%2C84&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_12
