This one should be specific for the 1.0 TSI: 04C145769. Please double check but I believe it is the one I ordered and fitted. Bear in mind that it might reduce the ticking noise to some degree, but when cold it still rattles a bit.

Almost certain it is the infamous wastegate rattle, it sounds exactly like how my start ups sounded before I mounted a clip on the actuator rod to limit the play (and thus minimizing the rattle). What you can do is (when cold) grab a hold of the actuator rod directly after starting the engine, you should hear a difference as in the rattle will disappear and appear when holding/releasing the rod.

Probably not the exact answer you are looking for, but I swapped the 6,5" display (that you have) to the 8" variant from the 'Columbus' unit, which is plug & play. I also changed the skin to the 8" variant in the 'Engineering menu' because otherwise you just have a 6,5" layout stretched over a 8" display (e.g. you will still have 5x radio icons displayed next to each other, albeit a bit bigger of course, instead of the 6 icons for the 8" displays).

you are comparing Japanese engineering vs 'German' engineering, it is not a secret that the Japanese have sorted this out better regardless of what people will say, especially on this forum :-). I owned a Mazda 3 in the past and it was perfect (I went for an Octavia because I needed the space). Yes, my Octavia also has issues but I wasn't surprised since I owned several VW group cars before.

What about hot air blowing out of the outside vents (so driver and passenger side) but the 2 inner vents are still blowing relatively cold air? According to garage x this is normal behavior, and they did an AC flap test/reset (did it myself as well with OBD11). No fault codes. Can anyone confirm that this is normal behavior for the AC on AUTO? Thank you!

I don’t know the path as OBDEleven made it easy for me, it really was just a few clicks and I have no idea what coding happened in the background. Maybe you can find it somewhere on the OBDEleven forums?

Yes it is possible, I changed the maxidot skin on my MY2017 pre-FL to the FL skin you mention. I used OBDeleven for this, it was a standard ‘app’ that required me to change the selection from standard to ‘with stripes’ and that was it.

So I finally got the update to work, now I lost Smartlink/Apple CarPlay. Any advise?
