  1. I removed the front bumper to investigate my headlight issue and was presented with this mess. Not a lot of cooling going on there ......
  2. Thanks Mike, I have already sourced some replacements 👍🏻
  3. I'd love these but it's a 5.5hour journey each way 😭 Do you have any reliable shipping options?
  4. That basically brings progress up to date. I've started to delve into a front end headlight / front panel alignment issue. I'll write that up once I've had a chance to look into it.
  5. I inserted a couple of washers between the bottom hinge and the door. These were just the right thickness to bring the door back into line.
  6. The passenger door was slightly out of alignment and was catching on the wing at the bottom of the door and had chipped off the door paint. You can see in this photo how the door gap is not even all the way down. I thought I'd adjust the door hinges on the A post. I removed the wing to make it easier to get the hinge bolts then realised one bolt was inside the A post. Having recently just refitted the interior I wasn't taking it apart again. A plan B was required.
  7. While the tailgate trim panel was off I cleaned up the years of accumulated grime.
  8. All of these tailgate repairs will be covered up the chevron decal shown here. But as these will be expensive to buy I wanted to make sure there was a solid base underneath (Photo credit Dan Derisive, Facebook)
  9. I was really pleased with how this came out. At one point I thought I might have to paint the whole tailgate, but managed to blend the paint nicely on the localised repairs.
  10. Next was the tailgate. This has the usual mess around the push button and around the handle. I think some of this must have been caused when the police chevron decals were fitted and they cut around the handle, damaging the paint.
  11. Then there was 2 little scabs on the front of the bonnet, either side of the grill
  12. The front roof corners. I still need to blend the paint line here, but I may need to paint the whole roof at some point, so this repair was just to keep the rust at bay. I had to do both sides, but you get the idea
  13. Even though this car never originally had front mud flaps (only rears) I fitted a set I had lying about. Now that section of the lower wing this totally covered, and hopefully better protected.
  14. I spent a bit of time tidying up the body work. Luckily all of the rust looked worse then it was. It was only all surface. First up was the bottom of the front wings. Before
  15. Still more updates to come, next up is tackling the rust on the bodywork.......
