  1. Car went in for an intermittent CEL (which went off the day before the visit), I mentioned the volume and showed the video, they said they’ll look into it, came back to collect car to be told there’s nothing wrong, nothing stored and charged £110 for a diagnostic fee. Fuming
  2. While washing my car I noticed a weird paint finish to the rear offside wheel arch, and wanted to make a note of it during today's unrelated trip to the dealer in case I need to make a bodywork warranty claim. The technician has claimed that the car has had bodywork in the past and hence I cannot make a warranty claim. This came as a massive surprise to me as I purchased the car "used approved" when it was only 6 months old. Allegedly, its previous owner was an employee in the Skoda HQ. I've reached out to Johnsons Skoda where I purchased it but I am yet to hear back from them. Am I screwed? Any hints or advice is greatly appreciated.
  3. Apologies if this is a duplicate, couldn't find anything similar in my search. I've got an intermittent check engine light which was checked out by RRG Skoda today, in true maintenance fashion, the light was off when I dropped off the car. RRG claimed there were no faults stored on the computer and I was subsequently charged £110 for a diagnostic fee. I've also got other electrical issues with the car, one of which is the volume on the radio turning itself down, I have a video of this, despite having proof I have still been charged. My question is, where would Skoda stand on OBDeleven, an officially licensed VAG code scanner, can I use it as proof? Does it interfere with my warranty? I was once warned/threatened by a dealer that this could void my warranty by simply plugging in to read codes. Despite this, I connected and found 2 engine codes as well as other faulted modules, I cannot see any record of them connecting or clearing codes in the history tab. The only note on the invoice is they ran "GFF" - guided fault finding. Any hints or advice is greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi pikciu Did you try pulling the SOS module fuse out for 10 minutes? If you have, It seems like taking to Skoda was the only thing that fixed it for me, get them to update it and see if the sos module is faulty. see my previous post
  5. I think it's being replaced by MySkoda. I used both apps but they both seem to do the same thing
  6. Mine has just started doing this today, but it decreases the volume (luckily I suppose). Car is scheduled to go in for other issues on 18th June. Please keep me posted
  7. Hi is there an onboard menu that can tell me what the fault is with the car? My previous Audi gave some basic information but on the Skoda I get nothing but the warm amber glow of the CEL. I can plug in with my OBDeleven, but that isn’t always convenient. thanks
  8. I had a 21-plate VRS and had this issue. Unfortunately, that car was written off but I've now got a 23-plate... issue no longer present
  9. I notice you have also replaced the RS badge with a black one. How hard was it?
  10. MrOlympic changed their profile photo
  11. You won't regret it, I had a '21 VRS that was written off in November and I bought another one to replace it
  12. I've just ordered one for my blue VRS Probably won't fit it until the weather is warmer though.
  13. So theyre always cryptic with exactly as to what they've done and I've also slept since then I believe you need the SOS module firmware update as well as the 1941 software update, if that doesn't take then they need to replace it, but that usually requires authorsiation from skoda.
  14. read the last one or two pages of this thread: Make sure that they also update the module firmware as the 1941 on it's own only made my POP POP worse... I think the dealers are aware of the issues and there is TPI in place
  15. So I must've had some money burning a hole in my pocket as I've had an altercation with an aircon unit mounted too low over a hotel parking bay 😠 Only quote so far is £325 for the boot and £200 for the spoiler respray... Which brings me to the tought of replacing the spoiler entirely as it is cheaper: I can, reluctantly, get a chinesium VRS spoiler from eBay for about £55 or I'm leaning towards buying the maxton design spoiler for £134. My questions are the following; has anyone removed/replaced the stock spoiler and is it difficult? And, are there any options other than the maxton design for an aftermarket spoiler that I should consider? EDIT: the car is a hatch/liftback
