  1. Thanks again. Found it at last.
  2. Thanks but those options are not on mine.
  3. Thanks but mine doesn't have the virtual cockpit.
  4. Thanks. I'll try that. I presumed that would be from when the car was new.
  5. Yup. Tried every combination I can find. Will just have to do it the old fashioned way with a paper and pencil. Anyone remember them?
  6. Thanks for trying to help. First .... I wouldn't know where to log in to Skoda. I access the user manual from a 'welcome to skoda' email I got when I purchased the car. I input the VIN number and the manual comes up. When I use the scroll wheel on the right of the steering wheel there is no mention of Trip Counter or Odometer, which is why I ask here. There is also nothing in the infotainment screen that is applicable. As said initially I can see how to reset the MPG but see no way of simply resetting the trip mileage. If I reset the MPG to 'from start' that reading is deleted after each trip. When I go on holiday, or a trip away, I like to set zero the mileage when I start and take the full reading when I get back. With the way this MPG is set up the readings are deleted after each leg of the trip. All I need is what has always been available on non-digital dashboards .... a wee button to reset. Not a lot to ask?
  7. Thanks but can't get to that without a login. Can you summarise?
  8. New 26 plate Fabia Hatch SE Edition 1.0 TSI 116 PS DSG Anyone know how to find and/or reset a trip counter with this all-digital interface? No wee button to press now! Can't find it anywhere and no mention at all in the user manual. Can set MPG per trip but that's not really the same. Thanks for any insight or help.
  9. Thank you Tangoss. I did indeed check my phone settings for bluetooth and found the Share Contacts button switched to off. Switched it on and contacts started to import. Got to say I've never been much of a phone user so didn't even know there were any settings for bluetooth. Thought it was just on or off. Many thanks for your shared wisdom.
  10. Had no problems with bluetooth connecting for Android Auto but have just checked the bluetooth settings and there is a 'contact sharing' button. Will check that out tomorrow and report back.
  11. Thanks. I'll try that but may not work as it would not let me import any contacts to begin with. I could see that method working if contacts were already imported.
  12. Getting along quite well with my new SE Edition 1.0 TSI 116 PS DSG after the first week. Finding my way around most things but have one wee niggle. Does anyone have knowledge of how to set up a phone (android) with this 8" display system? I can call up contacts and make calls using the phone section of Android Auto but the dedicated phone section from the menu just comes up as a load of blank 'favourites' boxes. It won't allow me to import contacts or add anything to these favourites or add any phone numbers. Been into Settings where there is a selection for Import Contacts but that does nothing at all. I can input a number and make a call but that's it. I realise the Android Auto method works but surely there should be a way to set up the phone section independently? Thanks for any help on this.
  13. Just collected my new replacement to the 3 year old. Now Fabia SE Edition 1.0 TSI 116 PS DSG in Black Magic Pearl. Short drive home and a wee bit mess about with control settings and we are ready to go. Feels pretty good. Many small changes to take in but am sure I'll get used to them shortly.
  14. Thanks for that useful information. So, not such a daft question really.
  15. As with most of my questions this may seem a little strange! Will be taking delivery of my new 26 Fabia DSG on Tuesday coming. This will be the first car I've had since those heady days of my 1963 Morris Minor that has a START button rather than the key turn method (back to the dark ages?) Now, technically speaking .... key fob in my pocket and press the button to start ... does this mean that the key fob is transmitting a signal to the 'system' which impersonates the ignition? (or something like that) If so then does this mean that the battery life in this type of fob will be less that in a normal fob? And .... as my wife usually carries the spare key in her handbag, in case of emergencies, might that mean the BOTH keys could have shorter battery life than the usual fobs?
  16. Thanks all. Very informative.
  17. Many thanks for your comprehensive reply. Now .... as I'm an old school type I have always kept a note of all things car related on a calendar so am always aware of what is due and when. I also dislike pop-up reminders on the car screen and don't partake of service plans, going for each service as and when it tells me to on my trusty old calendar. So, in this situation it would look like the option of leaving things as they are might be more suitable to me. No annoying reminder each year as, if it keeps on being reset to two years at each service, I should only be annoyed every other year. Am I right with this assumption? Does the service reminder do anything other than that?
  18. Thanks. So if I just ignore that does it mean I won't get the service reminder at 12 months?
  19. Hey there, Just ordered my new Fabia to replace my 3 year old and I notice that the Spec Sheet says 'Service Interval Prolongation'. Can anyone explain what this is and will I need it on an average annual mileage of 5000. Thanks.
  20. I have had a 23 Fabia DSG from new and absolutely LOVE the gearbox. Most things about this car I find to be excellent. I have a couple of minor niggles but they are my personal foibles around the infotainment system. I chose the auto because of the arthritis in my knees and have found it to be the best box I have driven. This is the 3 cylinder 999cc model and I generally get in the low 40's around town and up to 58 on a good run. Hope this helps.
  21. Sorry. Thought they would all be the same. Next to the gearshift above the door lock button.
  22. Nothing you can do, mate. Get in the car, start up, press that OK button and the Start/Stop button next to the handbrake and you're away. Every time. To make things worse, if you're driving and switch the radio off you have to hit that OK button again .... every time.
  23. Can't recall how many options there are but on mine, if you touch the clock and swipe sideways it changes to another style. There are maybe four choices.
  24. I've not had an issue with misting but I drive with AC on all the time, summer or winter. Stop/start I hate but it is a habit now to simply press the button, on starting the car, to deactivate it. Lane assist does not bother me that much and, sometimes feel, it has made me a bit better driver as the way to control it is make certain that you indicate before changing lanes. Not a bad thing, in that. In two years I haven't had any instances of it pulling me off course as some drivers have reported. As for satnav, I use google maps through Android Auto on my phone and have no issues. Always up to date without any subscriptions. Don't like not having a spare wheel so got one of those as soon as I got the car for peace of mind. I sometimes think the comfortable ride is down to my model having the 15" wheels. Anyway ... all just my opinion.
  25. I got the '23 SE Comfort DSG model from new and love it apart from one thing. If you search my profile you should see some reviews I made when new, at 6 months and at 1 year, I think. Anyway, in a snapshot .... I find it to be an impressive car. Size and comfort suit me really well. The drive is wonderful with plenty of speed and power when you need it. The DSG auto box is an absolute dream. Fuel economy, for a small engine automatic, is impressive (I go by the in car computer reading) and regularly gives in the 40's around town but comes into its own on a long journey. Last month I had a 3 day trip around some Scottish castles in the Aberdeen area covering 600 miles which returned an impressive reading of 58 MPG. The only thing I truly hate about this car is the infotainment set-up. This is my own personal opinion and, I know, is different to most. I'm an old-timer who loves having CD's to play and would trade most other things about this system to have a CD player installed. I don't stream music from a phone so put a lot of my CD collection on memory sticks to plug in but it always messes them up. Won't play anything without putting it in alphabetical order. Anyway. That is my only issue. Enjoy your car and let us know how you get on with it.
