  1. Cheers for the help guys, I decided on vrs specific one from Travall. Fits perfectly covers up screw holes and previous damage!
  2. Hi all, Today I finally had good enough weather to change my badges and de-badge where I wanted to. I had bought new a rear bumper protector, however upon removing the horrible silver one from the previous owner (who for some stupid reason unknown had drilled/screwed it into the bumper!!!) there is slight damage on the lip that the cover went over on the edge of the bumper, I'm guessing which is why they installed it in the first place. The one I have to replace in black does not cover the lip only sits in the middle of the bumper. So I was looking at this BUMPER PROTECTOR GUARD PLASTIC BLACK on ebay I have previously bought a front grille from them I plan to install hopefully tomorrow. However it says that it does not fit the VRS model? Is there any difference in the bumpers standard and vrs as to why this would not fit?
  3. I installed an aliexpress reverse camera boot switch. It functions as it should, everything works just the lights in the boot and maxidot not displaying it is open. What wire would need to be snipped for those functions to work again? 🤔
  4. Maybe I've knocked it when installing rear dash came and reverse camera possibly.... However I've never noticed till opening the tailgate at night which I don't often do. I'll take a look
  5. I've also tested having the tailgate open, whilst the car is running. Handbrake off... no tailgate open warning. Like when the car is locked with it open, all doors and seatbelt warnings work, just not tailgate. Seems it just doesn't know the tailgate is open when it is, and the lights don't work in the boot. Very odd....?
  6. I noticed the other day that my interior lights in the boot did not come on. They aren't blown, as I took the bulbs and put it in the glove box which does come on and they both work. Tested the plugs with a light/circuit tester and it lights up, so there is power to it, however testing it with the boot lock mechanism in locked position they're still powered. I'm not sure if this is normal or not I would assume it would close connection when it thinks it is locked and come on when open? I also noticed that when they tailgate is open it does not display that it is open on the instrument cluster like it does when the doors are open? Any ideas, I'm a little confused. Besides that, everything else works as it should. Also if the tailgate is not shut properly the alarm will chirp to let me know.... So I am baffled, it seems to work so I am unsure on what the problem is. any help would be appreciated.
  7. Would be possible, or has anyone managed to change the grill without total front bumper removal. Could you access the plastic welds without totally removing the bumper? I do have quite small hands tbh so I'm just curious.
  8. Huh.. good to know, I won't be buying those ebay ones then. Thanks
  9. My octavia comes out of 3 month warranty from the dealer I bought it from in November, so planning to do do a few minor mods, First is to change the badges over. Does anyone know if there is actually any difference in the two of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284781459701?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110025%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.COMPOSITELISTINGS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220405142716%26meid%3Dc3deae97da4e4ceeb2ae9f7dc38600bf%26pid%3D101506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D25%26sd%3D386129911014%26itm%3D284781459701%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D3458402%26algv%3DAlgoIndex5SimRanker%26brand%3DPP&_trksid=p3458402.c101506.m1851 https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/octavia-iii/octavia-iii-original-skoda-emblem-int-version Thanks
  10. Is there a build thread for how to fit a manual lock from a LHD car to the passenger door of a RHD car? Recently my battery has started to die, I've had to keep jump starting and trickle charging. I need to get the car looked at asap, I have contacted a local specialist to have it looked at, either battery is on it's way out or alternator, maybe something is somehow draining power? I've run into the issue of the car being totally dead, having to manually open the drivers door, only to be faced with deadlocked passenger door... meaning the bonnet latch cannot be correctly pulled to release the bonnet. I did manage to slip the catch over the speaker and release the bonnet but I ideally in future don't want to do this and damage it. So if there is a build showing how to retro fit manual lock on the passenger door that would be great! Cheers
  11. I was recommended to do a res delete on my 2015 mk3. However, I've seen so many people on here and across the web that you get a horrible resonance and droning around 2-2/4k rpm. Which I don't really want. I would like to change the exhaust to something a bit louder, as I feel the stock sound of the car doesn't really match the car itself. I was looking at the Vibrant performance 2.5″ x 18″ Stainless Steel as recommended by other posts I have seen. What have other people done? Have they changed the whole set up, maybe cat back or from the downpipe, off the self aftermarket or anyone had custom ones made. I'm interested to see what people have had done, and what they sound like, as well as the cost? Let me know
  12. I was curious if any existed. I had heard of an alpine unit that worked as an OE would. Ease of being able to fit amp and sub. I have looked into plug and play sound set ups also.
  13. Hi all, I have 2015 Octavia Estate VRS. Are there any aftermarket head units available for this car, that will still retain all of the features of the car. I.e still using the multifunctional steering wheel, the multifunctional display/driver info system. With the ability to still change drive modes, with it still coming up on the head unit when changing from eco, normal, sport etc. and all car settings and car info, service status and parking cam and sensors oh and dab radio, assuming it would also work along side the unit in the glove box? I believe it would fit using a T harness and plug onto OEM can bus if so? Thank you.
  14. Thank you, All successfully fitted today, all working. Along with front and rear facing dash cams. My dad was astonished that something from Ali-Express worked. He didn't think it would lol! Thanks again for the guide, very helpful.
  15. Hi, from my understanding of reading this as I plan to fit this to mine, This connects up to the multimedia unit in the glove box and not the back of the headunit display? Thanks
