  1. I know this is an old thread. I would love to do this on my vrs at some point, having power folding mirrors would be a luxury that is handy for parking in certain places. Currently the settings(excuse the dust, haven't had time to clean it) on my car under mirrors and wipers does not have the setting. I am assuming that once you have installed everything and coded the correct settings like explained the options for Fold away after parking will appear? Also is there a part numbers for the 592 and 593 modules, do I need both? If my car has 392 and 393, do you have both or either or I am confused on that part? Is it possible for someone to let me know part numbers for the switch and mirrors also?
  2. Do you happen to know a part number for the boot lock, so I can replace it to rule out the micro switch? Or is there a way to fix it at all? I'd like to sort it if I can so the lights work, and I can't find a part number anywhere. Cheers.
  3. I will take a look cheers, have been looking at similar things on amazon today as well. Also looking at the possibility of building my own flap down door for the storage compartment too.
  4. Hi all, I am just curious what people have done for storage space, specifically if you use the 10" built in sub housing unit on the left side of the boot. I've been looking into different options of storage, as I have a spare wheel in the wheel well, so do not have that option. Other than buying a storage box bag, to keep tools etc. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried or managed to fit the storage compartment flaps from the superb to the octy?
  5. Hi, I've just bought the match pp 62dsp and match pp 10w-q - 10" subwoofer. Does anyone have a match audio fischer set up on their car. If so is it all plug and play or did you connect anything to the battery. How does the car perform since the install if all totally plug and play, and any battery issues. I have a 2015 VRS which has start/stop. This is all new to me the pug and play but I've been assured it all connects and works up fine. I'm just a tad anxious about power and battery.... If I need to connect to the battery then I'm very anxious about disconnecting it due to hearing how many issues that can potentially cause once it's been disconnected and reconnected. My dad used to work in the car industry fitting audio and alarms, and he is insistent on the amp and sub having to be connected to the battery, but has never worked on newer cars or ones that have this kind of technology. Thanks
  6. Cheers for the help guys, I decided on vrs specific one from Travall. Fits perfectly covers up screw holes and previous damage!
  7. Hi all, Today I finally had good enough weather to change my badges and de-badge where I wanted to. I had bought new a rear bumper protector, however upon removing the horrible silver one from the previous owner (who for some stupid reason unknown had drilled/screwed it into the bumper!!!) there is slight damage on the lip that the cover went over on the edge of the bumper, I'm guessing which is why they installed it in the first place. The one I have to replace in black does not cover the lip only sits in the middle of the bumper. So I was looking at this BUMPER PROTECTOR GUARD PLASTIC BLACK on ebay I have previously bought a front grille from them I plan to install hopefully tomorrow. However it says that it does not fit the VRS model? Is there any difference in the bumpers standard and vrs as to why this would not fit?
  8. I installed an aliexpress reverse camera boot switch. It functions as it should, everything works just the lights in the boot and maxidot not displaying it is open. What wire would need to be snipped for those functions to work again? 🤔
  9. Maybe I've knocked it when installing rear dash came and reverse camera possibly.... However I've never noticed till opening the tailgate at night which I don't often do. I'll take a look
  10. I've also tested having the tailgate open, whilst the car is running. Handbrake off... no tailgate open warning. Like when the car is locked with it open, all doors and seatbelt warnings work, just not tailgate. Seems it just doesn't know the tailgate is open when it is, and the lights don't work in the boot. Very odd....?
  11. I noticed the other day that my interior lights in the boot did not come on. They aren't blown, as I took the bulbs and put it in the glove box which does come on and they both work. Tested the plugs with a light/circuit tester and it lights up, so there is power to it, however testing it with the boot lock mechanism in locked position they're still powered. I'm not sure if this is normal or not I would assume it would close connection when it thinks it is locked and come on when open? I also noticed that when they tailgate is open it does not display that it is open on the instrument cluster like it does when the doors are open? Any ideas, I'm a little confused. Besides that, everything else works as it should. Also if the tailgate is not shut properly the alarm will chirp to let me know.... So I am baffled, it seems to work so I am unsure on what the problem is. any help would be appreciated.
  12. Would be possible, or has anyone managed to change the grill without total front bumper removal. Could you access the plastic welds without totally removing the bumper? I do have quite small hands tbh so I'm just curious.
  13. Huh.. good to know, I won't be buying those ebay ones then. Thanks
  14. My octavia comes out of 3 month warranty from the dealer I bought it from in November, so planning to do do a few minor mods, First is to change the badges over. Does anyone know if there is actually any difference in the two of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284781459701?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110025%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.COMPOSITELISTINGS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220405142716%26meid%3Dc3deae97da4e4ceeb2ae9f7dc38600bf%26pid%3D101506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D25%26sd%3D386129911014%26itm%3D284781459701%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D3458402%26algv%3DAlgoIndex5SimRanker%26brand%3DPP&_trksid=p3458402.c101506.m1851 https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/octavia-iii/octavia-iii-original-skoda-emblem-int-version Thanks
  15. Is there a build thread for how to fit a manual lock from a LHD car to the passenger door of a RHD car? Recently my battery has started to die, I've had to keep jump starting and trickle charging. I need to get the car looked at asap, I have contacted a local specialist to have it looked at, either battery is on it's way out or alternator, maybe something is somehow draining power? I've run into the issue of the car being totally dead, having to manually open the drivers door, only to be faced with deadlocked passenger door... meaning the bonnet latch cannot be correctly pulled to release the bonnet. I did manage to slip the catch over the speaker and release the bonnet but I ideally in future don't want to do this and damage it. So if there is a build showing how to retro fit manual lock on the passenger door that would be great! Cheers
  16. I was recommended to do a res delete on my 2015 mk3. However, I've seen so many people on here and across the web that you get a horrible resonance and droning around 2-2/4k rpm. Which I don't really want. I would like to change the exhaust to something a bit louder, as I feel the stock sound of the car doesn't really match the car itself. I was looking at the Vibrant performance 2.5″ x 18″ Stainless Steel as recommended by other posts I have seen. What have other people done? Have they changed the whole set up, maybe cat back or from the downpipe, off the self aftermarket or anyone had custom ones made. I'm interested to see what people have had done, and what they sound like, as well as the cost? Let me know
  17. I was curious if any existed. I had heard of an alpine unit that worked as an OE would. Ease of being able to fit amp and sub. I have looked into plug and play sound set ups also.
  18. Hi all, I have 2015 Octavia Estate VRS. Are there any aftermarket head units available for this car, that will still retain all of the features of the car. I.e still using the multifunctional steering wheel, the multifunctional display/driver info system. With the ability to still change drive modes, with it still coming up on the head unit when changing from eco, normal, sport etc. and all car settings and car info, service status and parking cam and sensors oh and dab radio, assuming it would also work along side the unit in the glove box? I believe it would fit using a T harness and plug onto OEM can bus if so? Thank you.
  19. Thank you, All successfully fitted today, all working. Along with front and rear facing dash cams. My dad was astonished that something from Ali-Express worked. He didn't think it would lol! Thanks again for the guide, very helpful.
  20. Hi, from my understanding of reading this as I plan to fit this to mine, This connects up to the multimedia unit in the glove box and not the back of the headunit display? Thanks
  21. Thank you, I'm going to chase them up today and quote this part no.
  22. The guy in parts I spoke to, had even confirmed with me the exact same model unit number for my head unit, and even said it was an Amundsen MIB2, and struggled saying it which was a amusing. So with that fact I'm baffled as to why they need further technical assistance. They had my reg, my VIN number, head unit type and model, and still did not really know? I'd have thought even though I am lucky enough to have the MIB2 on my car, they'd be able to just order the key for my VIN no issues. It appears not, so I'm just waiting now till they come back to me.
  23. I have a 2015 VRS Estate. I believe it has Amundsen MIB2, model unit 5Q0035874A. Since buying the car I have wanted to have Smart Link enabled, as it has the option just needs enabling with activation key. I would very much like to use Android Auto. I phoned up Marshall's Skoda Croydon, as they're my closest branch, after emailing them and being told they had an activation key in stock. I sat on the phone for almost 2 hours just trying to call through to parts department. Finally I got through, and the guy took my reg and said they had 3 keys in stock however was not sure if the ones they had would work with my car? He then transferred me onto their master tech in servicing who said that my year of car was a transition year so it may or may not work and he was not sure why parts had told me they had 3 in stock as they are apparently car specific and need one ordered. I went back to the parts department, who then took my details and went to speak to the master tech himself, then about half an hour later called me back and said he's had to contact their technical parts department via email and needs to wait for a response from them to help. Once they have come back to him he shall call with an update. I started trying to phone them at 9:30am, by the time I was told they had to contact technical it was gone 11am. I honestly thought it would be a simple case of them saying yeah we have one in stock for your model or yeah we can order it for you, and book me in to have it all sorted. Has anyone else had this issue? I am still waiting for a call back and was told they can only contact them via email and there is no time limit on when they would respond, but usually within a couple hours to a day or two. Thanks.
  24. So I picked up my VRS Wagon 15 plate yesterday. Noticed it doesn't come with spare wheel space saver, as a lot of cars in the last few years have come with. Has anyone swapped out their puncture repair kit for a spare? My dad recommended me to take out the nice polystyrene divider in the boot and put a spare in there. However I quite like it how it is.
  25. Hello all, I am new here, I have just arrived home with my Octavia VRS Estate MK3 2015 plate! I love the car, had my eye on it for a while now, in the lovely blue I wanted with only 60k on the clock! Very well looked after and maintained. Unfortunately I will soon be able to drive my 2000 Golf GTI MK4 due to ULEZ, but the car has been passed over to my dad and we will try to get a CoC from VW and challenge TFL if it is under the NOx emissions! So now we have a new edition to our family of VW group collection! I am very happy with it, look forward to doing some subtle mods nothing too crazy. Our family consists of 1979 Mk1 Golf (currently in restoration, and engine upgrade) 1995 MK3 Golf GTI & a GTI Colour Concept, and the 2000 MK4 GTI. It's fair to say we are a VW Family through and through thanks to my dad and being taken to car meets and shows during my childhood. I am after some VRS floor mats for my new VRS though as it did not come with them, any suggestions on where I can get hold of genuine ones if they did them with VRS on? Also need an activation key for Smart Link on the head unit, unsure of what type I have as I know they did different versions of head unit. Cheers everyone!
