  1. Was chatting to a user in a Australian FB group whom said they also had issues, namely for them, the adblue tank is located in the rear bumper.
  2. Before you responded, I thought it could have something to do with the virtual pedal/boot release, which is standard on the RS. As some towbars also exlcuded Kodiaqs with the virtual pedal/boot release. If that was the case, I'd probably just disconnect it, never seams to work anyway.
  3. Thanks for your response and taking your time to share with myself and others. What type of race car? Sorry I'm not sure what you mean "fitting to the crash structure", its different to say a sportline? E.g. the dimensions of the tow bar itself are actually different. As I can see RS towbars, also fit other variants in the range. So I'm getting a little confused. I was aware the exhaust was different, but when I look at the below picture, unsure how it would have any impact on a towbar.
  4. So went into the towbar shop today to order in the actual towbar, which was going to be a: Brink SKU BR-633500 https://brink.eu/en-gb/search-results/ about $750 Aussie and $360 for the install. But at the 11th hour they checked the specs and it says "not for RS". Which has me confused, it can fit a sportsline but not an RS? The rear spoilers are largely the same.   6. Spoke to other VW/Skoda service center and they also quoted me $2600. He seamed embarassed at how expensive it was. Spoke to the tow bar specilist and said he could wire/install the offical module/wiring if I obtain it at no additonal install cost. Also familair with coding them in if needed, says its a mixed bag. Sometimes just work straight away, sometimes need some coding. So found this on Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B019IPYWQA/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Part number checks out, but the images don't. Lets see what arrives in the mail. Around $250 delivered vs closer to $600 locally. Crossing fingers, but my total price will be around $1400 now, still much better than $2600 through Skoda.
  7. So called back Skoda today, spoke to them about how the trailer hitch prepartion, cooling upgrades etc have already been done on my car. They advised that all Australian delivered Kodiaq's have this as standard. So the price to install a tow bar from them is still $2600 Aussie. He advised that wouild include the tow bar itself, the control module and wiring. I'm dubious though, it appears the control module (which is an expensive part https://australiatowbars.com.au/audi-a3-8v-vw-golf-7-skoda-octavia-iii-tow-bar-13-pin-wiring-kit-led-oem-305407300113-westfalia-genuine.html) looks to be part of the Trailer hitch preparation kit already, or maybe its not. Have contacted another VW/Skoda service center to see what they say.
  8. Thank everyone for your replies. So to confirm, I have 2021 Kodiaq RS diesel. The VIN plate says nothing about towing weights, but the VIN plate is likely different to yours in UK/EU. The plate references "motor vehicle standards act 1989" which is an Australian law. All the press kits in Australia, state towing capacity of 2000kg. When I called Skoda, they were happy to install it and thank to ApertureS, was able to confirm that my car has the trailer hitch preperation. Now my question 🙂 , what does the trailer hitch preperation actualy include/do? Does it include the control unit?

So in Aussie, under 750kg no brakes required, 750-2000 kg overide/inertial brake, 2000kg plsu electric https://www.racq.com.au/articles/rvs/2018/6/a-guide-to-trailer-brakes So since I started this thread, Found out I can tow upto 2000kg with the $1150 quoted price from reputable tow bar specialist, provided the trailer has overide/inertial brakes. For my use case, The Camper trailer I have, has both overide/inertial brake and electirc brakes. So all good in that regard. But I won't be getting any of the Skoda software assistance stuff such as turning off rear sensors, blind spot etc. Which I am interested in, but not for $1450 gap in price. So still have the following questions: Some Kodiaq's have the tow bar prep wiring preinstalled, how can I work out if I have this? And how would this help? Can I buy the genuine skoda wiring lume somewhere and have the 3rd party install and code it? Maybe Skoda will do a better price just on the wiring, vs the entire system for $2600.
  10. Howdy, as above I have a 2021 Kodiaq RS diesel. I bought it second hand and now considering getting a tow bar. Quote from Skoda to install one was $2600 Aussie!!!! ($1350 pounds). Quote from a reputable tow bar specialist was $1150 (tow bar and simple wiring lume for lights etc) which will only allow me to tow 750Kg and then an extra $750 for another wiring lume (made by TAG) if I want powered brakes for the trailer and could then tow 2000kg (maybe 2500kg). I read somewhere that some Kodiaq's have the tow bar prep wiring preinstalled, how can I work out if I have this? And how would this help? I'm dubious about the $750 wiring lume that is not an official part, rather made by a company called TAG, will it have all the features I need (parking sensors, if have any of reverse camera, ACC, blind spot monitors etc). Can I buy the genuine skoda wiring lume somewhere and have them install and code it? Cheers,

  12. So I have 2021 Kodiaq RS with the Extreme 20 inch factory rims, 8Jx20 ET41, with 235/45 R20 Pirelli Tyres. Like so : https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/565071490cha7-aluminium-rim-20-xtreme-skoda-41377.html Have the black out version of the kodiaq (black decals, rear skoda badge etc) and have replaced the front chrome badge with a black for a full knight rider look. But the gap in the wheel arch's has been bugging me. So I measured up and ordered hub centric spacers. 20mm for the front and 40mm for the rear. But now I'm getting itchy feet, am I compromising the safety/longevity/warranty of the vehicle?
  13. Recent got my hands on a 2021 Kodiaq RS (build date was late 2020 though) in black on black. Based in Adelaide/Australia. Looking to change a few things, to make it even blacker, inspired by : <removed> Replace the chrome skoda badge with a black one. Maybe even the front VRS badge. Tint the windows in nano cermamic, was thinking of only going 35%, had 25% on another car and night time driving/visabilty wasn't great (but that was done 10 years ago, perhaps tint internal visabilty has improved since then?). Rear reflector? Its the last point in partilcuar, keen on some advise. My Kodiaq has a rear reflector that spans the entire back. Like the picture below. But have seen other examples that have only reflectors on the left and right and some kind of grill insert in the middle. (second picture, which is a 2021 sportline model). Is that grill insert easy enough to find and retro fit? Other option would be to tint/wrap it Can I get the insert that is just black and not a grill? Assume the left and right side reflector are required for safety regs, best to leave them alone? Blacking them out would look good though IMO. Cheers
