This may not be due solely to sticky vanes. The N75 a definate probability. My turbo was taken off, cleaned to pristine condition. The fault remained. N75 was the culprit. Chris C. Is there any difference in the Darkside N75 as opposed to others at half the price? Thanks

With regards to the M Muscle treatment I see from previous posts that it works but where does the crap from the turbo end up ? Surely not into the particulate filter where it may stick? Not a criticism just interested to know.................... -

Is this where the remaining oil is?
Lee28 replied to Lofty79's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
When I change my oil and filter the filter housing drains off itself, once plastic Top has been unscrewed and removed. The nominal amount remaining at the bottom of the housing is easily mopped up by a suitable material which does not shred or leave material on the walls of the housing. Hope this helps. -
Found the problem at last.. Dreaded DogBone mount was on its way to the kennel in the sky...................

No, its got nothing to do with anything like that. Its a genuine buzz / vibration ... Yes the AA guy felt it... even through Doc Martin boot - soles

My 51 plate Octy was plagued with the same symptoms.. Hot drum.... The problem was the handbrake cable on one side not releasing after being applied. A temporary `fix` was to get my hand under the rear arch and give the cable a good shake before moving off. I fitted a new cable and its been free and cool since. I don`t know whether your model has return springs on the cable, but my original one was pretty corroded and siezed, therefore not doing what it was designed to do very well .......

Thanks for the reply Lofty. I agree with your comments that there is no direct link from the motor etc. That`s what makes this all the more puzzling .....

Hello all, Ive recently ( past 2 weeks ) been noticing a buzz ( felt through my foot ) on the throttle pedal. This has been happening at low revs such as when moving off from a standstill. Myself and the AA patrolman checked the car over for loose bits under the front bulkheads and found nothing loose but a roughness ( rumble ) on the clutch pedal. I took a guess that vibration must be linked the roughness in the clutch pedal traveling along the pedal box or bulkhead to the throttle pedal. The car has covered 207,000 and the second clutch and D.M.F. was needing replacement anyway so I did it using a Sachs kit from Darkside. Anyway the clutch is so light and smooth now Im pleased I did it, BUT .... The buzz on the throttle pedal is still there ....So my question is ... Has anyone else with a Mk1 experiences of something ive described? Any input would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks guys

Sorry to see your thinking of selling Andrew. If it had the economy of my oil burner I would be tempted.

Okay thanks for the info .... happy gaming ...

Hi, still for sale? Offers open? Thanks
-
I noticed that you mentioned the smoke goes away after warm up but reappears on acceleration on motorway. I had a similar experience some time ago and found a small hole ( caused by chaffing on pulley ) in the pipe coming up from the intercooler. This caused overfuelling during acceleration hence the smoke............. might be another area to investigate? GOOD LUCK
