  1. Well it looks like it's my turn to have a bad injector so looking at all options. I'm wondering if anyone has actually found a decent source for an aftermarket or recon unit that's actually worth fitting? Something that might last 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Cheers
  2. What engine? Might help to add that as they might be different. The 1.6 tdi is a 140,000 miles or something. No idea on the 2L though or the petrols.
  3. On my previous car it was blowing from cylinder 1 into the water jacket, never overheated, just had strange coolant pressure issues. Eventually stuck a pressure gauge on the expansion tank and went for a spin, as soon as you hit a hill and the boost kicked in harder you could watch the pressure rise sharply. It was going over 20psi in the cooling system. That was a 2007 2L pd
  4. Big fan of TRW, I've never had a problem with them and they seem to last well.
  5. Yeh same as mk4 golf amongst others, seat ibiza, leon etc all used the same one too. Any of them with the ALH, AGR and I think the ASV engines I believe. Stick ALH hard plastic boost pipe into google, quite a few come up
  6. I read injectors and egr were common but not sure if the injectors are mainly on the earlier ones. Previous owner of my car had the egr replaced twice though withon a 150,000 miles. I got it turned down a bit when I got the car. Other than that it's a fairly strong engine. Darkside got one to over 250bhp before it developed any issues.
  7. When I first got my 2014 rapid back in July 2023 I could connect to the ccm no problem, did all the tear drop wipers, changedn the one touch indicators to 4 flashes etc. But recently I wanted to see if it was possible to have power to the windows for 10-15 minutes after switching the ignition off like every other vw based car I've owned over the years. Anyway, it just will not connect, I'm using the hex v2 can with full up to date vcds. I can connect to everything else as normal. Is there a trick to reset the can bus or that maybe? Or some other trick to try? Used to work on the mk4 golfs, just enter the same coding and got things working. I tried pulling fuse 20 or 24? Can't remember but according to Mr Google it was the fuse for the ccm. Pulling fuse 14 has also cured mysteries on the mk4 golf so thought it could be worth a try. Basically I'm looking for other options other than disconnecting the battery lol. Ps everythng related to the ccm works fine, windows, mirrors etc. Cheers
  8. Hey all, been a vw based car driver for a number of years now, seat, vw etc and have recently aquired a Skoda rapid 1.6tdi elegance. All my queries etc have brought me here every time so thought I ought to join up. Cheers
  9. Not sure if this got resolved but thought I should add my experience, then if someone else is googling it may come up. I had this exact same fault, it was the lower boost pipe had split. Bottom left. It had just perished over time.
