Mechatronics failure ? 10666
As per defsix's first post Transmission-online.shop ECU Doctor ECU.de I used ecu testing https://www.ecutesting.com They are UK based And I found the service very good I have approx 20K miles up since and all is good. It will require you, or your mech to strip, ship and rebuild on return. It threw up a lot for faults that had to be cleared using a reader and doing the basic settings. Not a job for the faint hearted, but the videos ECU testing have on u tube are very good and will talk you through it. I recommend a pump for filling as it takes 6 to 7 L to fill.. Fionn

Full Matrix Led headlights on motorway
I would love an answer to this one too.. Bugs me every time I get on a motorway yet the minute you hit the off ramp it defaults back to normal. Not that we have a lot of motorways.. 😆

Mechatronics failure ? 10666
Hi all. Just a quick update. I decided to go with ECU testing in the UK. I shipped the unit @ 3 o clock on Monday and it was returned @11 am the following Tuesday. I cant fault that. 5 working days including shipping from and back to Ireland Shipping cost 95. (they will only collect for free in the UK) Repair cost 505 including return shipping. (No VAT or duty charged) Oil, filter and pressure filling tool cost approx 230. All figures in EURO. Total 830 I tried gravity filling with a tube but it was a nightmare so bought the pressure tool. One thing that I did notice. Be careful after you fill with oil and screw in the drain to warm the oil up. The drain picked up on the stand pipe as I was running it in and initially stopped short of fully home. Luckily I noticed it wasn't home before tightening fully as I could have stripped the plastic threads. I backed off and ran it up again slowly. This time it picked up on the stand pipe and it wound the pipe in ahead of it. I only discovered this when I went to wind the stand pipe in 2 turns only to find it nearly fully home. I had to back it down 2 turns to let it drain. I haven't heard anybody mention this before so found it a little strange. DUNNO!! It did throw up a lot of faults after, including gearbox / clutch faults which wouldn't initially clear so I had to carry out the basic settings . (Lots of strange noises and clunking when you do that). That cleared it. I have about 1500 miles on it since and no problems, so I happy out!!

I Pulled a lot of bits to get to the filter easier and have a better look at what the top looked like. Filter was clean so that's good. I plan on doing the oil and filter when it's going back in. I've ordered a basic filling tool that screws into the sump drain and on to the 1L can. Gravity will fill it up. It's on stands at the moment so I'll have to drop it. Let it drain fully and then service and test it. Lots of videos on utube. Ecutesting say that the unit will be plug and play but if they have to do anything to it, they will let you know. I think I'm going to go this route even though it is more expensive but they return a unit that just has to be installed so here's hoping.

Mechatronics failure ? 10666
As ar as I know. I used a launch code reader and recorded the values but I can't find the recording now. I have the unit out now and getting ready to ship it. Not too difficult to do but I pulled the battery n breather box just for more access. I know the error was P173500 and all I had was 246 and reverse.

Mechatronics failure ? 10666
Cheers. Been on Utube all night. I have the module part number so I know what to order. I got an error code and checked the pressures. It was giving me a minus value so I'll include all this when sending. I'm looking at this service but haven't made any decisions yet. https://www.ecutesting.com/product-catalogue/skoda/superb/ecu-transmission/etm27711h-f/ Now I just have to find something to drive for 2 weeks while I figure it out. Thanks Fionn

Mechatronics failure ? 10666
Morning defsix. Thanks for this info. I just got P173500 on my 192 C Superb ( Based in Meath) yesterday so have spent a lot of time trawling the net for an easy fix. There isn't one! I am considering sending the unit to the UK as i think they provide a life time warranty and I don't want to do this again. Is there much involved in the removal/ installation? I havent done it before and I don't have a pit or lift so it'll have to be done with ramps / stands. Are there any things to watch out for ? I am a mech by trade but not car however I do most of my own basic maintenance, except for gearbox strip outs.... Also. I do an 80 mile round trip for work and it happened initially on my way there yesterday. It reset but happened again on the way home. Should I bite the bullet and strip it today or could I get a week out of it while I scratch my head? Any / all help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Fionn

Full Matrix Led headlights on motorway
Has anybody come up with a reason/solution to the actual question asked. Why do the LED headlights not light up the Left side when on a Motorway?? It's obviously programming but why and how do you alter it?? Thanks.

Superb MK 3 Tow bar wiring retrofit
Finally. Towbar coded by a local guy using a remote access, R.A.D.E. thingie. He plugged in and a tech remotely accesses the car to download the coding. A few teething problems, indicators on the trailer acting as brake lights etc. Turns out it was set to USA. Changed to "the rest of the world", locked up and let it sit dead for 20 mins and all worked properly after. Now I am looking or info on fitting a rear camera. If anybody can advise... Thanks

2018 Kodiaq heated leather seats.
Hi all. Just wondering if someone could advise or direct me to info regarding troubleshooting/ replacing the heater pads on a 2018 kodiaq with leather seats. It is intermittently blowing the fuse for the heated front seats but not sure which seat is causing the problem or if its a base or back.. Or.. if its wiring or control. Wife's car so it needs "urgent" attention. Any help would be greatly appreciated Fionn

Superb MK 3 Tow bar wiring retrofit
Thanks for that. I eventually bit the bullet and got a guy to connect in for me. His VCDS wasn't up to date so am waiting to get it programmed. Hopefully next Wednesday. Till then my dash lights up like a Christmas tree and it has thrown all the toys out of the pram. No ACC front assist etc..

Superb MK 3 Tow bar wiring retrofit
Hi All My name is Fionn, located in Ireland, Meath, Navan, and a New member to the forum today. I have been hiding in the background for a long time but now need to Pick the collective brains of the group if that’s ok. I have just purchased a 2019 Mk3 Superb hatch 2L D 190ps auto (Ex UK reg BT69XFM ), having bent my 170 Kombi in the ice last month. I have purchased and fitted an OEM Swivel Towbar (3V0092160D) and module and am now in the process of installing the harness (3V0055204C) that runs from the rear to the fuse board as it didn’t come with trailer prep. I am just wondering if anybody can help with the connections to the BCM and fuse box, or if there is a link to a thread where this has been discussed before. I have searched but can’t seem to find the specifics. I have watched a YouTube post on a mk 2 Kombi that shows how to connect in but the layout is totally different to the Mk3 My Queries are, for a start. When connecting at the front.. 1) How do you insert the connections into the fuse box? Do you have to release a lock to allow them slot in 2) The instructions show the removal of a power cable from “pin 3 F121” and re route through a splitter to allow power run to fuse F22. Can any body show where pin 121 is on the back of the fuse box. There appears to be 2 possibilities but not sure. 3) Are the connectors to the BCM the same construction as the MK 2 , I.E. can you disconnect and split to remove the pins and reassemble. BCM appears to be well hidden and is there an easy way to do this. Any Techs that I have spoken to have fitted to cars with tow bar prep and not carried out the front connections so they are as much in the dark as I. I may look into getting a Main dealer or good Auto elec to connect and program ( if I can Find one or if anybody has suggestions in my area) if it becomes too much of an ordeal but decided to try here first. I would like to have it fitted properly and not splice into wires so am fussy about getting it done right. Ill try post photos of the digging I have done so far but not sure if I am allowed yet. Thanks in advance for all/any input and advice. Also, if I have posted in the wrong section etc please let me know. Thanks Fionn
