Octavia iV battery size?
I remember back a few months when it was hot and i switched the aircon on, my mileage said 38 as it had been charged at work and it dropped to 32 when hitting the aircon switch to the on position. Hasten to ass it was rapidly switched back of. Then went back to 38... Are you running aircon on all the time?

Octavia iV battery size?
Mine charges about 11.5kw from zero miles. As PetrolDave says your mileage range is only for the useable kw as the unusable is for when you are at zero miles but the car will still have some kw in reserve to tootle about.

Advice sought on iV pros and cons for my slightly unusual usage situation.
I wouldn't say that it's a privileged position lol. The volvo I had until March was costing me an extra 430 a month in tax.. It's not like it was in the 90s lol... The government hammer you just because you get a car purely for business needs... Now it's less than 90 a month as its a hybrid...

Advice sought on iV pros and cons for my slightly unusual usage situation.
i have the 1.4 IV and at home it charges from the plug socket at a rate of 2.4kwh so empty to full is about 11.6kw which costs £2.43. On the pod point at Tesco or others it will only take a max of 3.6kwh so around 3 hrs from empty. I do this a fair bit and also at home. Average UK price for kwh ex motorway services is around £0.48ppkwh. With charging and a full tank of juice I'm getting around 650 mile range which isn't to bad. Again mine is a company car and only took this model to save me in BIK tax which on the Volvo XC i had until march was extortionate BIK...

1.4 TSI iV vRS DSG 2021 Estate - Wish List
Lol didn't have a little green snake in my boot when i got my car.....😄

add USB charging socket
What i have done is run a USB cable from the boot which is perm live to my Road angel as it has sleep mode but needs constant power and it has fitted neatly from the 12v in the boot to the camera. Took about half an hour. Or you can get a hardwire kit as mentioned and feed it to the fuse box. As mine is a company car i dont want any interaction with the fuse box ect so i cant get blamed for issues lol. Mine works a treat.

Not sure why you can't get the same charge rate as I do as I'm only using the socket in the kitchen @ 13 amps..

1.4 TSI iV vRS DSG 2021 Estate - Wish List
I use the granny charger and it conditions the charge to the battery, and skoda say its OK to fully charge. It does say to fully charge from 0 mainly so the battery is conditioned correctly. I charge mine twice a week.

1.4 TSI iV vRS DSG 2021 Estate - Wish List
I have the 1.4TSI IV and to charge from home via the granny charger it draws 2.48 kwh from the plug and from empty takes around 3hr20 mins ish to full. It will only take a max of 3.6kwh from the various charging points with the direct cable so this then takes it approx 3 ish hrs. At home it costs around £2.86 to charge it from empty and that gives around 39-42 miles. Just don't use a normal extension lead as they get very very warm. You can get purpose built one for around 40 quid which is a higher rated cable / socket/ plug / inline circuit protector which plugs in you home socket. IMO it really should have a bigger battery, more like a 15/18kwh but hey ho it saves me loads on company car tax...

How to save settings like EV use in so you don't have to keep resetting every time you use the car
Does anyone know how you save settings to the main user such as EV mode from full electric to hybrid, lane assist where it annoys you when it rumbles the steering and tries to pull you in. I Cant fathom out how to set the settings as permanent as they revert back to the prior settings every time i start the car again. Its pixxxing me off lol. Many thanks

High Beam Control (Light Assist)
I had this feature in the xc 40 i just got rid of and yes it was ok but not worth 180 quid to activate it, when the volvo was free and a feature. I have turned it on for the 1 month FOC but not driven in the dark yet lol. The thing that i think is beneficial is the speed sign recognition which i missed once i got the octavia, then discovered you can purchase it for 70 quid. I think they have a cheek charging for safety features imo but that the way of the world these days.

Dash cam port C on rear view mirror
Like I said prior the current from the C port isn't that high especially to run dash cams that are current hungry... Can you not get a hard wire power supply? Road angel do them where you can plug it into your fuse panel safely and feed to the camera.. Google ebay item 115537391848

Dash cam port C on rear view mirror
Hi i have had a couple of makes, I had road hawk for a few good years but recently say a couple of years ago i changed to road angel. In my XC 40 i had this camera in the rear and the road angel halo ultra in the front but as i said the usb c will not power up the ultra model, it also wont from the 2 usb c ports in the centre console nor the one in the rear. I don't subscribe to the ones with screens in them as i think you are paying for something that isn't really needed. The road angel has Wi-Fi connectivity to view and download clips which is fine for me. i haven't put one in the rear as the car i have wasn't specked with a rear wash wipe which is beyond me lol.. Link to road angel... https://www.roadangelgroup.com/

Dash cam port C on rear view mirror
Hi newbie here. I have the 1.4 IV and was also impressed with a USB C in the rear view mirror housing. I would just like to add that i had front and rear in my Volvo but the front camera will not power up from this usb c port at all. I have the road angel halo ultra which is the model that will not power up as i believe there is to little current to power it up. I have fitted the road angel halo drive which is fine. I would just check the power requirements before you take the plunge and buy a FFC. The road angel is a neat and compact unit and sits behind the rear view mirror and with the ucb c to usb c 30cm cable its also very discreet.
