  1. Just to follow this up.... Had my car serviced/MOT a few weeks ago and all good, no issues Also went ahead and signed up for the All In One service package and used it to cover the costs - paying monthly.
  2. Great timing this.. I used to have a 2018 VRS with winter pack and I swear the heated screen cleared the whole screen so I was confused to see the above on my replacement vehicle, a 1.5 TSI Sportline 2020. I never questioned it but am thankfully that someone has asked this question here and I can relax knowing mine is normal…. I still believe my old car cleared the whole thing though!
  3. Am at just over 40k so presumably spark plugs will be extra in that case? @Rooted - thank you - I forget off top of my head exactly what was done at year 3 but I know brake fluid was. Will dig out receipt for other bits.. Good point re going variable but am thinking to sign up to Skoda's All In service/warranty/MOT/breakdown plan at £35/month... That or change cars - am considering changing to a Seat Leon ST FR Black Edition Auto.... Is the general consensus that there is no penalty for simply waiting until March, despite the 'service now due' message, ie its up to me?
  4. Exactly what I hoped to hear, thanks very much Gaz...
  5. Greetings and happy new year to all... Long time member that rarely posts but hoping someone can advise. My car was last serviced and MOTd in mid March 2023 at 31k miles and I usually cover 10-11k miles a year. I wasnt expecting a service so soon but a circa 1200 miles/week long holiday in Scotland late last year has obviously brought this forward quicker than expected and since mid Dec '23, I have been getting the 900 mile countdown warning for its next service, which I thought was still a bit early. I know it's estimated but I've covered about 4-450m since and just had the 'Oil Inspection due' message and yet still 500 miles off covering exactly 10k miles since last service. The MOT isn't due until March and I would rather not have to revisit the dealer a second time just for that. I purchased the car Used in August 2021 with finance (and immediately paid it off) with a 2 year warranty/service plan which expired in August '23 however, the car also had a previous service plan from last owner, with one service remaining. This shouldn't have been possible but my dealer has confirmed it's available so the service will be free. My question is - am I free to have the service when I want to or must I have the service now because the message has come up? Can Skoda tell when this appeared and penalise me for waiting until say March, so I can have the MOT completed at the same time to save me another dealer visit? Hope I've made that clear Thanks
  6. My 2018 VRS suffered a failed battery. AA confirmed it, car booked in at local dealer and battery replaced free of charge so yes, mine was under warranty so see no reason why yours would not be.
  7. Without a doubt it helps. Had a 2015 SE-L and didn’t like the normal mode as felt I’d drift either side on the motorway. With sport mode enabled, it stopped, no question.
  8. Please send me a link to the latest version - thank you.
  9. Please can you send me a link also? I am currently on 0475... Thank you
  10. Happened to me a few years ago, first time ever with any car I’ve owned, and ever since I now leave my car parked in gear - as it says in the manual, which surprised me! Partner applied the hand brake as usual, got out of the car and retrieved something from the boot, shut and locked the car and came inside the house... A little later on I looked out the window to see the car across the way - it had rolled down and bumped into the house opposite! No major harm done (could have been worse as there is usually a car in front of that house!) but like others, had it checked and no fault found... Was not impressed.
  11. I did just this after signing on the dotted line for my MY18 VRS 230. Actually left it a couple of days and paid it off using alternative (cheaper) finance, keeping the 2 free services and £2500 contribution. I think I ended up paying about £12 in interest is all. Very easy to do - just ring up, ask for a settlement figure, they send confirmation and paying details - job done
  12. They are developing for iOS - believe it’s due sometime this year.... From what I’ve read I think one may have to change the actual device to support iPhones so you may want to hold off until they announce more info....
  13. FYI I have a 230 manual estate in standard red - its a great colour, even for a Spurs fan - on 19" Xtremes without DCC and have no issue with the ride....coming from a 2015 Elegance estate on 17"s!
  14. Black Design Pack Plus (according to the link showing spec) comes with the 19" Extremes in anthracite as standard so either they swapped or got them painted or something... Here's what they look like in Silver on a Race Blue VRS via Autocar review... https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/skoda/octavia-vrs/first-drives/skoda-octavia-vrs-long-term-review Hope that helps.
  15. My MY18 VRS 230 has a daft sat nav too...I'm often being advised to come off a motorway only to rejoin it - doesn't make any sense at all and this is having selected the 'Fast' route of the three. Its caught me out a few times. My 2015 Elegance was faultless with its sat nav though, never had this issue. Something clearly wrong with the pre installed maps on my new car. I hope they put it right soon.
  16. I’m sure you’re correct, it’s just, they are very similar.. Here’s one I took a day or so after collection.... I was amazed at the ‘pop’ from standard red...
  17. Dont mean to be funny but are you sure it’s Velvet red? Looks just like my Corrida Red in that pic. Will post a pic of mine once the weather changes for the better and I give it a wash....
  18. Where did you get the arm rest tray insert from pls?
  19. Just to echo whats been said and my experience cancelling a new PCP. I've had my MY18 VRS for almost a month. Bought on PCP initially (just went with the longest possible term (48 months), smallest mileage (5k) and smallest upfront deposit (£500) - so as to get all quotes based on same figures. Found a great deal which included the £2500 Skoda contribution plus 2 services. Two days after collecting the car I called VWFS and cancelled the contract. They calculated the balance (2 days interest worked out at an extra £6 something) and I was advised I had 30 days to pay off via bank transfer. They sent a confirmation letter a few days later and a just few days ago I cleared the payment. I keep the contribution and 2 services and got a much better rate elsewhere. Very easy process. Happy days.
