  1. I had these faults when I picked the car up a year ago. I returned it, picked up a hire car which Skoda paid for. Took 5 months for Skoda to rewrite the software. Check you have the updated software, it is to do with the camera. My problem now is the interior light has a mind of it's own coming and off when it wants. No solution yet.
  2. I suspect the issue is VAG don't want to spend the money. Short term thinking, they had to provide me with a hire car for 5 months snd gave me compensation
  3. My car has software 2460, I picked it up in July. It had the terrible software faults, I picked it up on Friday, returned it on Monday, it took 5 months to sort it out. There were 9 major software faults that had to have the software completely rewritten. My theory, no proof, is Skoda knew the faults, they were too major to ignore, but had the British Leyland attitude of sell the car and sort them out after. That saying the do seem to be sorted, I have had the car back for 8 months and all seems OK. My main niggles now is the interior lights have a mind of their own. They sometimes come on by them, I turn them off and they come back on. On, off, on off until they decide to work or the system crashes Hopefully the dealer will sort it at next week's service
  4. Mine seems to be OK. 1 or 2 other niggles, the interior light just comes on by magic and the screen has crashed a couple of times, but the travel assist seems OK since the new software in December
  5. Hello Jimmy The software faults seem to be fixed, I had my software update in December and not had a problem since. When the Superb is all working it is a lovely car and I get 50mpg. I still have software niggles, the interior light sometime comes on for no reason, I turn it off and it comes back on 5 minutes later. This can go on for 20 minutes then it works as it should. I have also had the main screen crash. It comes back next time you start the car. Annoying!
  6. I picked my car up in July, and the problems were immediate. I returned the car and the dealership had it for 5 months before the software fix came out in December. Since then I have not had any problems
  7. My software upgrade was in December and pleased to say seems yo be working. I sm convinced Skoda knew about the problems when the launched the car but didn't want to move the date. They would sort the problems when they had the money Something British Leyland used to do and where are they now?
  8. I agree we should not be quality control , especially as Skoda like to boast how good their quality control is. Can't help with your questions I am afraid as I have a petrol.
  9. Thanks for that, very interesting
  10. My update in the beginning of December seems to have sorted out the problems. The car is permanently online, Skoda have a server in Germany, the cars talk t that. There are updates on line but this update is very large affecting various safety systems and has to be done at the dealers. I have had no problems with doors. Mysoftware version is 2460 it was one of the the first cars apparently, the software update doesn't seem to alter the software version number Hope that helps
  11. Sorry to hear that. I know it took a few goes to do my update, it kept getting stuck halfway. Eventually the dealer tried a different machine (same software) and the car accepted the update. 6 weeks on, all good.......so far. Skoda have really messed this one up!
  12. At least they are cancelling themselves almost immediately. That is progress!
  13. I had the update a month ago, since then all has been good. I have had a warning light come on once or twice, but it cancels after a minute or so . I still don't trust the car fully, but, I have had no problems since the update Hopefully the update will work for you
  14. Not the car it seems, skodaconnect is down across UK. Apparently a fault in Germany.
  15. Anyone had this..... drove the Superb today, all well. Went to drive it 10 minutes later, got a message saying log in, your account has not been used for a long time. Put email and password in and then said unable to log in. The Internet globe top left is dim suggesting not connecting to the Internet. Can't get to radio, navigation or any settings. Dealer says, might be Skoda server in Germany. Anyone else got this problem

  17. I got my car back on December 16th after the update. There has been a few hiccups, i.e. a ping and warning light but it cancels after a minute or two. The worst event was 3 warning lights, and they cancelled themselves the next day. Touching a lot of wood and keeping my fingers crossed there is a vast improvement. I still start the car every day with a huge amount of apprehension. It is not perfect, but perhaps on the right track?
  18. I can't believe Skoda are now SO bad. After years of an improving reputation, they are quickly becoming the skip on wheels they were years ago.
  19. When I picked up my car in July, the radio did not work unless the Infotainment was reset every time. I had to press and hold the button in front of the screen for 15 secs. Eventually a new part had to be ordered from the factory, a 10 week wait. Skota technical department know about this fault
  20. Thanks for that, depressing isn't it! I had my update 3 weeks ago, I get the odd warning that clears itself after a minute or 2. Not had the full Christmas tree effect yet
  21. I emailed cariad, I found the MD email address. He replied saying they had not provided the software for the superb
  22. Discuss that with the accountants. Mercedes have an 'ipad' in the centre console. In design, they insist on a smaller, cheaper chip to save a few cents. The problem is it seriously harms the speed of the processor.
  23. Because it is a big software package. I think certain things have to be uninstalled before other things can be installed. The software can take quite a few hours when doing a cabled installation, it would be a lot longer over the air
  24. That is the software fault. The car needs the update. Keep us informed
  25. Below is my system Information, I picked my car up in July and had multiple problems. Since update car seems to be OK. Only 2 weeks so a lot can still go wrong
