  1. If only 3 to5% have this problem, what is the difference between the cars with and without? All skoda should have to do is work out what is different, part? Software? and replace it
  2. We should NOT have to mess around disconnecting the battery every other day on what is supposed to be Skoda's premier car . The car should be Superb when it leaves the factory, it is not, it is 3rd rate. Why did Skoda sell a faulty 3rd rate product? Why do they not communicate with their customers? Why has it taken 4 months to sort out the problem. Skoda should be ASHAMED they have let their customers down
  3. Thank you , good to know. I was told by my dealer that the update will be this week, but nothing has happened
  4. Yes those are the warnings. My dealer says driving with those systems out of action could be unsafe. They also say driving a car with those warning lights on would fail the MOT and could invalidate your insurance The dealer also says : "Skoda have told us that the software fix will be released for the UK in week 45. This is week commencing 4th November. We have no fixed date ! They have said that this is a over the air update (the car will update itself) but the dealers will also be able to “push” the fix to the cars."
  5. The legal argument is, "the product is not fit for purpose ". If the safety systems are not working it is not fit. If you have a warning light on your dashboard the car is illegal to drive, it will fail an MOT. That is why my dealer has the car, given me a courtesy car since July and won't release it back to me
  6. Re the software update, the dealer says The update will be an over the air update, but the dealers will be able to update it as well. As my car has been with the dealer since July, they will install then thoroughly test.
  7. I haven't yet, Been abroad but back today My dealer says the fix will be issued week beginning 3 Nov, but executive office says no news of a fix! I will give them this week
  8. I emailed the MD of Cariad. He replied saying his firm was NOT involved with the Superb software
  9. I have been emailing and hopefully irritating the Skoda executive for customer services and the MD, happy to give their email addresses. They don't answer questions but they must know more than they admit
  10. Very interesting. I picked my superb up in July , next day wad back at the dealers and I have not seen it for nearly 4 months due to the software faults. I am going to ask for my money back and buy a Nissan. I have bought skoda for 30 years and never had anything like this. I think skoda is treating us with contempt!
  11. That is a very good question, one Skoda should answer!
  12. Very interesting but 30% is still a lot of people who have bought an expensive car. If some cars have the problem but not others, why can't the manufacturer analyse why some do and some don't and fix it? After nearly 4 months waiting, I am thinking of asking for my money back. I have had an email from the customer relations executive that said I can confirm that I have again received an update from the Škoda Factory this morning confirming that they are, at this time, still unable to provide Škoda UK with any information on when the software update to rectify the issues experienced will be releaed
  13. It is apparently on all superbs. The latest update I have is quote, "I can confirm that I have again received an update from the Škoda Factory this morning confirming that they are, at this time, still unable to provide Škoda UK with any information on when the software update to rectify the issues experienced will be releaed." There are multiple reports of this software failure from all over Europe
  14. Sorry to hear about the problems. I don't know about the battery because I have only driven mine for 10 miles in 3 months before the dealer took it back, but that shouldn't be happening. I have recently emailed the Skoda UK managing director complaining about the car and have had replies so the faults are known about at the top. Skoda uk are waiting for a major software fix from the factory
  15. With the greatest respect, We should not have to do this to a brand new car, the car that is the flagship model of the brand . Skoda should be ashamed that their best model is such a failure. Skoda should also be ashamed that this failure has gone on for 3 months without a fix and without the brand giving some help and information
  16. You should not have to do this. It is an expensive car, it should work! Take it back to Skoda and complain
  17. There is obviously a fault. You have paid a lot of money for the car. Take it back, complain, and say put it right. You should not have to be removing fuses, there should not be warning lights on a new car. The more customers who make a fuss, the sooner things will be put right. Remember you have paid a lot of money, do not accept rubbish
  18. I think that can be adjusted, I hope so!
  19. It is a disgrace that Skoda did not.... realise there was a major fault which seems to affect all superbs, and if they did know, have Knowingly sold faulty cars. It has taken 3 months so far and Skoda have still not found a solution. My dealer says. ". I will keep pestering the brand as I’m sure lots of dealers are currently doing". Skoda executive office said "I do understand that the Škoda Factory is working on this update as a priority and am hoping to have further information on the release date for this update shortly" I feel Skoda has seriously let down the brand, I know of people who have cancelled orders because of this.
  20. My dealer does not think it is a good idea driving, protective passenger assist means air bags are not working etc
  21. The factory has issued a TPI. TPI = Technical Product Information. A bit like an internal dealer memo that warns of defects and recalls. The TPI reference number that has been issued for the software update is 2075197/3. All dealers should have the notice
  22. As I understand it... yes. There is a major software fault which is crashing the car computer
  23. Update from my dealer, tge software fault is with the front assist camera on the windscreen. The fault update code is ...tpi2075197/3. my dealer says many dealers are pestering the brand for an update as this is a common fault
