  1. This means I'd need to visit dealer or other ODIS technician to ask for SwAP activation? Also is there a real noticeable difference using the mode selection?
  2. Is there an option to code the mode select option to pre-FL Octavia MK4 with 1.5 TSI engine? There isn't a button, obviously, since the equipment wasn't selected at purchase. However, AFAIK, you can select and customize the driving mode through the infotainment as well. Also, does the mode selection actually bring any noticeable effect on the engine responsiveness and steering feel? Thanks!
  3. I'd say the quoted symptom points me to the direction that the sensor ring was damaged. I'd check the sensor ring. If it's damaged, I'd stick the old ABS sensor back and replace the hub. If the ring is fine, then the problem is obviously somewhere else.
  4. You have probably misdiagnosed the issue. The Octavia mk4 has know issue with ABS sensor rings disintegrating on the rear wheel hubs. So check the integrity of the ABS ring.
  5. There are a few people on this forum that have cleaned the touch sensitive slider and power button, rectifying the issue without changing the whole screen.
  6. I have no experience in that and don't think it can be done.
  7. Check for a protective film, but be aware not to scratch the real screen, as it might seem like there's a protective film but there isn't. The original screen is matte. If unsure, send close-up images of the screen and its borders. Edit: In my view, volume control and power-on/off issues are of different source, since those controls both live on under the screen on a separate bezel, not on it.
  8. Your problem sounds like hardware related issue with the touchscreen, probably related to humidity. Maybe it registers a ghost input in the "menu" area? Try cleaning it more thoroughly, using microfiber cloth and screen cleaner, especially around the edges.
  9. I've updated it yesterday to 1989 through OTA. Hadn't had any issues with it as of yet. H61, early 2024 build.
  10. Do you have experience with a pre-facelift one? If not, I guess the systems are not that different between the versions. Info for pre-facelift MK4. Yes, AEB works on manuals. It does stop the car completely except if you intervene - input throttle, or the danger disappears. Stalling the engine is the last thing to worry about in those circumstances I think. I have had only one erroneous activation of the AEB in 2 years owning and I didn't let the car stop fully. Otherwise, the system is pretty forgiving and doesn't alert you too often. I've had experience with Suzuki, Hyundai and VW & Skoda AEB cars. The VW & Skoda are the least panicky and alert you later than the others. I hope this helps!
  11. The suspension is indeed quite soft from factory, so maybe look at upgrade paths, like Bilstein B6.
  12. You should ask the dealer to look into it. It happened to my pre-FL car built in early 2024. The dealer did OCU and infotainment updates and it never happened again.
  13. Is there an option to do a module backup with VC Tools - then switch back to the backup if the other presets are not good?
  14. Has anyone done the upgrade with https://www.ars24.com/en/skoda-octavia-iv-loudspeaker-front-option? I saw comments for their subwoofer for O4 on the German Skoda Community forum.
  15. I have the 1.5 TSI with manual box, in these 18+ months, I haven't had it stalled, and the car starts pretty quickly when clutch pedal is depressed. @pinkpanther how would you describe the difference in the throttle response? I've been looking at it for a while, as I'd like a bit faster throttle response, but I don't have mode selection option on mine. Did the consumption go up as well?
  16. @Phaserrr Do you have any issues with the radar or headlights after lowering?
  17. It looks great! Is it with twist-beam axle? Thank you for your valuable input!
  18. Nice! Can you share some pictures? Has the ride become harsher? No issues with the matrix headlights blinding others? Thank you!
  19. The OP doesn't say anything about having an RS.
  20. Noo - not an RS. 1.5 TSI
  21. Not all come with a mode button. Mine doesn't. :) There's the trouble of deleting it, but there's also the trouble of installing one. :D It would be nice if there's a chance of having the driving modes in the menu anyway - I think @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits has a solution for it - IIRC, they offer them in the SWAP codes list...
  22. Let us know how this goes! :)
  23. Has anyone had any suspension upgrade on the standard Octavia MK4 suspension? Thinking about Bilstein B6 or Koni SA. It seems like Bilstein would be a bit more consistent, according to threads about older Superb/Octavia models. However, I am afraid that they might increase the ride height, which would necessitate a radar/camera calibration.
  24. @Skipper91144 Have you noticed any flashing from the other side about your matrix lights? Any notable difference in the light beam height? From what I know, lowering the car without relearning the adjustments, might indicate to the auto-leveling that the car is loaded and would drop the beams closer to you. Any difference in this regard? Thanks!
  25. Both versions have GPF, but they don't use AdBlue. The operating principle is different to DPF, and should be less prone to failures AFAIK.
