I sometimes find the same floatiness bothering me, especially after driving another car. It feels like there's unnecessary rebound when moving slow speed over obstacles - and it gets less bothersome the higher the speed. That's why I inquired in the past for experiences on suspension upgrades. I have no clue if B4 is enough an upgrade for it - I'd like to hear about it if someone did replace them on all corners. I think there are two upgrade options. One is B6, which can be installed on the factory springs. Some users have installed them and report good results, albeit they have done it with lowering springs. They report a bit stiffer ride over small bumps, but more controlled ride. The other option is Koni Special Actives, which are said to stiffen up the suspension, rather than let it wallow on corners or speed bumps, and make it softer for sharp bumps/holes. I have yet to see anyone install them on MK4 Octavia, however, there are some reviews for them for Superb mk3 and Oct mk3. Some find them nice, others think they are not consistent or not sporty enough. You having the 4x4 setup are blessed with multi link suspension, so I'd be more inclined to upgrade suspension rather than sell and move to another model. I, as yourself, am not necessarily willing to sacrifice rise height for improved suspension performance. If one is set on lowering it, then there are lots of coilover options that I'm sure can improve the ride without necessarily worsening the comfort. Let us know if you do any suspension work!

It really sounds like aircon flap/actuator. If I had to guess, maybe the recirculation or heat exchanger temperature flap. There is a setting in the AC for automatic internal air circulation activation. Try disabling it and see if it changes anything.

Its not one of them. Usually, settings that are reset each startup are those that have to do with some sort of compliance - either emissions or safety.

In the preFL, there's an option to turn park assist automatically when coming near objects at slow speed. This is turned on by default. I don't know the exact menu in the FL version, as the infotainment system is not the same, however I think there must be an option to disable it coming on automatically.

I haven't had anyone in the rear complain about sharpness of bumps, to be honest. And I've ridden in the back myself, I can say it seems comfortable. What tires and pressures are you running? PS - there are two types of subframe bushings for the rear. Do you maybe have a list of PR codes for your car? I've sent you a PM!

Do you have any pics of them? The metal is rubber coated to prevent scratches, albeit it's not very thick.

How do you describe the comfort after fitting the B6? Would you say they're harsher over rough road than stock? I find the suspension floating bothering me mostly at lower speeds, and comfortable at highway speeds. I am looking at doing it myself - however, without changing the springs as I don't want to change the ride height. I've sent you a PM!

Nope, the Koni Finder has the lower powered versions of Octavia as well, and they list the rear shocks 828245-1326 for Twist Beam Axle.

That's true in a conventional sense. However, the special actives have more complex valving, allowing them to soak up potholes better, whilst also resisting slower frequency movement, like cornering sway, speed bumps and slow undulations. And, in that sense, more comfortable might also mean less wallowy feel at slower speeds, which is something that I think the standard suspension is portraying.

I'm interested if anyone installed Koni SA on the Octavia MK4. It seems like a sportier shock, which should also offer comfier ride over sharper bumps.

This means I'd need to visit dealer or other ODIS technician to ask for SwAP activation? Also is there a real noticeable difference using the mode selection?

Is there an option to code the mode select option to pre-FL Octavia MK4 with 1.5 TSI engine? There isn't a button, obviously, since the equipment wasn't selected at purchase. However, AFAIK, you can select and customize the driving mode through the infotainment as well. Also, does the mode selection actually bring any noticeable effect on the engine responsiveness and steering feel? Thanks!

I'd say the quoted symptom points me to the direction that the sensor ring was damaged. I'd check the sensor ring. If it's damaged, I'd stick the old ABS sensor back and replace the hub. If the ring is fine, then the problem is obviously somewhere else.

You have probably misdiagnosed the issue. The Octavia mk4 has know issue with ABS sensor rings disintegrating on the rear wheel hubs. So check the integrity of the ABS ring.

There are a few people on this forum that have cleaned the touch sensitive slider and power button, rectifying the issue without changing the whole screen.

I have no experience in that and don't think it can be done.

Check for a protective film, but be aware not to scratch the real screen, as it might seem like there's a protective film but there isn't. The original screen is matte. If unsure, send close-up images of the screen and its borders. Edit: In my view, volume control and power-on/off issues are of different source, since those controls both live on under the screen on a separate bezel, not on it.

Your problem sounds like hardware related issue with the touchscreen, probably related to humidity. Maybe it registers a ghost input in the "menu" area? Try cleaning it more thoroughly, using microfiber cloth and screen cleaner, especially around the edges.

I've updated it yesterday to 1989 through OTA. Hadn't had any issues with it as of yet. H61, early 2024 build.

Do you have experience with a pre-facelift one? If not, I guess the systems are not that different between the versions. Info for pre-facelift MK4. Yes, AEB works on manuals. It does stop the car completely except if you intervene - input throttle, or the danger disappears. Stalling the engine is the last thing to worry about in those circumstances I think. I have had only one erroneous activation of the AEB in 2 years owning and I didn't let the car stop fully. Otherwise, the system is pretty forgiving and doesn't alert you too often. I've had experience with Suzuki, Hyundai and VW & Skoda AEB cars. The VW & Skoda are the least panicky and alert you later than the others. I hope this helps!

The suspension is indeed quite soft from factory, so maybe look at upgrade paths, like Bilstein B6.

You should ask the dealer to look into it. It happened to my pre-FL car built in early 2024. The dealer did OCU and infotainment updates and it never happened again.
