Hi all, I have recently purchased a 2020 Octavia, 1.5tsi. 28k Milage (manual). Car is now out of manufacturer warranty, but I've purchased second-hand from an independent garage so my issues all go via them with my consumer rights in mind. The obvious issue is with 4th gear, is doesn't always find it. It will land somewhere between 4th and Neutral (it seems) and then the gear stick will judder. This isn't every change, maybe 1 in 20. I haven't fully sussed any particular patterns. Ive very recently had the car back from the garage, who have supposedly fixed the syncros involved. It's deffo smoother and it's clear they've lubricated things but finding 4th gear isnt guaranteed still and the issue occurred on my short commute to work this morning. Its clear this happens more often when the car has warmed up. Can anyone help? Is a new transmission required or should I suggest the linkages are also looked into?
