Thanks I have tried that, not sure if it’s re calibrated anything. I think I will clear the fault codes and see what faults if any come back.

Thanks for the info, I had my windscreen replaced a few days ago and I know they took the wipers and scuttle off but the date on the codes are last year so wouldn’t think Autoglass has broken anything.

Hi everyone, just buying some bits for a service but struggling with regards to correct fuel filter. It’s a 2013 1.6 tdi and when putting my reg in when searching for the filter 2 options show, one with water sensor and one without? How can I tell without first taking the old filter out? Many thanks.

Did you do it via OBD or by foot fully on accelerator ignition on wait 30 seconds, ignition off whilst accelerator still fully pressed wait a bit then keys out etc. thanks.

Hi everyone, I have the Octavia Mk3 with a 7 speed dry DSG, I have seen some YouTube clips that show resetting the DSG so it learns my pattern of driving. Is that something I should do with a used car? Thanks.

It’s probably a poor design with so many people having the same issue and across the VWA group. I have just ordered a replacement from AliExpress which has the emergency release cord that you feed through into the boot. Be interesting to see if that’s any good. Will update in like 2 weeks.

Thanks for the reply, it does indeed rotate as you manually push it in. When I keep the flap open and manually push the stem in you can see it has rotated, then if I lock the car I hear a loud buzz but can’t see anything happen. If I then open the stem manually and push the flap closed and lock and unlock the car the flap gets stuck again.So must be the actuator knackered.

Here is an update on my issue. I gave it a good wack whilst unlocking the car and it popped open, perfect. So I cleaned the stem of the actuator and it presses in and rotates really easily now, strangely though when I close flap and lock the car the flap can still be opened? How should it lock, is there like a shoot bolt somewhere?

Thanks everyone, I have now realised how to search the forum! I see lots of info on here so will try some of the tips. Just hope it opens, then try some alteration and cleaning to help stop it happening. I may even cut a bit of the flap and just lose the locking feature. Just wondering how does the flap stay closed when the car is unlocked?

Help required please, the fuel cap doesn’t open when I push it in a bit? The car is unlocked, does anyone know of a fix without damaging anything. Thanks

I am a new owner and first ever Škoda Octavia 2013 so think it’s a mk3. I am finding it confusing regarding map updates and any other updates that I may need or worth doing like firmware etc. I am not even sure exactly what unit it is. The maps are well out of date, so I removed the official Škoda sd card and downloaded the maps and put onto the card. It has updated the maps but the map version didn’t change but it has definitly updated. Should I update firmware and if so any info would be great. Also is there a way of updating all radio logo’s in one go, it’s seems silly having to do them individually. I have attached some pics. Many thanks for any info.
