Cambelt Confusion 1.6 dti Mk. 111
Is it possible to put this issue to bed? So many opinions it's confusing. I can only speak on behalf of the Octavia Mk. 111 1.6 diesel, and two written statements from 1. A Skoda main dealer. 2. Skoda customer services, as follows; 1. Main dealer states in their opinion belt should be changed at around 60k miles or 5 years, but recognized Skoda's latest edict as below, and seemingly did not agree with it. 2. Skoda customer services state that the belt change is 140k full stop no time limit. Only one can be right, and I assume it should be the manufacturer as they carry the can for their reputation, [but probably not the cost of premature belt failure] So what does it take for us all to sing with one voice?

Mk. 111 1.6 Automatic Regen Query.
My 2016 Mk. 111 regens ok with normal revs increase and fans running but the auto box seems to go into sports mode on it's own and changes gear at much higher revs, [I normally drive in eco]. When regen is complete the box reverts back to eco. Is this normal or is their a fault?

Hello,I am a mature newbie, just bought an Octavia Estate 1.6tdi Auto, and hope to enjoy others opinions, general chat, etc.
I have bought the car today and drove it home some 20 miles and found it excellent , autobox was superb, but on going through the old invoices there was a main dealer one that related to.multiple clutches replaced at 30,000 miles in 2019. As it has now done102,000 and the autobox is so good I presume no problems. I will spend a day trying to understand the owners manual, so many gizmo's and I am rather aged. Other bonus apart from £20 annual road tax is a £250 reduction in my insurance premium [my previous car was a Ford Focus 1.0 L Ecoboost]

Just checked and it was made in September 2015 and stated as Euro 6, ULEZ compliant, and Road Tax £20.00, which I think is a bonus. Road wheels are 18", was this standard? Thank you so much for all your info. Nice to be part of this forum.

Thanks, Water pump replaced, and serviced annually brake fluid and pollen filter changed once, all mot's are passes with some advisories for minor things which were done. I have decided to go with it as a better history than the younger one. Can't understand why th road tax is £30 while the identical 2017 model is £190 but not complaining.

Having read some of the comments I am wondering if I should cancel my purchase as whilst the car is one owner, with full service history including a very recent new cambelt it has covered 102,000 miles. No record of DPF replaced and this is not covered in the 6 month warranty. I would lose my £300 deposit, but a new DPF I undrstand is very expensive. For a further £2000 I could buy a 2 year newer {2017] model with 80k miles,. Bought this as a friend has the same car with 126,000 miles and he has never had any prolems at all,, its ready for collection in 7 days so would love any comments to help me decide.
