Software failure not so Superb
Had the Cupra Leon V2 Estate Dsg 1.5 for four weeks now and I love it. The 1.5 engine seems perfectly matched and with the adaptive dampeners the drive is lovely. The infotainment works well and it has the same 12.9” screen the Superb had.

No, a different dealer. I wouldn’t go near the Škoda dealer I got my Superb from. Distinctly unhelpful and tried to deflect me away when rejecting the car. I do also like the look of the Cupra Leon estate and having had a Leon estate a few years back know it will suit size wise.

Thanks. It’s still got one of the bigger boots which is what we need and reviews suggest it’s got quite a sporty drive even with the same 1.5 engine. To be fair we would originally have gone for an Octavia but the Superb was a cheaper deal at the time. They are also doing two services for £99 and with the five year warranty we will hopefully have trouble free motoring for five years. The deal I’ve got takes the full price from £39750 to £29900 so a chunky discount.

Yes it comes in £350 under the £40k at list

Problem is I got a very good price on my Superb and the Passat tops the £40k luxury car tax band. I've got a 25% discount lined up on a Cupra Leon Estate for under £30k and five years warranty so will probably bite the bullet on that. I've had a Seat Leon before and that was fine.

I rejected the car formally on 12th March but the dealer didn’t submit the rejection paperwork until 18th. They collected the car yesterday (26th) and the money hit my account today. I did have the executive office progressing things. This was after emailing the MD [email protected] who passed it to the Executive Office.

So my rejection of my car is now complete. The dealer (Hayselden Doncaster) were not great in dealing with this and tried batting me away to Škoda Customer Service. My contact in the Executive Office at Škoda helped push them along and the car was collected yesterday. If anyone sees a silver SE Tech for sale by that dealer then beware. Now to find an alternative vehicle.

Your welcome. Best of luck. If the history shows the alert faults or they refuse to show you the history then you’ll have a reason to get your deposit back.

Additionally they have access to the history of the car and you could ask to see it to view any attempts they have had to repair the vehicle. If they want the sale they should show you.

Maybe ask the dealer if they sold the vehicle from New (as if it's rejected it goes back to the dealer) and if it is a rejected vehicle. Get it in an email. They would be in breach of contact if they lie.

I paid £28k for my SE Tec estate in Sep.

Hi. My SE Tech was purchased new in Sep 24 and has the issues with all the alert warnings. Four attempts to rectify to no avail with no further solution offered by Škoda. It’s hard to say but it’s likely your car is a rejected vehicle given the age and mileage. Unfortunately the errors are not consistent so if you test drove it you might not see them. The only real way to know is it if is hooked up to a computer to read any error messages and see the history. I’m not sure what the discount is on yours versus new but have you checked sites like drivethedeal as they are offering up to £8000 off a brand new model. At least that would be a 25 model and there is some belief the errors might be fixed on this one.

I had three attempts by my local Škoda garage to fix it then had to give the retailing dealer 35 miles away a chance. They had it three weeks and it faulted 48 hours after they gave it back. They have sent in the rejection form to Škoda but just a waiting game.

I notified my dealer (Hayselden Doncaster) that I want to reject the vehicle a week ago. Sales Manager response “ what car do you want to replace it with”. I advised I need a large estate and don’t want to risk another Superb. His response “ you have to reject it through Škoda Customer service” which I knew was incorrect. I got back in touch with the Executive Office at Škoda who confirmed it was for the dealer to send the rejection to Škoda to process and today confirmed the dealer had done that. I wonder if anyone who has rejected a car could advise how long this process takes? I’m not driving the car currently (based on online advice about rejecting a car) so am anxious to sort out a replacement.

So another update. My car had been into my local dealer since October. Three attempts at resolving the assist errors. I then had to arrange for it to go into the retailing dealer 35 miles away to give them an opportunity to try and resolve the issue before rejecting the car. They had it just short of three weeks. The advice they had from Skoda was to take apart each assist component and reinstall and recalibrate. Had the car back two days and all the errors are back. Now going to have to reject the car.

Can’t access privacy settings to add profile
Thanks. If so, would this require it to go back?

Can’t access privacy settings to add profile
Got my superb back after three weeks at the dealers to resolve the multiple sensor issues I’ve been experiencing. Part way through them having the car I could no longer see the vehicle data in the app. On getting the car back it is in guest user mode. I’ve tried to reregister as the main user but keep hitting a brick wall as it says I need to change privacy settings from maximum to complete the task however if I click that option jn the Users section it just hangs forever and nothing loads. So I’m in a loop of not being able to get out of guest mode. I tried to reset the system from the menu, it goes through the process then says it can’t reset however most functions seem to have gone back to default but still no change to accessing the privacy settings. I’ve also rebooted by pressing the power button for ten seconds but that doesn’t work either so I’m a bit stuck.

The “reset” apparently is removing a fuse, waiting and reinserting it. My dealer called it a temporary fix.

Yes when I have the assist warnings I also lose ACC etc which is annoying as it’s always at a time I could do with it.

Here's the info I've been relying on. As your within 30 days your rejection should be much easier. I agree it's hard to find something similar. https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/rejecting-a-car/#2-short-term-right-to-reject-–-the-first-30-days

So my local dealer has tried three times to fix the errors. I contacted the MD and the Exec office have been liaising with me. To reject the car within 6 months (UK) the original retailing dealer has to be given a chance to fix it. So mine has been with the original dealer for a week now. They can see the error logs and have been liaising with Skoda but are just giving the car a drive each say to see the errors for them selves. I'm waiting for a call today. I have two weeks to reject within the 6 months but I feel as though they are going to say that as they can't replicate the errors I can't reject it.

yes that’s the update for the assist errors many of us have encountered. Mine has had the update done twice now but the error messages, whilst reduced, still keep occurring.

Update. After the third visit to the dealer my car software was updated again as they said it hasn’t taken. They also recalibrated whatever that means. I’m still getting errors most days. They clear with a restart but I feel I’ve lost confidence. I’m four months in from ownership with the 6 month deadline looming for rejection. I contacted the supplying dealer some distance away to make them aware of the issue and put them on notice that I may be rejecting the vehicle. They said I would have to give them one opportunity to fix it (which is a bit pointless as they would only follow the same Skoda technical advice). I also contacted head office and had a call from the executive office. He was very good, said he would call me two weeks after the last service visit to see how things were. I’d mentioned about possible rejection and that the supplying dealer said they would have to be given an opportunity to fix it. He indicated that wouldn’t be necessary. So he’s due to call in the next two days and I’ll have to make my mind up.

Mine was similar after the update with mainly short journeys but the two occasions when all the errors have occurred and adaptive cruise control has gone have been on longer journeys making where they are missed the most.

Car been in dealership for 2 days. They’ve been told by Škoda Technical to recalibrate the assist systems. I’ve got zero confidence this will resolve anything as I would imagine they were recalibrated when they put the software update on in Dec.
