  1. Do you have mirror knob switch to select left or right mirror or in neutral or heating position?
  2. It was like that in MIB3 infotainemnt in all VW/Skoda/Seat models that used it like Octavia4. It is not related to Carplay or Android Auto. Incoming call could be answered by clicking OK button on the steering wheel but there was no option to hang up with same or any other button. Ending a call was only possible by touch button on the infotainment screen. I havent tried the new infotainment in Superb4 but if it works like in previous cars then this was by design for some reason which is WTF really.
  3. The coil in Skoda could be deeper in the housing so smartphone+case and the higher distance between car coil and phone coil and you have unstable user experience while charging.
  4. Yes, this is normal.
  5. That was the issues for use since we always used cars from VAG as company cars, and last year we tried to switch but really there was nothing much better on the market for our needs. We drive only VW cars, mostly Passats and we are used to bugs with software and we don't even report them to VW service. Unless it's a critical fault like not working radar with ACC or parking sensor. Cars are leased and always returned to VW after 3 year's so we don't really care and having a car stuck in service for 1-2 months is a total waste of time.
  6. If anybody expects 100% bug free car in terms of electronics and infotainment from VAG then I really suggest to get back money and choose different cars. Even if you will have a "good" car there will always be some a small thing once or couple of times a year like blind spot LED blinking for no reason while driving empty road, SOS unavailable, infotainment hang, wireless AA or Carplay issue, travel or radar bug notification even with clean sensors and camera etc.
  7. Since introduction of Golf8 and Octavia 4 and the new infotainment, VAG has a really buggy system and nothing can be done. Facelift of G8, O4, release of new Passat B9 and Superb 4 introduced another newer infotainment system and it seems less buggy but also not finished in 100%. VW service told me that the more electronic features you order with the car (assistants, 360 camera etc.) the higher the chance you will encounter errors. Also, cars manufactured before autumn/winter are more prone to issues and even new updates do not always work as intended. Later manufactured cars should be statistically more stable but still not perfect. Unfortunately system in VAG in last year's is at most an average quality in all of their brands beside Audi, not counting the new infotainment in new A5, Q6 etc. I think it could be reasonably described as a lottery, what you will get from VAG these days.
  8. VAG had and still has one of the most grown up VCs in the market. Clean, configurable and also slightly differently skinned for each of the brand in the group. Unfortunately the design of the VC screen, small hood over it and stuff around seem patch worked 5min before unveiling the car. As I remember correctly from czech interview with the lead designer of S4 or someone of similar position, said to the reporter that they intended for a different look but it did not happen before launch so we will probably receive intended look with the facelift after couple of years. @Spr0ut Seems for UK it was included in optional winter package except L&K. https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/71165c49-62c5-4f74-b29a-be6ad40d7373
  9. This is noticeable especially with Kodiaq. If one forgets to order better light trim then he will receive a black painted bar instead a light bar and it looks really ugly, especially on non black or white car paint.
  10. I personally always drove VW with TSI engines and we're happy with it. Tried Passat B8 biturbo TDI but @170-180km/h the consumption is high anyway. Latest 2.0 TDI 193hp can require oil top up every couple of K kilometers, sound not great, still vibrate so I ordered Superb with 2.0 TSI 204hp FWD Sportline. Performance is enough for my highway needs, smooth engine with decent dynamics, consumption is lower overall than the 265hp TSI and generally I am happy with this engine. Should have the car ready at the beginning of June.
  11. Assistants themselves are not necessary, that's why you can turn them off. EU decided that it would be safer in general statistics to require them on with every engine start. Insurance companies, if that would be real, would approve and deny claims based on your performance regarding the various road laws. If you overtake on single/double solid line they you break the law intentionally anyway and it doesn't matter if you have older car or new one with assistant turned off. The various assistants in the car are still just supporting systems and manufacturers I form you in the warranty or license that it's your responsibility to drive, even when assistant doesn't work as intended.
  12. If possible, go to dealer and as a customer tryout a Superb with DCC (try eco/normal/sport drive mode setting) as it has also progressive steering and compare if possible to barebones model and to yours. This could result in some feedback regarding the new feel.
  13. It's only standard VW DSG setting that changes rev limits for auto gear changes. In default D mode gearbox has prefers low revolutions for gear changes and also tried to keep low RPMs and highest gear which is not that great for the engine but great for emissions when proofing the car with EU regulators.
  14. All traffic signs, speed limits, driver fatigue or lane assist etc. system are mandatory by EU and need to be always enabled why starting the car. No option to skip that. The issue is that there is no option in VAG like in other brands that you can toggle off multiple assistants by holding a particular steering or lever button or touch one option in infotainment.
  15. Correct, driving modes are only enabled when equipped with DCC as it also includes progressive steering which is affected by drive mode. Gearbox D and Sport mode is something different and not related to Driving Mode enabled in infotainment.
  16. There is no problem with Skoda, especially if the port is only 15W. Problem is with Chinese dashcam which cannot use proper charging specs for USB c connections. I would avoid any brand that has issues with charging from car ports because it doesn't make sense and it is just bad and low quality design of power delivery for the device. Any 3A or higher rated cable should work fine. You could use USB4 120W Thunderbolt USB C spec'ed cable for the dashcam and it would work ok if the device is designed properly.
