upgrading the firmware will not unlock the carplay AFAIK. you need a code or to use MIB2 standard toolbox for that.

So recently I changed my head unit by 5E0919605N But when I press the APP button, it tries to open the satnav. So I have to go to menu and then Android Auto if I want to use it. I have MIB2 standard toolbox installed and with my previous head unit I remaped TRAFFIC -> APP (not sure if this could have an impact here, but worth mentioning) My firmware is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0369T Is there a way to make the APP open Androind Auto? I could not find any remap option from NAV->APP in MIB2 standard toolbox I've read somewhere that I'd need to be in the 4XX firmware version, is that so? And if so, does anyone have some instructions on how to do it? Hello, I just got an 2016 octavia estate with variable boot floor and I'm trying to figure out what kind of liner I could use. I was leaning for one without the side flaps that I could use for both raised and lowered height. And flexible enough that I could reach the lower section when raised. What are your thoughts? Do you use a liner with vbf at all? How do you use it with different height? Pics and links very welcome :) Thanks!

hello @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits would it be possible to fit it in a 2016 mk3 octavia? It does have the radar in front and has Front Assist (even though it looks small-ish compared to others I've seen). And what would be the cost of doing this, please? Thank you!

thanks a lot @pab567 ! I used MIB STD2 TOOLBOX and managed to get it to work, (although it takes ages to start, I even thought it was not working). I managed to enable the GEM using VEEPEAK (every where I read said it was not possible, but it worked !!)

Hello @pab567 Please let me know if this is not the right thread. I have 5Q0035874B My vin TMBKG7NE6H0052942 What are my options about Activating smart link and using android auto? Upgrading the whole infotainment? Advantages of just upgrading the sw? What do you think about those android replacements? I guess I lose many of the car integrated functionalities?
