  1. I think not, those are the ones that hold the tray under the engine that I took off for oil change
  2. After changing oil and getting very close, I could see some rust and shedding metal. How bad is this and what can I do?
  3. Ok, I've got it. I've missed it because it was called "service" and I was looking for "oil" Set it back to "bad oil / fixed" and increased the mileage for next service Now it shows 9400 / 365 I'm using android "Car Scanner" and Veepeak OBD2 Scanner, in case this helps anyone in the future
  4. Yeah, I have only two options, good / flexible 18700 and bad / fixed 47 00
  5. Thank you all, have just done oil change and all filters as well (oil, air, fuel, pollen) Have also done the mini flushes, very nice tip, thank you @nta16 Now one thing I don't get is after resetting the service, it shows next due in 4700 / 365 days I connected to the obd2 and could change the"quality of oil" from bad to good, but then the interval jumps to 18000 Any idea how to set it to 9400??
  6. This is the oil https://amzn.eu/d/0c8lTouS
  7. BTW, I bought this oil this time around: VW Genuine Quantum Longlife 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil 5 Litres
  8. So I guess it was set for fixed because the alert came up and I thought: no, that's too soon and reset it again I'm fine doing fixed from now on, assuming that can only do good for keeping my engine healthy
  9. took me 11 months, 80% of that on motorways or national roads what does it mean to be in a flexible/fixed regime? I've read this elsewhere but how do I know which regime I'm in?
  10. So, with my previous car I never did more than 10,000 miles per year and would always change oils and filter once a year. Now with my 1.6TDI, I've suddenly realised I've clocked already 15,000 without changing oil or filter. I've already ordered them and will be doing the change asap. How worried should I be? 1.6 TDI, 120,000 miles, oil I used before was Shell Helix Ultra ECT Multi 5W-30 Fully Synthetic, car is not showing any thing wrong that I can feel/see
  11. thanks for the advice. I added my car to the "garage" in skoda-parts.com and it confirms the correct disc size is 276 x 24 I was looking for a Pagid brake, but checked other brands in auto-doc as you said and indeed they are in the expected price range. Part numbers are 5Q0 615 301 E and 5Q0 615 301 A. So I guess as long as I match this with the ebay or whatever cheaper seller I'd be good ?
  12. Hi, so I've been doing my research to try to find the right parts to replace my front brake discs and pads Car is a 2016 1.6 TDI 5E5444 CXXB I've tried https://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars but it is not working anymore it seems. I've checked my boot and there is only the code for my rear brakes (1KD) Then I paid for this ebay seller to get me the codes, and finally it is 1ZF: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226517872578 So, looking at other posts, specially this one: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/523409-octavia-10tsi-2017-disc-size/ And checking pics of my caliper as well, I believe I have the 276 x 24 disc I checked ECP, Halfords, Autodocs for Pagid and they seem quite expensive, around 100£ per disc :( And then I found these ones in Ebay, which seems to be the right fit, but I am just suspicious because they seem way cheaper than others. What am I missing here? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/297097800580 and https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405418704508 Can anyone confirm these would fit my car? Thanks!
  13. Did you fixed it or just didn't happen again?
  14. I have not find a solution yet. Thank you very much for the added info!
  15. @Pindadio same thing happened to me, driving at 30C outside, suddenly the air dropped to a trickle. I went manual and move the blower to max, temp to LO, recirculate, tried changing flaps direction to front, feet, windshield. Nothing would make a difference. I could still hear the blower super going like crazy, but almos no air coming out, as if all flaps were closed. I was (am) just so puzzled.
  16. You need a way to access the infotainment and change a flag that allows you to enter the GEM. So AFAIK, no. You need to access the car's OBD. I did it with veepeak obd2 dongle and carscanner app on android. That's about 30 quid on amazon and you'll be able to read other faults if it happens to your car and also mod some functionalities. Obd11 is probably more user friendly but also more expensive.
  17. From what I know you can't upgrade from 2xx to 3xx
  18. Do you have smart link activated? Did you do any remapping of the headunit buttons before?
  19. Not a solution, but as a work around, maybe could you disable all the displays and leave only speed left?
  20. If you have the skills to get to the pads and take them out, just get a new set of good quality ones. They are not crazy expensive and will give you peace of mind
  21. Have this in my car. I thought I could activate TSR but no luck. What is it used for?
  22. Managed to fix it! When I still had the previous headunit, I've used mib2 std toolbox to remap the existing TRAFFIC > APP. Then I realised that on the new headunit the APP was actually opening TRAFFIC, I thought my previous remap could have had simply swapped them. So I reverted the remap and now APP is working as expected. And I'm happy.
  23. Yeah, I'm tempted to do it but does it really worth the risk? I'm not convinced. But would that upgrade actually sort the App button function?
