  1. I pick up our 85 Edition on Wednesday 🤞it’s felt like a very long three months…
  2. I think Škoda UK are currently partnering with Ohme (this may be part of a deal with also taking a new dual fuel contract with OVO, check with dealer)? Note that the Ohme chargers require a cellular connection and the SIM cost is free for the first three years only. If you don’t have a good signal at home then you may want to look at WiFi or Ethernet connected devices…
  3. Thanks for the update. What is your setup now, is the schedule set in the car or charger?
  4. Get it back to the dealer.
  5. This was recommended by our dealer when we ordered our Elroq. Works especially well in snow ⛄️ £19.17 at the end of April from official Skoda parts at dealership.
  6. Yeah there seems to be a bit of a knack to getting those covers off. I have seen a few YouTube videos and I’ll see how I get on when the car arrives… How did easy did you find removing the A pillar covers or didn’t you bother? I would want the cable install to not affect the air bags. I suppose similarly with the B pillar air bags and the seat belt covers?
  7. Thanks for replying, I gather the VAG grommets are tough to remove and break easily. I will be ordering a DC02 this afternoon 👍
  8. You don’t need them, there’s a setting on the infotainment screen:
  9. Have you tried a different phone? I have read that some cameras don’t read the QR code well? If a phone with multiple lenses have you tried using the different ones to see if that makes a difference? Try and reduce reflections and see if you can keep the camera parallel to the infotainment screen. It could be that there is moire pattern effect that causes the code not to be read correctly?
  10. That’s a great tip! I have a two camera setup waiting ready for when the new Elroq arrives and getting through the tailgate on any car is always a PIA… Do you get any vibrations with the rear camera mounted this way?
  11. I believe the boot length with seats folded is 1700mm which is around 5’6””. Be aware that the rear seats don’t fold completely flat so you would also have to come up with a way to get a flat surface (especially so without the dual floor option)…
  12. Yes @Bowdie IOG is six hours. One extra advantage to intelligent is if you ask for a full charge early enough in the day they will generally either schedule extra slots in the morning when energy is plentiful or extend the charge past the 05:30 cut off (providing the ready by time allows). They will try their best to give you the charge you requested but obviously not guaranteed, this is why they ask you to plug your car in as much as possible so they can help balance the grid.
  13. If your car is not supported (such as the Elroq, there are others) you have to have a compatible charger (currently Zappi, Ohme, Hypervolt v3 (support for v2 is coming soon), Indra smart pro and Indra smart lux) the charger is then linked as the device in IOG. All the scheduling is then done via the charger and not the car. Basically Octopus takes control of your charger. Because the IOG schedules are broken into several slots, rather than one big charge, the charger will complete a slot and turn off the charge the car will then sleep, then the charger will wake the car again to start the next and repeat etc. It is this process that seems to cause issues with the Elroq and the car does not wake and you end up short of charge. There seems to be various reasons including the 12v battery protection. Škoda have also blocked Octopus from accessing their servers due to the amount of traffic. IOG openly state that it’s a beta and will not work for everyone or all the time. When you sign up there should be a test charge which usually works and then you ask for a charge and hopefully things work correctly for you. If not that’s when you can turn off smart charging and then use the car or charger schedule to align with the off peak rates. You will of course miss out on the cheaper slots that could become available outside the off peak hours. You will need to contact Octopus for help and if it still fails inform them that you will schedule charges via the car until fixed. This is within the t&c of IOG providing you charge or attempt to charge the registered devices at least once a month. If all else fails they can revert you to the standard go tariff. Hopefully Octopus and the charger manufacturers can find a way to overcome the issues and/or support the Elroq software. The Enyaq 85 has been around for 18 months and is still not supported. It will be a great tool when it becomes stable. The more people who sign up and send feedback to Octopus and the charger companies the better the process will be refined. Clearly this can be a frustrating experience particularly if you need your vehicle charged in the morning but find the schedule failed. If you google around there doesn’t seem to be a single solution to this hence my comments and the workarounds currently being used by many. The ‘fingers crossed’ only really applies to whether or not IOG works for you. Making your charger dumb and scheduling through the car will work (with IOG off). Using Octopus Go will work. Schedule from your charger not connected to IOG will work. It doesn’t really matter to Octopus if your car is not supported provided your charger is. If you select a car that is not connected when tested and then fails you will have little support. They don’t have a direct connection to your vehicle or know its state of charge etc. This is how households with more than one ev charge multiple cars. TLDR it works for many and could work for you and is innovative and cheap. If it doesn’t or you don’t want the risk plump for the standard go tariff or one from the other suppliers and use until the car is supported and IOG stable. From my own research it seems the Zappi and Ohme models seem to have the least amount of problems but even these have people reporting issues. Disappointing I know but it’s very new technology and getting multiple third party systems all talking to each other is the stumbling block with one blaming the other. Škoda have not been helpful when challenged citing not their problem as no third party is currently supported. Hope this helps? From Octopus: 2.4.1 Intelligent Octopus Go2.4.1.1 Intelligent Octopus Go is available as both a Variable Rate Tariff and a Fixed Rate Tariff, with your daily standing charge, a quoted day rate per kWh and a quoted night rate (for six hours, from 23:30 to 05:30 - the “off-peak hours”). 2.4.1.2 Intelligent Octopus Go is compatible with our following export tariffs: “Octopus Outgoing Smart Export Guarantee”, “Outgoing Octopus” and “Agile Outgoing Octopus”. 2.4.1.3 The Intelligent Octopus Go tariff is for customers with a battery electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid vehicle that charges primarily at the home that we supply. Any electricity used by the vehicle according to the Intelligent Octopus Go schedule plus any other electricity used in your home during off-peak hours will be charged at the night rate. 2.4.1.4 If we schedule your electric vehicle to charge outside of the off-peak hours, we will apply the night rate for your EV charging and any underlying household usage will be charged in the relevant half hour billing periods. 2.4.1.5 To be eligible for this tariff, you agree to download the Octopus Energy app and register your Low Carbon Technology on the app within 7 days of signing up for the tariff. Failure to register your device within this period will result in your account being moved to the Octopus Go tariff. 2.4.1.6 It is an ongoing requirement to have at least one Low Carbon Technology registered in the app. If at any time you do not have an active authorisation for integration with a supported vehicle or charge point and you have not had such active authorisation for a period of more than 30 days, or there is a material change to your charging set up that is not compatible with IO Go (for example you no longer have the car or charger you used to sign up to Intelligent Octopus Go), you will no longer be eligible for this tariff and we will switch you to one of our fairly priced standard tariffs and you will be billed according to your usage under that tariff. 2.4.1.7 You must record your operating preferences in the Octopus Energy app, for example what time you need your electric vehicle ready in the morning and how much energy you would like to add to your vehicle. We'll take your operating preferences into account first and optimise your energy use around that. If it's not possible to charge your car by the time you specify (for example, because the connector capacity is not sufficient for a full charge or because your preferences are updated on too short notice for a full charge) we'll notify you and try to charge as much as possible in the time available. 2.4.1.8 Intelligent Octopus Go is subject to a fair use policy with a maximum of six hours of managed charging per 24 hours. Should your charging schedule request more than six hours per 24 hours, we reserve the right to charge any incremental usage above six hours at the day rate. 2.4.1.9 By signing up to the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, you agree to: a) Give us permission to integrate and connect with your Low Carbon Technology using your home wifi, in-built sim card, or other method as agreed between us. b) Give us permission to influence the times of operation of your Low Carbon Technology. We will always strive to operate these assets in line with the preferences you have specified in our app, but this service cannot be guaranteed. c) Us collecting data about your Low Carbon Technology, including but not limited to model, power consumption, operating preferences, any actions you take to operate these assets and how these assets perform. We will use this information to optimise your asset operations, send operating instructions to your Low Carbon Technology, and generate bills. d) Give us exclusive rights to enter contracts for the provision of Demand Response Services with your Low Carbon Technology while you remain on this tariff. By agreeing to these T&Cs terms you authorise Octopus to enter Demand Response Services contracts with your Low Carbon Technology and share relevant data with the relevant Market Operator, including but not limited to your half-hourly consumption data, address and Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) where necessary. e) Give us the exclusive right to control your Low Carbon Technology to deliver on Demand Response Services when required by such service contracts. f) Not enter your Premises into any third party schemes that enter you into a Demand Response Service while you remain on this tariff. If we become aware that you have joined a third party scheme, we have the right to remove you from Intelligent Octopus Go. 2.4.1.10 We do not guarantee that this tariff will be compatible with your Low Carbon Technology or that your technology will operate in accordance with your preferences. We accept no liability for wear of your Low Carbon Technology, scheduling failure or other electric faults. Our liability to you is as set out in our General Terms and Conditions.
  14. Pretty much what Matthias Speicher says in his videos.
  15. Correct standard Octopus Go works fine. It’s the smart tariff that’s the problem. IOG is six hours off peak 23:30 to 05:30 but will schedule a charge outside of these times if you have asked for a large charge and/or there’s an excess of energy in the grid (all charged at the cheap rate). Some have found that IOG works for them but others not (not limited to vehicle manufacturers or charger brands). Some have more success with the Ohme chargers but even then there are some with issues. If it doesn’t for you then as long as you charge (or try to) once a month on IOG you can stay on that tariff you just turn off smart charging in the Octopus app and use the car scheduling or charger schedule to take advantage of the longer off peak hours and cheaper rates. IOG is currently a beta version and I’m sure it’ll work as intended at some point… I think it’s important for many users to try and get IOG (plus other smart tariff providers) to work because that will allow the energy providers to balance the load on the grid and could potentially mean lower ev charging rates. If you want the certainty of a charged car in the morning then maybe IOG at this time may not be for you?
  16. Some with a Sportline and Maxx pack have received two umbrellas ☔️ (without asking). Octopus Go will work with the Elroq or you could cheat IOG and turn off smart charging and make your charger dumb and charge from scheduling in the car until it becomes supported (hopefully soon as the ID VWs are supported and should be similar software?).
  17. Excellent! Now the long wait begins (I gather the 85s currently have a longer lead time than 60s). I would add mud flaps and rubber mats but they’re only a personal preference. I was advised to add the charge port cover for bad weather charging at home particularly if you charge in an exposed location or experience snow. I assume you already have a home charger? Also be aware that the Elroq is not currently supported by Octopus for Intelligent Go smart tariff but standard Go is okay. On delivery make sure the umbrella and ice scraper and anything specific to optional packs are present as some have had these missing. And make sure they set you up on the infotainment system and MyŠkoda app before you leave the dealership. One thing that usually gets missed is check the tyre pressures as they are overinflated for build and transport but often are forgotten on the PDI…
  18. Still waiting for ours, how long did you wait for yours? What colour did you pick? Photo maybe 🤔
  19. @Mikeylorenzo I should add that the issues you are experiencing are not isolated to the Hypervolt charger. Looking around it applies to many brands including Ohme and Zappi etc. so swapping out the charger would not solve your problem unfortunately. The common denominator is IOG and Skoda… Sorry but hope the extra information provided above will help.
  20. Hi @Mikeylorenzo this is a shambles. Reading around some other forums it seems that the 85 versions are more prone to this. Not sure why as you would expect the software to be the same… If your IOG is integrated with the charger and not the car then not sure what you do next other than revert to the standard Go tariff. I suppose you need to put the ball back in Octopus court and see if they can solve the issues? It’s all very random with some people having no issues and others unable to charge at all or have intermittent issues. I do hope that I’m not going to face the same problems when my Elroq turns up… I am aware that Skoda implemented a system where the car stops external devices polling after three times in a certain period (even from the MySkoda app) to protect the 12v battery. This is then reset when the car is next plugged in. It’s possible that this is part of the reason? Do you have a battery protection warning as shown in this picture: Have you tried talking to your dealer to see if they have any advice? Some extra things to try (if you haven’t already): I assume you have good cellular signal strength where you are charging and you can communicate with the car via the MySkoda app when parked where it will be charging? Can you set AC target temperature from the app etc. I also assume you have location sharing turned on in the car and it’s not set to private (search in the online manual for ONLINE SERVICES - SETTING PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION). The only thing that I would do is pull the charger fuse 3 under the bonnet, wait a few minutes and then replace. This resets the cars onboard HV and charging software and hardware systems. The following is the most useful information I have found online in the Enyaq forums: I've been having charging problems ever since I collected my Enyaq 85 in March. I was informed by Skoda app that the car could only be interrogated 3 times in a set period and if asked to charge over multiple periods, as with Intelligent Octopus, the charging would stop and the car would show "not plugged in". I received the e-mail below from Octopus after they had informed me of problems relating to Skoda....... Hi Phil, To resolve the issues you have experienced with Intelligent Octopus Go, please follow the steps below: ⦿ Click the profile button in the top corner of the app’s dashboard. ⦿ Select ‘Intelligent Octopus Settings’. ⦿ Scroll down and tap ‘Disconnect Car’ and confirm. ⦿ This will disconnect your device and log you out of the app. Once this is complete, you can then go through the onboarding process again, instead integrating via your charger, which is detailed below. Do not worry, you will still be on the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff. ⦿ From the home screen of the app, tap 'Get started' under 'Intelligent Octopus for EVs'. ⦿ Select 'Charger'. ⦿ Select your EV make and model. ⦿ Read and accept the tariff terms and conditions. ⦿ Login to your EV portal. ⦿ Complete a short test charge. Octopus now set the schedule with my Zappi charger and not the car. The only setting on the car is the % i want to achieve (80%). I still see the Not plugged in message but this has not caused a problem as the last 5 or 6 charges have gone ahead as planned. I also noticed that the charging schedule were outside of the cheaper rate set by Octopus but I have checked my bills and Octopus have only charged for the lower rate even though charging started around 8.30 pm. Hope this info is of some use.
  21. Hi @Mikeylorenzo not sure where you are with your trouble shooting but was referred to this by the spark who installed our charger this morning: Octopus and Hypervolt
  22. Expected reply from Škoda I guess. At least they have confirmed your car is talking to their servers so can rule that out. Many people are using the same setup so it should work for you. Sadly I can’t help you further other than the tips above (I haven’t got my car yet although the Hypervolt charger is being installed tomorrow). If there’s no help from Hypervolt or Octopus then I would recommend deleting everything and starting over including the fuse 3 trick from the Enyaq forums. I believe it is crucial to keep the car disconnected whilst resetting everything and only connecting when asked during the setup of IOG? Have a google and there’s plenty of advice where people have got it to work. One extra question - did the test charge work when you signed up to IOG? Have a read of this and see if there’s anything else you can try IOG ENYAQ FORUM
  23. As a last resort you could check out the Enyaq forums for the fuse 3 trick to reset things. Seems to work for some…
  24. Also do you have Skoda Care Connect - Remote Access and is set up and active?
  25. Out of interest did the car actually charge even though you got the error messages?
