skoda superb mib3 multimedia black bar problem
Hi , I have had a few problems with the screen on my car but currently I am fully charging the battery ( as much as you can ) to see in my car if a low battery is the cause.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Hi , Well today I gave the old girl ( the car ) a good belt of electric energy after a few months of inactivity. Took my C Tec CT5 out of the box and wired up the old girl as per manufacturer instructions and let rip. After 6 hours the battery is fully charged ( On go ) light but try to let ot rest on the maintenance cycle. The battery on the car is the new kid on the block that everyone seems to be pushing , the reviews go from brilliant to rubbish , Kwik Fit push the brand. I will replace the battery before the winter but would really would like to install an AGM battery but don't appear to like abuse. Have the forum members ant thought on the subject ? Any thoughts would we greatly appreciated.

Hi , really sorry you are having issues with your car. I understand that the engines have quite a complex coolent filling procedure that require vacuum assistance during filling !

Help understanding the mk3.5 facelift
Hi , I have a 1.5 Tsi 2019 Superb and drove two examples. The first example was a 2020 model that was a nice car but was flat as a pan cake. The sales representative told me I was over fueling the engine ! It was clear to me that COVID had caused supply chain issues and manufacturers were selling cars not to advertised specification. I fully appreciate that I have only 150 bhp under my right foot but my last car was restricted to 155 mph and the fastest I ever drove the car was 130 kph on a motorway in Southern France. Do I miss 350 bhp and cannot remember the torque figures , not really but my wallet is much heaver than it was. Unfortunately I don't particularly like the S4 version ( exterior) of the Superb and many of those cars I think are above £40,000 threshold for VED. In all honesty I am totally underwhelmed but the Bi Hex headlights with illuminated strips self adjusting this and that but I acknowledge that it could be down to user error ! I am pleased with car although I have had the car 2 years only have driven 3000 miles in it. I love hatchback cars and I believe that it equal to the Passat Good luck on your choice of car.

Changing alloys Karoq 2024 se-L
Hi , I have a Skoda Superb that uses 18" alloy wheels. The ride was OK but it came with Pirelli tyres. Changed them to Michelin Primacy 4+ and played about with tyre pressures and settled at 37 psi ( Skoda recommend ) Ride very good quite and good around tyre.( Michelin Primacy 5 is a better tyre ) Had car serviced and garage told me pressure to high.Adjusted to what psi no idea but results not good. What I am trying to say is it worth adjusting tyre and playing about with driving setting. Just a thought.

1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
Hi , I gave a general enquiry to my Skoda dealer regarding changing the camshaft belt on my Skoda Tsi 1.5 Evo DADA coded engine. The reply was not necessary but my but my car is 6 years old and only covered 37000 miles. If I was in your position I would have the work carried out.

Coasting?
Hi , I had 1970 Saab 96 V4 model and that car had a free wheel system that I used once and that was enough for me. Not really sure if my 2019 Superb SEL Executive 1.5 Tsi DADA has such a system ! It has what I call the CV system when it runs on 2 cylinders ( seamless ) change. Stop / Start 2 cylinders mode and coasting model may improve mpg but at what cost to breaking system.

1.4 TSI (150bhp) Modifications / Improvements
Hi , As I have mentioned previously I tried two example of the Skoda Superb Tsi 1.5 , the 2020 car was the series 2 version and had lane assist that I felt a little uncomfortable with. This example was rather flat against the car I have.If I could have found the 2 litre version I would have all things being equal I most probably bought model. I have no regret of buying the smaller engine example as it drives well and not a single rattle. I don't drive round thinking I wish I had the bigger engine car.

It's super717 here : Could it be that all service intervals are based on new car fleet sales for the warranty period to please the bean counters. Sorry to any accountants reading this comment.

It's never been my intention to cause any controversy re posts I make. As others have said the information provided by Skoda UK may have a little of the mark re accuracy of content. Could I suggest we call it a draw for common sense and make be drawn a line in the sand.

Hi , regarding DQ200 service intervals I have a letter from Skoda UK dated January 2024 stating service intervals between 40,000 and 60,000 miles.I except that on Skoda in other publications stating no service is required in normal road conditions. In the same letter cambelt belt to be changed at 140,000 miles ! Clearly the oil company is correct in it's oil change regime for dq200. From my understanding gearbox oil and it's additives break down to high temperature over time.

Hi , Look clearly other members don't agree with my comment so please contact a moderator and have the thread removed. I have not been a member on the forum for very long and don't wish to rock the applecart. I thought the purpose of this forum for members to share information and educate each other , I have learnt so much about my car from considerate forum members. All I am trying to do is save members money and keep the car on the road longer. Authority : Gearbox service intervals : Skoda UK Authority : Oil service intervals : OEM oil manufacture. Interesting comment on Harry's Garage from an insurance company point of view regarding sealed for life gearbox oil service intervals. I acknowledge that forum members must be allowed to pass comment and I don't want to or wish to upset any members.

As I said previously stated contact a moderator and ask for the thread to be removed if you don't agree with my comment. It's a pity that the keyboard warriors always become aggressive when a forum member has a different point of view to their agenda. It's up to forum members to read my comments and take action as they feel appropriate.

Hi , My 2019 Skoda Superb has the dq200 gearbox with the sealed for life oil regime.I have received a written reply from an oil company re service intervals. They state it's a sealed for life unit but suggest that the oil could / should be changed between 40,000 / 100,000 thousand mile. However , they state that other companies that use the dq200 gearbox recommend that the oil is inspected ever 20,000 miles ! Not sure if non VAG companies use that gearbox ( dq200 ) but by implementation that other brands VW may check the levels at a service intervals. Will keep the forum informed re any information found.

Propus Wheels reparability question
Hi , I hope not to offend re colour of brake caliper: Bright red calipers if available normally would be an extra charge. However , boy racer springs to mind or a car owner who really cares for his car ! When I was younger I was both a boy racer an owner who looked after his wheels. Ford Anglia 105E , Corsair 2000 gearbox , Kent 1.6 GT engine , lowered , 5.5 wheels and Dunlop SP68 tyres ,straight through exhaust. Were the brakes upgraded , no just had to press harder on the middle peddle !!

Propus Wheels reparability question
Hi , On my previous car I ran through a few very small notifications issues that did not create any issues for my insurance company. My Mercedes AMG diamond cut alloys looked terrible but structurally sound. I told them I would like to powder coat them in silver to make the car look presentable. You would think that I asked them if I could install a big V8 engine in a mini. In the end they did agree but I suggest that prior to any change to original specification to the car inform the insurance company.
