Software failure not so Superb
Hi Jack, Thanks for your reply. I certainly hope that is the case for everyone on 2460. All the best

Software failure not so Superb
Hi Celli, Thanks for you reply. There are Red flags here for me now. It isn’t acceptable but I kind of get there being bugs when cars are first released, what I don’t get is why they are not updating all cars with 2460 to 2630. The only reason to invert money in software updates is to fix bugs….. So why leave customers on 2460 with those bugs? I acknowledge the difference between the assistive tech bugs and the lesser 2460 infotainment bugs. This wouldn’t be acceptable if you were buying something for £500, when the price tags is very much more it is ludicrous. Sorry getting a bit ranty and haven’t even bought the car yet. Feel sorry for you guys who have been through the mill with this.

Hi Rigor, Thanks for your reply. I guess my question is why would Skoda not allow infotainment systems with older SW to be updated to newer software I given the hardware should be either identical or very similar? It doesn’t make sense to me but I appreciate I have a lack of knowledge! So you the CarPlay black screen issue when using climate controls etc Thanks for your comments on the HUD 👍

Software failure not so Superb
As someone about to buy an Ex Demonstrator Superb L&K with 7000mile on the clock I wanted to say thanks to everyone who have taken the time to post on this forum, it has been very useful - if a little worrying. I took the car for a short test drive with all the assist functions seemingly working fine... at least on warning light. So far so good. I don't know the month of manufacture but it was registered in Nov 24 and running Sw version 2460. My take away so far from reading various posts is that the Infotainment version does not affect the assistance issues however the screen blanking out Apple CarPlay when using climate controls seems to be resolved by later infotainment Sw versions. Having questioned the dealership on the know Sw issues they say there are no Sw updates for this vehicle. I have limited understanding of these matters and hope someone could help me understand the following: why would Skoda not allow all Mk4 infotainment systems to be updated with the latest Sw if newer versions bring bug fixes / improvements given there should be no major hardware differences given how new the model is.? I noted in a post ChatGPT was integrated with Laura for some users which was not the case in the vehicle I test drove on Saturday, the sales rep had no knowledge of ChatGPT integration. Whilst not a major issue for me in itself it is just an indication that the Sw is not up-to-date.? From reading posts the Sw update addressing the assistance features is clearly a known issue for Skoda , why would this not be applied to all MK4 Superbs with the dealer again stating there is no SW update for this vehicle? Sorry for my naivety hence the need to ask these questions, on the face of it the Superb is a great car with excellent reviews however there are clearly some issues which I don't want to drive off the forecourt with so any advice would be appreciated. I would be interested to hear anyones experience of the HUD display too, this car comes with it but I found the speed limit sign small and hard to read, even with my glasses on! No such problem in previous BMW with HUD which was very clear. Any info gratefully received, thanks.
