  1. Cheers for that! From using your post, this should be a bit more ideal for me (partly cos Halfords site is so naff, you can't see a proper picture!) Found this: http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_Stereo_fitting_kits/antenna_adaptors.htm (see PC5-137 at bottom of the page) http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_Stereo_fitting_kits/images/PC5-137.jpg That should fix it - from what I can see... what connects into the 'blue' bit tho - does the original aeriel fit in there - looks like it won't because of the notch on it... Can anyone confirm?
  2. Not even sure if they exist, but having installed an FM modulator: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=44128 It appears that I am now suffering the same problems that these people suffered: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ice-security-insurance/poor-radio-reception/55792/?highlight=aerial+amplifier http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/radio-interference/53085/?highlight=aerial+amplifier Basically, it appears that this gadget is stopping the power getting to the aerial amplifier, what can I buy to resolve this? I can't pick up any AM / MW anymore which means no more 5 live!!!
  3. My mate went in last Wednesday, bought one, had it on Friday - it was someone elses order who had subsequently cancelled it... there's always that route (although obviously your lucky to get exactly what you want)...
  4. I'm with TalkTalk and got in a similar situation when I switched. The settings for his outgoing mail for his Tiscali account in outlook should be set to exactly the same as the outgoing mail for his talktalk account this should sort it
  5. nice thread cheers! .... be even better if I could be bothered to get off my *** and buy one
  6. lol - i know, i'm really struggling... there suppliers are: http://www.fk-automotive.com/en/ so can have pretty much anything from there...
  7. crikey - this is a blast from the past (well, a year ago anyways! ). I have one from Maplin now which I think is £20 and does the job spot on, albeit weakens the stereo signal slightly...
  8. Used Bobby Eardley in Crewe before and they were fantastic. I've had two Fabia vRS 10k (1 yr) services there before has been between £85 and £95.
  9. ummm... cambelts? whats this then? ...anything else other than that i might not know about?
  10. bought one off here for £150'ish not long ago... dead easy to fit and boy do you notice the difference!!! highly recommended! re: getting 175bhp out of the vRS, what setting did you have it on? (16?) also, is that with any other modifications? just wondering
  11. cool!!! really like that!... how much did that cost if you dont mind me asking?
  12. anyone ever had them done in the current Fab vRS style? (if possible) white and black (well, it'd have to be cream and black)...
  13. the reason I had mine replaced was that it never did it, and then all of a sudden, it started doing it... hence my understanding was it was knackered Skoda agreed
  14. yeah, that was exactly the same problem as mine - got it replaced under warranty no problems mate give it a try
  15. is it the CD Player? one of my old furby vRS's used to do that on start up...
  16. interested in this EGR fix suggested - anyone got a link to hand as to how I do it as I haven't a clue where to start :(
  17. - oh yeah, just quickly read what was written before about the dealerships. again Peugeot (after I had a death defying experience at 65mph in my 106) insisted there was nothing wrong with the car without even looking at it!!!! which just about sums it up.... Skoda dealerships are how you dream of dealerships being, from the start (no hard sell at all!) right through to aftersales where the continue to excel any other type of dealership i've dealt with! (except the local garage down the road but they are independant (dont' deal with a particular manufacturer)
  18. Haven't got chance to read through the thread i'm afraid, but since having 3 Skoda Fabia's (vrs), I would never go back to citreon or peugeot again i'm afraid :( Had a 206 GTi, and even though I only had it for 32,000 miles, had loads of problems :( covered under warranty admittedly (except the last one which is why I sold the car ) - things included were such things as part of the exhaust rusting away and falling apart - the connection just before the back box IIRC, just came away. They had to replace the exhaust right through to the CAT (again IIRC) - obviously I could have had it repaired if it didn't have a warranty but it wasn't something I expected to go after approx. 25,000 miles! Other thing that happened that stands out was the spark plug coil went.... Hope I got the technical bits right! I'm not a very technical person so going off memory! Had a 106 and 205 as well and these both had problems after a year of ownership :( had a xsara and that too was pants (turbo went on it) - I can promise you i'm not a rough driver either (no matter what it sounds like! )... as I said, had 3 Fabia's since I joined this forum and not had a problem with any
  19. Bought my Black Magic 2 weeks ago, just hit the 1250 miles mark ( :( ) - most expensive fill up was £40 @ 94.9 pp/litre, which gets me around 450 miles, maybe a few more if I pushed it! Just another 700'odd miles and i'll be brave enough to fit my dragon tuning box then it will be really interesting
  20. i've had a 53 plate, an 04 plate, and just got an 06 plate and I too have only noticed the rev stutter on the 06 plate - reckon i can live with it tho cos its not too bad
