  1. Cheers Raf. Didn't realise that so thanks for pointing out
  2. you are of course correct wardy (you helped me not long ago with vcds yeah?) The photography has had an impact but I think the shinyness does come out more when in direct Sunlight. I guess that's the same with anything tho. I had seen other pictures on here of it looking like the dull one though (on my phone so can't link but there is another green Octavia thread somewhere) so wanted to show the contrast
  3. here you go - couple of pictures of mine.... the light makes the car seem different colours from different angles. Direct sunlight really seems to bring the greeness out
  4. according to this, its a no unfortunately :( http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/172562-skoda-octavia-mk-1-wheels/
  5. https://www.wonga.com/ will try to take some pics later today
  6. there's a few piccies of others floating around here (of others) already - but will try to do some of mine later
  7. Picked up the green machine today.... I was unsure when I first saw it, and then for a good hour or so I was still unsure, but really liking it now... took a few hours to grow on me but more than happy now! (despite being pee'd off finding I had a damaged alloy on my way home - but i've posted about that elsewhere so will bite my tongue about it!)
  8. Here is the picture of the one damaged alloy - other 3 are fine but will take pictures if you wish (though have boxed them all up! *grrr* haha)
  9. As title, got 4 x 18" neptune alloys (silver) - all boxed up and ready to go off my Octavia vRS These came on the car but I had another set ready to go straight on in their place, car was picked up today so as soon as I got home, I got the new set in the boot and nipped down to the tyre place to get them changed over. Now, i've only done 75 miles on them (the 60 minute journey back from the dealership), and got home to find that one of them has a chip on it. To say i'm gutted / destroyed / ****ed off is an understatement - especially as they will acuse me of doing it when I will guarantee you it wasn't (wanted to sell these 'as new' to recoup some of my money - fat chance now!) So these from the dealer are £250 each. (£1000) With a 10% discount that some dealers offer, lets call them £900's worth of alloy. A quick google reveals getting the one alloy refurbed will cost around £50, but again, I don't want to mess people around so lets say to be safe it will cost you £75. So we, have £825's worth of alloy wheel. I don't want to mess around and need rid of these ASAP - as new, I was going to sell for £600. That's been scuppered, so £475 + courier. They are all nicely boxed up (bubble wrapped and individually boxed etc) ready to go. Failing that, if you're local to these places - Stoke / Warrington / Nottingham, i'll drop them off for free (and you can oggle my new alloys i've had then lol) If you think the price is bull, just say, i'm open to offers but at half price, i'd say its quite reasonable! Piccies of the damaged alloy to follow. Others are all fine but I will happily take pictures if you wish. Cheers! edit - if I get enough interest to split the deal between a few people, then i'd do them for £145 each + courier - the damaged one i'd do for £85 + courier - i'd need a few people to commit though... buy more than one and i'll try to do you a bit more of a deal
  10. as long as they're not becoming too common eh? haha I pick mine up in less than a week!
  11. was coming up tiny mate (was a link to the mobile version of ebay) - here's the full link for computer users - bigger pictures etc: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320876031393 edit: no mention of mileage?
  12. stupid question - is this all I'd need or would I still need to get cabling / microphone etc etc?
  13. yeah - i know that - you didn't quote the important bit that says its a mid-february option though... we're now past what i'd class as mid-february :p my question was if anyone had a better idea of when it would become an option
  14. I meant to post here, not the green car thread! anyways, I'll try again! Anyone know about the black alloys yet? they were supposed to be a mid-Feb option but they've not appeared as an option yet apparently
  15. Anyone know about the black alloys yet? they were supposed to be a mid-Feb option but they've not appeared as an option yet apparently
  16. I hate repetition of questions in this place, and am sure i've seen this asked before but i can't for the life of me remember the answer nor find it via. search Question relates to a used mk2. Skoda Octavia vRS Diesel (2011) Can the service interval be changed from Fixed to Variable? I know you can go the other way around but I always (incorrectly?) thought that once you'd gone to Fixed, you couldn't go back. Thanks in advance guys
  17. dropped you a PM Wardy - cheers Car nearly did the 70 mile round trip today but on the M6 the engine management light (or whatever its called) kicked in and has stayed on, and around 5 mins from home I started to get random "glowplug flashing" again so unfortunately it doesn't look like a brake light issue... damn! Checked and just over a year ago, I had the following done on it (under warranty): Code 51: Sensor - Engine warning light on GFF and renew inline sensor line .... whatever that means!
  18. Cheers for the offer Wardy - head up to Warrington quite a bit usually - is that your neck of the woods?
  19. Cheers guys - yeah, its full skoda service history so will look at that option if it happens again. i've just been out in it tonight - around 6 miles round trip and not a single beep out of it. I do around 70 miles per day normally but won't be making my normal daily commute till Friday now so will see what happens that day
  20. So in theory, would it kick in (periodically) when i go to do some breaking? - If so, i'll keep an eye out to see if it co-incides with any attempted breaking. I certainly didn't notice any 'limp mode' that is talked off which would indicate an engine issue (if I understand correctly?) so hopefully it is the switch... Last time I had break switch problems was on a 1996 corsa... is it still something that a good clean will fix or will i need a replacement?
  21. hey Timmy, apologies, not interested in the exhaust i'm afraid, but can I have second dibs on both the Bluetooth and the RNS Columbus on the (very very) slim chance Matt decides he doesn't want them? cheers
  22. This is the first Skoda i've ever kept till it's gone outside of warranty, and it looks like its letting me down. Thoroughly disappointed. I've had a read through here, so to be fair, I know its likely to be: 1) an exhaust sensor that's goosed 2) the glow plugs that have gone 3) or a brake light / switch issue 4) (anything else????) My problem seems to be intermittent though - the light came on 3 times on my way home tonight (on the last 10 minute stretch of my journey), and each time for no more than 15 seconds I've already had an exhaust sensor replaced (in which case, I assume it has a years parts warranty?) - but surely if that was the problem it wouldn't be intermittent. I've not been able to check the brakes until I read on this place and the car is behaving at the moment and brakes are fine. I know this subject has kinda been covered, but any suggestions (and does anyone who is a bit partial to a free-pint have VCDS in Stoke on Trent / South Cheshire??) edit: hopefully people realise, but just in case - its a 3 year old, diesel VRS (CR170)
  23. as title, i've got a 09/2008, Octavia vRS Diesel that is saying it needs its second service (variable). Anyone got ideas how much this will cost? Have covered 38k now if that matters Ta...
